Timestamp: 1st of Winter, 512 A.V. Time to review, thought Kaidan, as it was his second semester at the university. Looking down towards his papers that he held before him, notes he had taken on orchids, trumpet pitchers, and the overall generalization of flowers, trees, and things like that, he began to wonder. What about fruit? That's a plant, isn't it? Where does fruit come from? And what would it be classified as? he thought, as he looked around the library, shuffling through his papers, to see if the answer was contained within them. It was not. That was a shame, thought Kaidan. Perhaps one of these books within this library happen to have some information on the various fruit and where they come from exactly. So, Kaidan began sifting through the various pamphlets on Botany, until he found one that sort of described what he happened to be looking for. 'The Fruitation of Exotic Flowering Plants' it was called. Giving a half cocked grin to it, he picked up the pamplet, and took it back to his seat where his notebook happened to be waiting. Picking up the quill, he began to read through the pamplet. It seemed that fruit only came from a flowering plant, something called an angiospermae. Reading further, he would start to write down in his own words, varying definitions of the terms he would come across within the pamplet. The first being angiospermae.
Looking towards his handiwork with the first definition, it didn’t satisfy him that it was such a small definition for Angiospermae. Wondering how he could expand upon it, he sighed, and looked into the pamphlet once more. Looking up the term again, he would continue to read further, and then write down his own version of what exactly it was that he read.
That was a little better, but not by much, thought Kaidan as he continued reading onward. Well, I guess that’s as good of a definition of angiospermae that I’m going to fine, he thought. Now, how exactly are fruit produces? What plants produce what basic types of fruit? He continued to think as he continued to read through the pamphlet. It seemed that it covered a bunch of different fruit, and which plants they happened to come from. Taking his quill, he began to write down the various fruit that were connected to certain types of plants.
After having read about the varying types of flora that were associated with the Konti Isle, as well as Eyktol, Kaidan grinned at his newfound knowledge. Now, perhaps to write a blurb on each of these various fruits, something interesting about them, that will assist me in remembering them when I review these notes in the future, he thought. And so, his hand began to write once more, utilizing the quil, as well as the ink, in order to jot down some interesting facts about some of the plants he had in this new list he had created from the pamphlet he had found that was all about exotic plants of Mizahar.
Kaidan took a deep breath, and looked at the notes he had written down. Now that that was finished, he could finally take a break from what he happened to be doing, and go lay down in his dormitory for a bit. Picking up his notebook and papers, as well as ink jar and quill (after he dried It off), the young man would put the pamphlet back where he found it, and head on back up to his room in order to take a good long break from studying. Then it would be time to find a professor, and speak with them about the certain types of plants he now had notes upon. Grinning at his luck at finding that pamphlet, Kaidan laid down in his dormitory room, and fell asleep, only to awake an hour or so later, refreshed, and ready to find a professor to study, learn and apprentice from finally. He had had enough of the classroom, and wanted to learn directly from the professors now. |
