Description: Isabelle looks for the most part like a normal young woman, she has inquisitive, pale grey eyes and straight, jet black hair, but those are her most defining traits. Her facial features are sharp and her hands are always fidgeting, she is constantly looking around at her surroundings and tends to stare at people just a little too long. She’s a pretty average looking girl, she isn’t ugly but she’s not the prettiest girl in town, though that might be because she doesn’t pay much attention to makeup or clothes. She tends to wear darker colors but has an affinity for jewelry or anything bright and shiny. There’s usually some sort of bauble around her neck or in her hair.

Character Concept
Home City: Alvadas-born and raised
“If I could ever fit in anywhere, it would be here in Alvadas. Nothing here is ever the way it seems.”
Isabelle was born in Alvadas to a young flower store owner by the name of Vanessa Vigeante. Her father was a travelling merchant, but that’s all that Isabelle really knows about him as he left before he even knew her mother was pregnant and she never saw him again. Growing up in Alvadas, there were always new places to explore, trouble to get into, and new things appearing to grab her attention, which only worsened her inability to concentrate. As such, she was never very good at book learning. Being fully grown at only two and a half, Isabelle hasn’t had much time to learn how to read, write, or do math, and doesn’t have much interest in doing so. Her mother made sure she at least knew enough to survive and that’s perfectly fine with Isabelle. The less time she has to spend inside reading books the better. Her minimal education and inability to focus on things that don’t appeal to her sometimes makes life difficult, but she doesn’t let it bother her. Isabelle’s mother was dealt an unfortunate hand in life and made it her goal to make sure her daughter didn’t end up in the situation she did. Knowing how valuable Kelvics are—particularly social birds like Isabelle—and how easily they can be taken advantage of, she kept Isabelle’s identity secret and warned her against letting anyone know what she was. She taught her to be especially fearful of travelers and strangers, who might try to take her and sell her into slavery. She was to never accept gifts or follow anyone outside the city. Though on her own now, Isabelle continues to try her best to follow her mother’s rules, but they are all so against her nature that she often slips up. Like any Kelvic, she’s so enamored with humans it’s hard for her to stay away, and with merchants and tradesmen coming through the city on almost a daily basis, it’s nearly impossible not to run into a stranger once in a while. Isabelle occasionally makes money by working surveillance jobs for the Listeners. She unwittingly fell into this occupation when a Listener caught her changing form in an alleyway and took the opportunity to blackmail her into working for them. Isabelle doesn’t really mind, however, and as always is eager to please. The jobs are always different and usually force her to come up with creative ways of spying on people, which she enjoys very much. In exchange she makes just enough money to live off of and her secret is kept relatively safe from the rest of the world .
I’ve always been able to see things, things that other people miss. It never did me much good, though. Where I come from, what matters is what you can’t see.
Personality While relatively uneducated, Isabelle is nevertheless clever and quick-witted; she’s insatiably curious and picks up on things quickly when they spark her interest. Her mind is constantly working and nothing escapes her. Easily distracted, she may seem distant-minded and unfocused, but she’s always thinking and when push comes to shove she can figure her way out of almost any situation. Isabelle gives off a sense of innocence and wonder, and often acts much like a child. She has an active imagination and it doesn’t take much to entertain her or make her happy. She doesn’t have much of a sense of value, but delights in novelty and has a special affinity for things that shine. She loves to collect them and has hiding places all over town where she keeps her treasures. Isabelle is in a constant struggle with herself. She was raised to be wary of strangers and knows how dangerous the world can be for Kelvics, but being a social bird, it’s hard for her to stay away from people. She’s fascinated and enthralled with them, how they behave, and what makes them happy. She finds any excuse she can to help people, but she’s always sure to try and keep her guard up, just in case.

1. What is your Name? Isabelle Vigeante 2. Do you go by a nickname or pet name? Nope, just Isabelle. 3. How old are you? 2 and a season. 4. What is your height? 5"4' 5. What is your weight? 110 lbs
Aesthetics :
1. Describe yourself as you see yourself. I'm a crow, I'm also a girl, I have two different bodies but it's always me inside, you know? I'm Isabelle, it doesn't really matter what I look like. I guess I'm a decent looking human, I'm no goddess but I'm certainly not ugly. 2. Describe yourself as others typically see you. I don't let people see me change, so when I'm a crow they just see a crow. As a girl, I think people like what they see for the most part. No one's writing poems or singing songs about my beauty, but I get a smile and a glance now and then and I like it that way. 3. What is your favorite body feature? I love my eyes. Grey eyes are perfectly plain on a crow but on a girl they are very pretty. 4. How physically fit are you? Fit enough I think, I love to run and jump and climb, and flying is always an option as well. I'm not much of a fighter but I'm fast enough that I don't have to be. 5. How do you typically dress and what is your style? I have a black dress with some red frills, it's kind of my favorite and the only one I've been able to consistently hold on to. I can't take my clothes with me when I change and I've lost more than a few changes of clothing around Alvadas. For that reason I don't really spend a lot of time or money on clothes.
