While Sylira is by far the most civilized region of Mizahar, countless surprises and encounters await the traveler in its rural wilderness. Called the Wildlands, Syliran's wilderness is comprised of gradual rolling hills in the south that become deep wilderness in the north. Ruins abound throughout the wildlands, and only the well-marked roads are safe.

The huntress chuckled knowingly as her eyes glimmered. "No, why would I?" she inquired, as the Kelvic pulled her blade off the ground and began to inspect it.

The aurist merely stood, her eyes trailing over the leopard's form as she took deep breaths in through her nose and out through her mouth. It wasn't difficult for her to keep silent, while the Kelvic went to work.

Nor was it difficult for her to answer. "It's coated in mist, that's why it's so cold... why it could cut..."

Her voice trailed off for quite some time, as she continued to study the girl's features.

"A dagger's a dagger Kyra, you don't like or dislike them really," Aello said simply, as her lips curled into an even more curious grin. "Have you ever tried?" she asked. "To clean a dagger? It's harder than it looks, isn't it?"

She chuckled. "Here, why don't you wipe the metal off on your shirt? If you manage to get the stains out, you can keep it," the huntress offered before pausing, waiting to see what the girl would do before she continued speaking. "Why wouldn't I be?" she asked, as she pulled her hand away from the blade, and then moved the wielding back.

"I wouldn't move," she confided, as she hurled the blade towards Kyra, sending it towards her shoulders. Seeking to find a strip of fabric for the metal to clip; to bind her to the nearest tree.

See? the huntress thought to herself as she sauntered across the clearing towards the Kelvic. Seeking to retrieve her blade.

"Why?" she inquired, "did you want to learn?"

OOCDue to the dagger's magic, Kyra will fail to clean it. And even if Aello gave it to her, she'd lose it sooner or later, and the huntress would have it again. Since you know, the dagger loves Aello ever so much.

"It's coated in mist?" Kyra asked, her voice almost a whisper as she continued to study the dagger. Her own dagger was smaller, and not as nearly as cold as the blade the huntress tossed at her. "So then..it's special. Who made it for you?"

The kelvic glanced at the Huntress oddly when she spoke of daggers being daggers. "Then I suppose you won't mind trading me this for another?" she had to ask, knowing that this longer dagger had a slightly better range in length than her own.

"Yes, I have cleaned my dagger before many times over." she said simply before starting to wipe Aello's blade onto her shirt. It was a strange thing and no matter how much and how hard she rubbed the blade against her shirt it wouldn't come clean. "What is this? Is this some form of magic?" She turned the blade in her palm and glanced back towards the woman, realizing that she had been tricked.

"You are a trickster Aello and I dare say a.." her voice was suddenly silenced when the huntress tossed a blade at her, stabbing into the cloth at her shoulder where it pinned her to the tree. Kyra, without thinking, quickly snatched herself away from the tree and moved to it's side. The dagger was still dug into the tree keeping with it a piece of Kyra's shirt.

The kelvic hissed at Aello, turning the dagger into her palm as she glared at her, ready to strike. There had always been a trust issue between the two and Kyra was never sure of what the woman thought of her. There was a coldness about her, an uneasiness that she wasn't normal. Kyra didn't like this...and the dagger that she tossed at her didn't help.

"Is that how you teach someone to use a dagger? By throwing it at them?" Kyra asked in a serious tone as she moved from behind the tree and took a swing at Aello with her own dagger.

When the Claws Came Out (Kyra)

Aello's eyes sparkled. A delicate chuckle was creeping out of her lips as she stared at her purer blade, quivering slightly as its edge wedged itself into the trunk of the tree. Her lips curled into an even wider grin as the Kelvic hissed, and then swung at her as she approached.

Easily, she turned her body to the side, and glided out of the way, just as her right hand rose and wrenched her remaining dagger from the tree. She shook her head lightly, tousling her chestnut colored mane as she swung the blade wide and out to her side, preparing herself for another onslaught of attacks.

