32nd Winter 512
The forest was all but silent, save for the footsteps of one man and his dog. He was a fairly tall one, sandy hair glinting in the stripes of light coming through the trees, a bow and arrow on his back. The dog was skipping merrily beside him, her pale fur covered with flecks of snow.
This would be the pairs first hunt together. Nate had been training her throuh some sort of play, hiding bones in the trees near the back of the city. She had gotten very good at retrieving things, much like her breed is known for. Nate was hoping that she would be able to collect his kills from a hunt, and this was the day he had chosen to find out.
They kept to one of the small, time-worn paths that wound through the trees. Animals and people alike had stamped it out over amny years, and it was one of the routes more familliar to the young man. Rounding a corner, he heard something moving up ahead, and immediately crouched and slowed his pace. Ashca fell behind him, nose to the ground.
The creature slowly came into view ahead, and Nate relaxed at what he saw. A little white fox was stopped in the path ahead of them, snuffling at the ground. Nate paused in his movents, watching the animal. He had never seen a Talderan Snow Fox in the wild before, just the pelts that people sold in the city. It was a beautiful thing, its coat almost silvery in the light.
Nate stayed still in his semi-crouched position till the little fox moved on into the trees. It was illegal to kill one without the express permission of his Hold.
Once the path was clear he stood and continued onwards, Ascha following in his stead.