Family :
1. Who are your parents and what are they like? My mother is Vanessa Vigeante, a Florist who owns her own shop in Alvadas. My father must have been a Kelvic, and my mother says he was a merchant who was on his way through the city, but that's all she'll tell me. My mother is a wonderful, beautiful woman who cares about me very much and taught me everything I know. I couldn't have been easy for her to raise on her own but she did a great job and I owe her everything. 2. Do you have any brothers or sisters? Not that I know of. I suppose I could have a half brother or sister out there somewhere, but I'm my mother's only child. 3. What is your extended family like? I don't really have one, my mother was an only child and her parents died before I was born. Like I said, I don't know my father so I suppose I could have some extended family out there somewhere but I haven't the faintest clue who or where they would be. 4. Do you consider close friends as important or more/less important than family? I have lots of friends and they can certainly come in handy in a tight spot, particularly in Alvadas where trouble is never very far away. Seeing as I only really have my mother when it comes to family, I would say friends are just as important. 5. Do you treat animals like family? Oh definitely, I kind of am one, after all. I have a group of crows that I like to hang out with around the city, and they have gotten me out of more situations than I can count! They treat me like family, so I don't see why I wouldn't do the same.
Location :
1. Where were you born? Right here in Alvadas, in my mother's flower shop where she lives. 2. Where do you live now? I have my own house in Alvadas now. Sometimes it's close to my mothers shop, sometimes it's not. It depends on the day. 3. If you could live anywhere in Mizahar where would that be? Honestly, I can't imagine living anywhere besides Alvadas. I've heard stories of other places, but they all seem so dreadfully boring compared to my home city. 4. Do you have a favorite place to vacation or spend leisure time? Honestly, I just like to wander the streets of Alvadas and watch people. You never know who you're going to see or where you're going to end up, it's kind of like an adventure! 5. Where do you fear to be? I don't go outside the city very often, it all seems very unfamiliar and scary to me, and besides, there are monsters out there.
Traits :
1. Do you have any physical weaknesses (disease, scars, and missing limbs?) Nope, as of right now I'm perfectly healthy. 2. Are you right handed or left handed? I'm right handed as a girl and right-footed as a crow. 3. What languages do you speak? What do you sound like? Do you have an accent? I speak common and avian, learning another language would take too much time. I've got other things I'd rather be doing. I've got a pretty typical Alvadean accent, I sound pretty much like all the other girls here. As I crow I sound like a pretty typical crow. 4. Do you have any odd mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics? When I laugh I sound like a crow. People don't seem to notice but I think it's embarrassing. 5. Do you have (or want to get) any tattoos or piercing? Why do you have them (or will get them) ? Oh goodness no, that wouldn't work well for me.
Occupations :
1. What is your occupation? I make just enough money to get by doing occasional surveillance for the Listeners. 2. Do you like/dislike your work? Why? I wish I had work a little more often, jobs tend to be few and far between and money can get tight. Besides that, though, it's an incredibly fun job. Watching people is my favorite thing! 3. If you could be anything you wanted to, what would you be? I think I would like to be a listener. All day long just watching people go about their business, it sounds like the best job in the world! 4. What occupation do you admire the most? Why? Oh probably the Listeners, they're so good at seeing things without being seen, I want to be like that someday. 5. What occupation do you least like? Why? I can't stand warriors. I've never run into a problem where fighting was the best way to solve it. There's always a better way to get out of a situation, you just have to be observant enough to find it.
Childhood :
1. What sort of child were you? Oh goodness, I didn't really have much of a childhood. Crows grow up pretty fast. I was a child for about a year, but according to my mother it was one crazy year. Apparently I was energetic and unpredictable, and constantly getting myself into trouble. 2. What is your favorite memory from childhood? I remember feeling very sad one day because I was a crow and not like all the other little children in town. My mother took a book from off the shelf and showed me a picture of Ionu, in the form of a crow. She said it was the god's favorite form to take because crows are clever and bright. I remember feeling so proud that I could turn into a crow whenever I wanted, just like Ionu. 3. What is your worst memory from childhood? My mother didn't trust me not to change around people when I was a child, so she had to keep me away from other people for the first year of my life to avoid suspicion. She told everyone that I had been cursed shortly after being born and that was why I aged so quickly. I remember wanting to go out and play with the other little boys and girls, and knowing that I couldn't because I was different. It was a sad time in my life. 4. What sort of relationship did you have with your parents? My mother and I get along really well, she's a beautiful person and I love her very much. 5. Who was your most influential rolemodel? My mother is really the only role model I had growing up, but I think she was a good one. She taught me patience, perseverance, and most importantly the ability to improvise.
