Arandolya
The only limit is the Stars . . .

Timestamp: Winter 85, 512 AV

Arandolya hummed quietly to herself as she walked towards the Stained Glass Gallery. Although today she went to browse the skills of the Inarta, it was not just stained glass she would be looking at. Market Day was today, and it was one of the grandest affairs that every woman, man, and the well behaved child looked forward to. Though she often went to browse the wares, and search for perhaps the odd nick-nack to litter her room with, today Arandolya went with a determined purpose. She carried her shortbow without its string, as that was her reason for visiting today. Though the bow was well, the string was beginning to wear around the nocking point. Worried it might give during a hunt, Arandolya went today to see if one might be available for purchase.

"Greetings, Derdain," Arandolya hailed as she approached. The man turned a cool eye to her after passing a couple Endal through and twitched an eyebrow slightly.
"What are you seeing today?" he asked in his rumbling voice that could have impersonated thunder better than thunder could itself.
"I'm going to Bulls Eye," she stated, raising the unstrung bow she carried with her. Derdain studied her for a moment and then jerked his head in the movement that let her pass. Arandolya nodded and walked into the lively market.

The air immediately engulfed her senses, and sound was almost unbearable as it rushed over her. Arandolya breathed in the scent of spice and food that made her hungry even though she'd already eaten. The woman paused to appreciate the sense of joy that permeated the very air she inhaled before walking towards the third ring where she suspected Bulls Eye would be located.

Arandolya had to wait for a few Endal to take their turns with Vincent, which seemed to take almost a bell. She fiddled with her bow for a few moments, rocking on her heels, and even wandering off to look at other things. Eventually though, the stall was open, and Arandolya seized her chance before another Endal strode over and society persuaded her to let them go first.
"Good afternoon, Vincent," Arandolya said with a friendly smile to the old man who studied both her and bow.
"That's quite the old bow you've got there, Avora," he commented, outstretching a hand to see it. "String break?"
"Not yet, though it appears it might soon," Arandolya responded, looking at the wares he displayed.

Vincent didn't just have bows, though they were beautiful enough to catch the eye, he also had everything you needed to be an archer; arrows, wrist guards, clothes to rub down the wood with, to protect the string ... what did this man not have? Arandolya only hoped he would have some bow string that might be for purchase, and would suit the Yew wood. Vincent traced his hand down the bow, bringing it up to his eye, turning it over in the light. She wondered what he was looking for, but said nothing, feeling invasive at the thought of breaking the concentration he had.

"It is well made, that is for sure. It is getting old though, and I doubt the snap is quite like it used to be," Vincent finally said as he turned his intelligent gaze back to the young woman. "I would suggest purchasing a new bow," he added.

Arandolya frowned at the thought, taking the bow to run her hand along its curve. "Ah, your first bow?" he asked, smiling.
"My mother's, she gave it to me when I was apprenticed," Arandolya explained quietly. Vincent fell silent for a moment, and touched Arandolya's hand where it rested across the wood.
"I would suggest buying a cheaper string, and keeping the bow for memories. If you plan on making a job out of hunting, a new bow should be in order. How long has this one lasted?"
". . . Possibly more than ten years, though it has only been in regular use for about seven," Arandolya said after she thought for a moment. Vincent nodded and shrugged.
"I think it is time for a new one."

Arandolya shifted uncomfortably for a moment, staring at the wood of the bow she'd been using for so long. To feel the string pull back, and the wood spring with her shots, to know her mother had used it the same way many years ago . . . it made her feel connected to the Avora mother she never fully knew. The woman knew Vincent was right though, and she would hate herself if it broke. "Better it preserve it now, than when it is in two," she sighed. Vincent grinned.

"Alright, let's find the perfect one for you." Vincent guided Arandolya through a strength assessment, seemingly pleased with the results. He handed one bow to Arandolya only to have her pull the string, and he would snatch it back with an exclamation it wasn't the right one. She even tried a longbow just to please him, though both of them knew she felt awkward and clumsy with the bow that was almost as big as she was.

Only when Arandolya had wrapped her hands around a composite shortbow of laminated elm did both of them smile. The draw weight seemed a bit heavier than what she was used to, though Arandolya knew she would adjust with a bit of practice. Waving away the offer at arrows, Arandolya inquired about some protective cloth for the bowstring. "What would the total be?" she asked, looking at the bow, old bow strung with cheap hemp, and simple protective cloth.
"Let's say ... 78 pinions?" Arandolya nodded and reached into her much depleted stores of money. If the season went well she would be able to gain her wages and replenish it.

"You're welcome to test it quickly before you leave." A few others had gathered behind her as they waited for the patient attention of Vincent, though Arandolya nodded. As he lent her a blunt practice arrow, Arandolya drew the string with a huff and sighted along its length. She obviously did not release though, instead just relaxing her bow arm to undo the tension in the string, and smiled.
"Thank you so much, it feels fantastic."

With new bow, her old, and a cloth in hand, Arandolya turned away from the stall when a sudden call from behind made her turn. "Sorry, were you talking to me?"