Meanwhile, the pycon had risen. A yawn escaping her lips as she rubbed her eyes with two tiny clay hands and looked up. Cocked her head to the side. "Kyra?" Lily asked.

"Why are you two fighting?" There was a pause. "Oh..."

The pycon shook her head. "Giants," she muttered under her breath just as her mistress receded, turning around the bark of a nearby tree. "Anytime you're done trying to kill each other, just know my belly's rumbling. And I'm hunnnnngarryyyyyy."

Aello chuckled as she swirled around the side of the tree again. "Get the clay yourself Lily, you know where it is."

"You can't take a break from trying to slit her throat to get it for me? It takes so long for me to do it!" the pycon complained.

Aello laughed. "Who said I was trying to slit her throat?" she inquired.

"Well her wrists then."

"Or those?" the huntress went on, as she kept her eyes trained on her opponent, despite the whirling wisps that emanated from her companion. Angry, chopped things.

The pycon threw her hands up in the air. "Well you could have fooled me!" she yelled.

Aello made no response as she swept her right arm out to the side, and then brought it back in towards her left shoulder. A wide arc that was meant to sever shoulders to neck, if it hit.

Which she doubt it would. She was being lazy... on purpose.

"Lily," Aello whispered as she whipped her hand around in the opposite direction, after her offensive had run its course. "Don't you think if I wanted Kyra dead, she would be right now?"

The pycon said nothing.

"She can't fight for shit like this, you know." Her eyes sparkled all the more, as her boots scraped against the earth. The leaves rustling around them, as silver mist left their cooling lips.

"So you're... testing her?" Lily asked.

For a short time, there was only the clamor of two metal blades.

"Perhaps," finally came the huntress' last reply.

Kyra could hear Lily, but she wasn't in the mood, or the position to really speak back. Aello had armed herself and it seemed that she was ready for a fight. The young kelvic raced after her as she moved around the tree. Lifting herself up, and using her feet to kick off the tree, Kyra came down towards Aello, bringing her leg around with a wild kick, before she landed on the ground.

"I'm here Lily, but I'm a little busy.."

She could still hear Lily talking in the short distance, and Aello continued to speak as well. Still Kyra didn't speak again and lifted her arm to swing the blade out a second time towards the huntress. The woman seemed to be enjoying herself, a bit too much for Kyra in fact. Was she simply toying with her? The girl couldn't say as of yet, but stayed on her guard his in case.

With the huntress on attack now, Kyra pushed herself back, arms swinging wide as she slipped back and away from Aello's slash. Kyra dug her heels into the ground to stop her backwards motion, and then moved forward again striking at Aello with her blade. There was a short silence, and as Aello and Lily continued to speak, Kyra's ears prickered at their words. " Testing me?....For what purpose do you seek to test me Aello!"

She moved forward again, this time twisting her hips as she swung her leg up for another wild kick that spun her around, even as she swung her arm out slashing with the blade in the opposite direction.

When the Claws Came Out (Kyra)

The huntress merely chuckled as she stepped back, just out of Kyra's reach, before running forward again. Lowering the arm that held the blade before sweeping it in a diagonal line towards her left shoulder. So as to bring the flat of it against Kyra's side.

"To see how much I have to teach you," Aello growled, as she pulled her hand in, and twirled around the Kelvic's back. Her arm whipping around her side in a wide circle, which would eventually end in the flat of her blade ramming into Kyra's opposite shoulder. Or so she hoped.

Essentially... everything... she thought to herself as she spun away, turning to face her opponent once more as the dagger returned to her side.

"Concentrate Kyra," Aello instructed. "Rashness only gets you killed."

Her eyes sparkled; menacingly. Was she serious?

Kyra stumbled forward after Aello slipped behind her and attacked. But the young kelvic wasn't done yet, and turned to once again face her opponent. The woman was fast and wielded her dagger much faster than Kyra. She stepped aside then, turning her arm out and extending the dagger for another go.

So it was, the woman sought to teach Kyra to better wield a dagger. The huntress was enjoying herself and Kyra was starting to as well. She crossed over to Aello again, swinging her arm out into a horizontal slash and then stepping back.