Education :
1. What sort of education do you have? My mother taught me how to read and write, though I'm not fantastic at it. That's about the extent of my formal education, everything else I learned through experience. 2. Do you like/dislike learning? I love to learn, don't get me wrong. I learn all the time from watching people or even just walking around Alvadas. But if I have to learn it from a book, I'm not going to learn it. I hate reading, I hate being inside, I hate being lectured to, all the things that go along with formal education I hate. 3. Where or how did you learn most of your skills/abilities? On the streets. I watch people all the time. Sometimes just watching people do what they do every day can teach you more than anything. And if I couldn't watch someone else do it, I just tried it myself until I figured it out. 4. How do you learn best? By watching. If I can see someone else do something, I'm pretty good at figuring out how to do it myself. 5. What are your educational goals for the future? I'm done with education, I'll learn what I have to when I have to, but education just for the sake of knowing useless things is completely pointless.
Relationships :
1. Do you form close bonds with people? Why? Why not? I love people, but I think I bond more closely to them than they do to me. I find them so interesting and fascinating, there's so much I can learn from them! 2. Do you trust people easily? If not, why not? My mother always taught me not to trust anyone, that being a Kelvic I could easily get taken advantage of. Deep down I know she's right, but I just think that people are so amazing, so deep, and I feel like even the worst ones really just want to do the right thing. 3. Do you consider yourself straight, gay, bi, or something else? I think that I am probably straight, I think men are more attractive, but I really just love people in general. 4. Have you ever been kissed? If so, describe the first time. I haven't, but I think it looks like lots of fun! 5. Have you ever had sex? If so, describe the first time. haha see the kissing question
Drugs and Alcohol :
1. Have you ever been drunk? If so, describe your first time. I went out to a bar the first night after I bought my house and got a little drunk. I had a lot of fun, actually! I'm a bit of a lightweight so I didn't have to drink too much too feel it. 2. Do you like to drink on a regular basis? I will occasionally drink with friends, sure. 3. What sort of alcohol do you prefer? I'm definitely a red wine person. 4. Have you ever tried drugs (mood altering substances)? If so, which kinds and what did you think of them? Not on purpose, but I learned pretty quickly not to eat anything you find lying around Alvadas. I found these berries once that tasted delicious but I spent the next four hours thinking I was covered in tiny, blue rabbits. 5. What do you think of drugs and alcohol? Be specific. People do them, I don't really do them to excess because I always have to be careful not to change around people and I don't trust myself not to, but I don't really have a negative opinion about them.
Likes and Dislikes :
1. What are your hobbies? Flying around above the city, collecting sparklies, watching people, making friends. 2. Do you like to read? Ew, no. Not at all. I never read unless I have to. 3. What annoys you more than anything else? I hate when people ask me too many questions, I don't really like talking about myself. 4. What do you find the most relaxing activity to do? Sometimes I sit on a rooftop where no one can see me and just watch people go by. That's my favorite thing. 5. What kinds of things embarrass you? Why? I'm embarrassed by my laugh, it sounds so much like a crow. I get embarrassed in situations where I don't know what to do and it seems like everyone else does (that happens much more often than I would like).
Favorites :
1. What is your favorite color or colors? I love red, and silver or anything shiny! 2. What is your favorite time of day? I love the morning, right when everyone is getting up and starting their days. 3. What is the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen? I saw a woman come through town once, she was all blue and purple with shiny silver hair and white horns, I think they said she was an Ethaefal. She was so sparkly and bright, but she looked really sad. I think it was how sad she looked that really drew me in, I literally couldn't stop looking at her. That's probably the most beautiful thing I've seen here. Although the winter lights are a close second! 4. What do you like to eat? What do you hate to eat? I eat anything and everything, crows are scavengers, you know. 5. What is your favorite type of weather? Does any kind scare you? I love sunny days because more people tend to be out and about, but I also love cool fall days where you can almost smell the ocean on the breeze.
Outlook :
1. Are you optimistic or pessimistic? Always optimistic, almost to a fault sometimes. 2. What are your religious views? I was raised worshiping Ionu, I still go to the temple sometimes, but not nearly as much as when I was younger. 3. Would you be able to kill? Oh probably, I wouldn't like it but I would if I had to. 4. What are your views on sex? It's a thing people do? In all honesty I don't really think about it much. 5. What, in your opinion, makes a successful life? I'm still trying to figure that out, but I think it involves being happy.
