Silken, gently sun-kissed skin covers her lithe body and protects her from the elements. Well-toned muscles softly ripple with her every move, be it a leap or tiptoe, although they are almost imperceptible. She holds herself with majesty, for she is thin and graceful; she stands at an impressive 5’8” and weighs about 120 pounds. Piercing, ever-changing eyes and powerful arched brows betray her emotions quite easily at times. A slightly-wider-than-average nose and full, soft lips complete her visage. Her angled face and untamed blonde tresses make her seem as wild and beautiful as her feline counterpart. Various scars from fights in her cat form adorn her body like trophies, and she is proud of each one. Some are long, some are small, some are thick, some are knotted. The scar from a snakebite, two horizontal puncture wounds, rests just under her right eye. There is a permanent “ring” around her left index finger from a particularly nasty tangle with some fishing line that almost forced her to lose the finger. Ullr’s mountain lion skin, from nose to tail, measures almost 7 feet long and weighs about 100 pounds. Her fur coat is a deep beige with hints of black and blonde flecking her lower limbs. Powerful muscle, but even more importantly, nimble legs, are this animal’s striking features. Her eyes are a near-transparent blue-green that seems to freeze those who make eye contact in their tracks. Although she is not the quickest animal, she is limber and can run at a healthy pace. All her scars are naturally in the same place. Character Concept Ullr is conflicted. Mountain lions are naturally solitary creatures and rarely cross paths with other beings. However, Ullr’s Kelvic genes make her yearn for company and itch to find her Bondmate. The constant rivalry between her two base desires confuses her, and often leads her to make poorer choices than if she was influenced by one or the other. She is intuitive and strong-willed like her feline counterpart, but in order to achieve her ultimate goal, she sometimes ignores her gut (whether it be for better or worse). She finds it hard to accept that she is wrong. The hustle and bustle of city streets unsettles Ullr, and makes her anxious, but she is a people-watcher at heart and can calm herself in the midst of people-buzz. She would rather spend time outside, in nature’s open expanse, than in a box of a city. Generally speaking Ullr is terse and quiet around others, unless she is in a place where she feels at ease. She is not outgoing despite her longing for companionship. Challenge is her middle name. If there is one thing to keep in account when it comes to Ullr, it is that she wants to KNOW. She wants to be more than what she is. She is a bit naive when it comes to human traditions. Ullr understands human concepts and rules, but believes in survival-of-the-fittest. She has no qualms about stealing a loaf of bread to further her existence, and hey—the person who baked it should have guarded it better. However, she is human, and will sometimes go out of her way to help people in need; she has a conscience. Alone-time is one of Ullr’s favorite things. She loves to surround herself with nature. Running, tree-climbing, hunting, and swimming (when she wears her human skin, at least) are some of her favorite active pastimes. Rare meat, stew, and strong alcoholic brews are her favorite foods. One will never find cheese on her plate, or wine in her glass. Smoke and fire make her quiver; they bother her nose and frighten her. She is fascinated by ghost stories and puts on a brave face as they’re told, but almost nothing scares her more than ghosts. She can read basic words and can perform basic math but ultimately wants to become well-versed in academics and magic. Character History Ullr is not sure where she was born, having only been around for about three years. All she knows is that wherever it was, her (human) parents, upon discovering she was a Kelvic, did not take kindly to her. Spurned and left to die as soon as she was deemed old enough (she is not bitter, it is merely fact), she was discovered by a band of traveling Kelvics on their way to Syliras. They embraced her and raised her, taught her how to hunt and fish and forage, among other things, and she grew up as they journeyed toward the city. Several weeks into her travels, when Ullr was about a year old, her group of vagabonds ventured into a cavern in order to seek shelter from a rather nasty thunderstorm. As they began to wind down for the night, Aster, their newest member and her closest friend, claimed he felt strange and wanted to leave as soon as possible. The rest of the party dismissed his nerves and went to sleep. He was right, however. There was something wrong in the cavern. If they’d ventured a bit further inside, Ullr and her friends would have found the marred remains of... Someone. His ghost took possession of Aster while everyone else slept. Against his will, Aster slit two of his companions’ throats before being forced to take his own life. When the party, now a headcount of seven, awoke to the sight and smell of pooled blood, they fled the cavern immediately. By this point, the wanderers were fairly close to their destination; Ullr had been lucky and caught them on the tail end of their journey. It was only a few more weeks until they reached Syliras, and they did not encounter any more events like the one in the cavern, but Ullr was forever scarred. She was still a cub, a girl who appeared only six years of age. She decided then, once she took up residence in Syliras, that she would never set foot in that cavern again, or any place like it. Staying put is not in her nature, though, and Ullr soon found herself, at about two years of age (appearing around twelve years old), on the search for her Bondmate. For a while, she even traveled with a group of Benshira for a time, where she picked up a fair amount of Shiber. In the end, Ullr was drawn back to Syliras, where she can be found to this day. Despite her dislike of cities, she reasons that in such a big place, she is bound to find her Bondmate. She is also wary of the outside world without a band of friends to journey with. The nagging fear that she will one day stumble across the cavern, and find Aster’s corpse again eats at her and keeps her inside the city walls. Training (Skills, Arcana, Gnosis, Lore)