She tried to watch, and observe the woman's movements and ready her body to react at the moment at which she choose to strike. Kyra frowned a bit as Aello instructed her, the young kelvic had been trying to concentrate but the woman was too fast. She had never met a human who could move as fast, it seemed almost impossible.

"Again.." she demanded before turning with her shoulder in and bringing the blade down in a shoulder to hip slash towards Aello's body. She stepped back, then moved in again with another side kick.

When the Claws Came Out (Kyra)

Postby Aello on February 17th, 2013, 9:06 pm

Aello moved into Kyra's range with fluid steps, the front of her boots sweeping the dirt across the ground as she raised her dagger to meet with the one the Kelvic had borrowed. Metal clashed against metal for a split second, sending a ring which reverberated through the trees into the air.

Another breath and they were breaking apart, moving limbs to meet as opposed to sharp blades.

The huntress only smiled knowingly as she watched the girl's leg swing. Her free hand coming out to the side, and then back in, as though to catch it. But she wasn't fast enough, and the Kelvic's leg soon smashed into her appendage, causing it to sting. Gritting her teeth as her fingers reddened, the huntress shook it out to lessen the pain as she drew near.

Closing the gap that had once rested between her and the Kelvic. "Try something else Kyra," Aello instructed, as she led with her shoulder. Bringing her right hand over to the one that lagged behind, before whipping it back out, until it lay just ahead of her.

Pointed like a dagger. The tip glittering in the sunlight.

Metal continued to clash as the practice, or whatever they were doing went on. Kyra felt compelled by curiosity and excitement to return Aello's every blow. She wasn't so much angry as she was interested, why did the huntress want to train her? For what purpose did she suddenly decide to throw a dagger at her?

These were questions to which she wasn't likely to get answers and so she swung the blade again and again. Testing her ability against that of the huntress. With Aello's sharp swing, Kyra leaned back to dodge the blow, where she ended up falling onto her back.

The young kelvic quickly lifted her legs and swung them downward, using the momentum to help her to "skip up" from the ground. She then twisted her hips and swung a wild kick towards the huntress in order to draw her away from her back.

Again Kyra charged in, bringing the arm wielding the dagger in close to her chest before swaying it out again. "Do you always teach those you meet in the wilds to use your daggers?" she asked, allowing her arm to loosen and swing back to extend her reach and swinging it out again.

When the Claws Came Out (Kyra)

Aello's eyes followed the Kelvic, but her body did not. Instead, it receded, falling into the shadow cast by the trees. "No," she said simply as she moved forward, into another series of attacks which she deflected lazily with simple flicks of her wrist.

"Why? Does it matter?" Aello inquired as she lifted her right leg, bending it at the knee and pulling it into her chest before thrusting her foot out to meet Kyra's toes. She hoped to smash them into her left foot before gliding forward, ramming her body into that of her opponent to knock her back against the nearest tree, before raising her dagger and bringing the flat under her left arm.

A breath, and then she'd move away to face the next wave.

"That wasn't something different Kyra," the huntress muttered absently as she waited for her.

Kyra slammed her leg into Aello's which sent her backwards and into the tree. However the kelvic wasn't done and quickly dashed towards the woman, turning her body inward for a duck and roll to move herself away from being blocked between the huntress and the tree. A strange turn of events it had all been, and what started seemingly as a fight was now some sort of training attempt.

"You want to see different?"

Taking a breath and a moment to slide her leg into position, Kyra moved again, jumping up to swing a wild kick towards Aello's head. Her slender body turned completely during her kick which landed her back on the ground with the same leg outstretched. She glanced up at Aello and quickly swung her leg around hoping to trip the woman up.

"How about this?"

Standing up again, the young kelvic turned the cursed blade in her palm and launched the dagger at Aello. As the cursed blade soared through the air towards the woman, Kyra slipped her own dagger from her belt and charged in again. She ducked the huntress a second time as she raced back to the tree, only to kick off it as she turned her body in the air and swung her blade from hip to shoulder towards the woman.