Actions :
1. What is the worst and best thing you’ve ever done? The worst would probably be the time I stole a shiny from the temple of Ionu when I was younger. When my mom found out she yelled and yelled and made me put it back, I've never felt so guilty in my life! The best thing I've done was probably when I helped lead some kids out of the garden of no return. Mazes aren't all that hard to figure out when you can fly 2. What is your greatest regret? I really regret not having a childhood. Kids don't realize how lucky they are, having years and years to just be a kid and not have to worry about anything. There are so many things I wish I had done when I was a child and could get away with it, but I didn't have enough time. 3. What is your best/worst memory? My best memory is of my very first festival of illusions! Everything was so crazy and topsy turvy and exciting! I had so much fun, I can't wait for the next one! My worst is when I was flying around the city with a crow friend of mine when a hawk swooped down and snatched him out of the air. It was the first time I'd ever experienced death and it really took a toll on me. I wouldn't come out of my room for days. 4. If you could change one thing about your past, what would it be and why? I would have been a kid for a lot longer. Being grown up and having to make money is kind of a bummer. 5. What are you the most proud of doing in your life? I am most proud of all the shinies I've collected! I have more than I can count!
Emotions :
1. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings with others? Sometimes I have a hard time expressing what I'm feeling, like I don't really have the words for it, so a lot of the time I don't really talk about my feelings. I don't actively keep them hidden but I don't really go out of my way to talk about them either. 2. Do you have any biases or prejudices? I don't really like hawks or cats. Bad experiences. 3. What makes you happy? People and shinies. The best are people who give me shinies 4. Who or what, if anything, would you die for? I would die to protect my mother or a really good friend, I would die to protect my city too if I had to. 5. What makes you angry? When people are mean or cruel or unfair, when people treat their animals badly, and people who are prejudiced against other people.
Relationships :
1. In general, how do you treat others? I am very kind and friendly, I love my friends and take care of them when I can. I try to be wary of strangers but I love making new friends, so I almost never treat anybody badly if I can help it. 2. Who is the most important person in your life, and why? My mother was for most of my life, and she's still important to me, but nowadays I'd have to say its my friends around Alvadas. 3. Who is the person you respect the most, and why? I don't know if he counts as a person, but I definitely have the most respect for Ionu. He/she's the patron god of Alvadas and I feel like he's always smiled upon the people who get his/her humor 4. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If not, describe an ideal lover. I don't. I think ideally it would have to be somebody I trust, someone who I would feel safe letting know I'm a kelvic. It would have to be somebody who I could be silly and fun with but who could be serious too when he had to be. 5. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why? I was raised not to trust anyone, but I have a lot of faith in Ionu and in the Womiyu to keep me safe inside the city. I think above anything I trust the walls of Alvadas to protect me.
Group Situations :
1. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict? Oh I avoid conflict like the plague, I hate arguing with people and would much prefer to make them smile or not notice me at all. 2. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations? Not usually. I sometimes take a little longer to catch on to what's happening and have a horrible time concentrating on one task. I work better on my own than as a team leader. 3. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not? I love large groups of people! The more the merrier! More people means I can people watch without anyone noticing 4. Do you care what others think of you? Oh yes, I have this terrible need to be liked. 5. What do you think of others, in general? There are very few people I have ever met that I didn't like. People in general are my favorite things.
Self Image :
1. What is your greatest strength as a person? My greatest strength is my ability to adapt. I'm not stubborn or stuck in my ways, and I can take on almost any situation that comes my way. 2. What is your greatest weakness? Probably my awful attention span. I get distracted far too easily. 3. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? I wish I could change my laugh. Instead of that pretty, melodious giggle that most girls have I end up sounding like a crow. 4. Are you generally introverted or extroverted? I'm quiet, but I am definitely extroverted. I love being around people and making new friends and talking to them and learning more about them. 5. Are you generally organized or messy? I'm not very organized at all, but I always manage to find what I need.
Beliefs :
1. What God or Goddess do you find most appealing, if any? I grew up worshiping Ionu and definitely feel the closest connection to him/her. 2. Which God or Goddess do you fear, if any? Vayt scares me to death, and Ssena is pretty terrifying as well. Both of which are big reasons I never leave Alvadas. 3. Do you have any Gnosis Marks? If so, how did you receive them? I don't, but if I got one from Ionu one day I would be the happiest bird in the world 4. What lengths would you go to to please your deity? If Ionu asked me to do something I'm pretty sure I would do it, regardless of what it was. 5. Where do you draw the line at pleasing your deity? What is too much? I don't think I would hurt a friend, but that's about the only thing I would defy Ionu about.
Life & Death :
1. What do you absolutely live for? I live for my city and the people in it. 2. What is the best part of life? Being happy, having friends, feeling safe. 3. What is the best part of death? Death can be a very powerful thing, it can stir up emotions and cause people to find strength they didn't know they had. 4. If you could choose, how would you want to die? I would want to die protecting someone I loved. 5. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death? As someone who cared about the people she loved.
