Stretching northward along the coastline of the Suvan Sea, the Cobalt Mountains are the home of the Bronze Wood, numerous ruins, and creatures both strange and fantastical.

[Cobalt Mountain]
[Sacred Arch Hotspring]
[92nd day of winter 509.a.v.]
[midday]

The day Amelia left Syliras once more had finally arrived, kind of. She wanted to leave the first moment spring arrives officially. None the less she had already managed to toss her miza in Kova’s wishing well and was now leaving the city for a whole year if not more, but she wouldn't miss the castle. Amelia didn’t like much about the city and even though she was a decent liar and knew how to hide it on daily encounters, it would be easier to name the few things she likes. Those things would probably be limited to the freedom of religious beliefs and safety. Everything else made the city feel like a prison. The city was crowded, controlled and people were brainwashed into thinking everything was great about it. Above other things it stinks, not rhetorically, but it truly reeks. It’s often a trouble walking past some people and not arch your lips in disgust or fight the desire to throw out your breakfast. Whit that said, can one really blame this girl for wishing to go to Ravok? A city that is kept clean and beautiful, it’s like a painting and you are free to live there. You actually get windows there and it’s cozy, sweet even. The Black sun and Ebonstryfe seem to be just as much of brainwashers as the knights. There, for the most part, she could act like she wanted and knew she wouldn’t be called a hooker or looked down at.

One way or the other, she had set off and didn’t intend to turn back anytime soon. Somewhere in two days she is supposed to meet up with a few men that she met back in the days at the ‘Rearing Stallion’ They will be traveling to Nyak and she was supposed to catch up to them by the Pavi Lake. Now it felt like she’d be the one waiting for them, but the fresh air and actual scenery of the region was worth the time spent alone in the Cobalt Mountains. ”not like we will miss the place anyway, right girl?” Amelia chuckled as she tapped Fauna’s side with her leg lightly, earning bout an approving neigh and a noticeable increase in the horse’s speed. Fauna was still young, but bout of the girls had come off to a good start in their relationship from the first time Amelia visited Ravok.

The steady stroll along the bronze woods was a pleasant change to the cities walls, and the fresh air she just couldn’t get enough of caused a bright smile to spread across her face. In no time she saw some old people walking back to the cities, along with some children. The Bronze woods weren’t the safest place of this region, but the knights patrolled around it and most bandits didn’t find the few travelers that wondered around to be a worthy enough bother if they could risk and be stabbed by a knight’s sword. The girl assumed it was the hotspring that had the people wonder outside the cities walls. Amelia wondered off into a land of thoughts as she watched the elders walk pass her without even lifting a glance up at her.

”Maybe I should go there…it’s said to heal even the minds” to this she didn’t expect to hear an answer, but her horse seemed to have picked up the thought without her even having to speak. It was a moment’s notice before she was awakened by a neigh ”Don’t tell me you can read my mind” she let out, but to this the horse seemed to be silent. Amelia thought she’d be going back on her way to the Pavi Lake, but Fauna seemed to change her direction and head towards the spring. ”What do you think you’re doing!?” she protested, tapping the horses side once more, but earning nothing but a disapproving tap on the ground. ”great, now not only do my parents control my every move…but you to…I bet your just a spy!” but Fauna didn’t seem to pay attention to it. ”I’m still in charge…keep that in mind” an inner complain, out of laziness to speak or maybe just lack of desire to do it.

In no time, she had reached the surprisingly empty part of the spring. Amelia was used to seeing this place relatively crowded, but then again. She might have just approached at the wrong time or from the wrong side.

A place to fall [John Furnival]

Mornings were the worst part of the day; they left too much time to think. John Furnival naturally woke up at the same time every day, eating a quick breakfast consisting of bread and water, and sometimes meat. He would clean his armor, put it on, which was a fast process by now, and then clean, sharpen, and shine his weapons. John was less than a year from the age of thirty, and as he sat on his bed, eyes closed, he couldn't imagine what he had spent thirty years doing. Walking around the city chasing down petty thieves and stabbing violent lunatics? That wasn't what life was about. He was missing something, that was for sure. What he was missing, though, he did not know.

John left his apartment, which was nested deep in the citadel, and ventured down south from the Maiden District, heading along the path which reached past the Nettle and to the main gates, stopping along the way at the Nettle to purchase a small knife and dagger and some candles, which he placed in his pack. Although he was long-accustomed to the closeness and stuffy atmosphere of the castle, today John felt like he needed to get out into the open. John nodded at the knights guarding the gates and waited as they slowly opened the massive doors. It was obvious that the gate guards longed for the outside. Unlike them, however, John could fulfill this yearning because today, he was to patrol the Cobalt Mountains. Truly, there was not much to patrol there, save for the occasional petty thief that picked the pockets of elders, who were easy targets for thievery and robbery. Spring was to arrive by the next sunset, the sweet scent of flowers floating from the south in the wind. Most of the flowers were yet to bloom, but there were always early bloomers that began at the end of winter. By now, it was no longer morning and the sun was out, making the weather feel as though it was summer.

John headed west toward the Bronze Woods, the thawing earth squishing under his footsteps. It had rained the night before, and the fog had cooled down, dropping so low to the ground that the visibility was hardly a half-mile. The soft, wet ground had frozen, creating a thin, white frost on the surface, but it was melting now with the sun, which had risen. John walked toward the Bronze Woods, but made a left as soon as he had passed the walls of the castle. He marched forward now, the castle to his left, the bronze woods to his right, which he couldn't actually see. He intended on visiting the Sacred Arch Hotsprings first; he longed to feel the warm water. He didn't plan on completely bathing in it; he just wanted to feel it with his hands. It had been years since his last visit to the hot springs. His crunching footfalls were uninterrupted for a good few few moments until he heard, not saw, a horse sprinting, somewhere far off to the right, up toward the springs. There is no way that it could sense the water, and it didn't gallop like a wild horse. It must have been accompanied by a rider. Curious as to the identity of the person on the horse, John picked up his pace, sure that whoever rode on the beast was headed for the springs. Where else could they be going anyway, with such perfect weather for a hot bath?

John treaded along the ground until finally, the springs came into view. He saw the horse standing by the lake. He was correct; there was, indeed a rider upon the equestrian animal, seemingly a woman. She squirmed in place, as if she didn't want to be there. Maybe the horse did lead her there. Maybe she was heading somewhere else, but the horse ran over for a sip of water. Although, nobody in the right mind, neither man nor horse, would drink from steaming water. John approached the woman slowly, interested in speaking to her. She was a pale and beautiful lady, with straight black hair that flowed over her shoulders elegantly. John was twenty and nine years of age, compared to her age, which was probably eighteen or so. He felt a little weird for finding her attractive, but some women liked older men, so it might not be a problem for her.

Hoping that he could make a progressing conversation with her, he walked right up to her, only a foot or so from the horse itself, which made her tower over him. He spoke through his helmet, the lack of a space for his mouth deforming his voice. "Hello there, young lady," he said. "Might I be of service to you? You seem a tad lost."

Amelia was almost laying down on Fauna, resting her head against the horses neck, a bit bored and still slightly confused, maybe even angered by the horse’s actions. She simply watched the steam lift from the mirror like surface, wondering why Fauna had decided to bring her here. If she’d have brought her to any other lake or stream, she’d assume that Fauna wanted a drink. Above all, the horse had a good memory and knew her way around the paths of this region, sort of. Amelia had finally decided to speak, but she was startled by the sound of metal coming from somewhere behind her ”was leaving Syliras without seeing a knight too much to ask” the voice inside of her head still sounded boring, all Amelia hopped for was that the bag of metal wouldn’t pay attention to her.

How naïve of her to hope a knight wouldn’t come up, a woman all alone must be oh so suspicious but her face didn’t show any dislike, pretending to like someone she has learned from her father. Not to mention, living in the citadel had forced her to pretend she liked the knights every single bell. The knight was close, right next to her and Fauna. Amelia straightened her posture, looking down at the man with a small smile that could even be considered a bit playful from Amelia’s glistering eyes. ”Hello” she simply answered not bothering if the man was a page or a knight, could have been a grandmaster for all that she cared. Outside the walls, no knight will hear her address them as ‘sir’.

She had to think over the question, it wasn’t exactly hard. However Amelia felt the question being crucial, if she said ‘no’ the man was likely to leave, but did she want it? He was here all alone and it would give her a great opportunity to mess around with him and his mind, the men of Ravok weren't as easy as in Syliras. Well, the worthy men that is. ”If I said I’m lost, would I have the pleasure to be guided out from here,by you?” Amelia’s voice was almost a purr as she managed to lean down and towards the man slightly. She was warming up for a game, a little hunt as her mother called Amelia’s games, but it seemed that Fauna had a different idea to how this encounter should move on.

Soon enough, the horse rose up and Amelia began losing her balance ”Fauna!” she gasped, trying to regain her balance and control over the horse, but all failed. It was a moment’s notice before Amelia fell from the horse, eyes shut awaiting her hit the ground, or even worse the cold armor of the man.