Planning the Great Hunt [Kiran]

Kiran was browsing through the market day stalls, still dazzled slightly by all the bright colors displayed. As and Endal she could have anything shown out by the Avora. Some of them appreciated it when an Endal took something of theirs, their stall therefore got more business. Everyone wanted to wear what the Endal were wearing. Some hated it, they worked hard on their wares and they didn't want them to be just taken away by a greedy Endal.

Kiran was an Endal and therefore didn't feel bad about taking what she wanted, but she was kind too .She tended to tip, especially if the stall keepers were gracious to her. Or if she knew they had children they kept or something else.

She browsed, glad she hadn't decided to come later in the day, when the heat would become an oppressive wave blanketing all under it. Also it meant all the best wares were still there for her to chose from. She was looking around for some extra clothes and perhaps some beads for her hair.

She stopped by Lexi's Leathers to pick up a few Vinati she had ordered from the Avora a few days ago, they were ready and in a variety of colors ranging from ruby red to gold. There was also a new, better, weapon holster there for her to get. It was made specifically to hold both her glaive and her unstrung bow at the same time, the two weapons would make a large X over her back. A small well made leather sheath with a belt completed the pile, it was for her dagger. Kiran looked over the wares, checking for flaws.

Eventually she nodded and pulled out a handful of pinions, she liked Lexi and liked that she made good work for her. So she gave her about ten pinions. The woman nodded, it was less than what she could've gotten but then again the Endal didn't have to pay. And whenever people saw Kiran stopping by her stall and leaving with her work she always had a very productive day.

Kiran left the stall with a pile of five new Vinati with varying feather and eagle designs, a weapon harness custom made for her with her name and Pelyna's face on it along with a blood red dagger sheath with accompanying red belt with gold buckle. She put all of this in the backpack on her back she had brought to hold all of her purchases.

The moment she left three Avora stopped by Lexi's stall to look over her wares.

She stopped again at Bare threads to pick up her matching Bryda orders for her Vinati, she had ordered five pairs that matched the orders she had given for her Vinati. The designs were made to match and compliment her tops and they did. The clothes were gorgeously made, as always. Kiran played with the soft but sturdy fabric as she looked them over.

Ever since she had met Kovac she had been paying much more attention to her clothes and had since started orderings things like these. Her Vinati were mostly strapless, a few were halter. All showed off what cleavage she had. The Bryda were attention grabbing and yet still functional. She had been sure to ask that the clothes be made with strong fabric that would be able to last her day. Kiran smiled at Leyla, who had on a sour face, probably from the party last night.

Kiran didn't stay to negotiate for very long, she just gave the woman her six pinions and was on her way. While she walked through the market place she picked up a small cake and made quick work of it and she also grabbed a handful of green and gold hair beads to add to her the things she already had, she loved to shop. She liked getting new thing, she wasn't yet entirely used to being able to have whatever she wanted. She still remembered being a Yasi and having very little. So she tended to get a little greedy when she shopped.

Finally Kiran made it to her last stop for the day, Bullseye. She liked the shop owner, Vincent, very much. She had left several of Pelyna's smaller dropped feather with him several days before and was now coming to pick up the arrows she had requested.

She stepped in front of several Cheit, Avora and a Yasi and was the firs tn line seeing as no other Endal had yet to come over again. A red headed girl, well that wasn't very descriptive, stood with Vincent as he showed her his wares. Kiran waited with an easy patience as the woman tried to find a new bow. When she finally decided to pull back on it she nodded at Vincent.

Kiran was saddened that the woman didn't shoot, she was planning a hunt for later today and she was looking for capable archers to go with her. She had hoped to see if this woman would be able to hit a target. She called out.

"I said why don't you show us your skills." Kian told her a smile playing at her lips. Vincent recognized the Endal and brought her arrows forward.

"Kiran! Lovely to see you again! My how you've grown," Kiran blushed lightly at this, she had only seen Vincent a few days ago. But still he insisted on acting like a grandfather to her when she stopped by. "I think these arrows are by far my finest. I do hope they serve you well. Take good care of them and don't crush the fletching if you can. And try to get the arrows from the kills if you can. " Kiran nodded dutifully at his instruction a smile still on her lips.

"Of course Vincent, you know I will." she turned to the other girl and waved with a hand motioning towards the target. "Well? Are you going to show use Avora?"

Planning the Great Hunt [Kiran]

Arandolya
The only limit is the Stars . . .

When Arandolya turned around she didn't see a fellow Avora, or a friend, or even a Dek with a message. Her sharp golden gaze rested on another face, one of pride, confidence, and one that deserved utmost respect. Endal. A very young one at that. The woman slowly straightened slightly as the Endal repeated her words with deliberate care before being addressed by a doting Vincent, "I said why don't you show us your skills." She turned to speak with the older man, leaving Arandolya to grasp her request.

Show my skills? Her hand ran over her old bow in a subconscious gesture of reassurance. What ever amount of skills she had was not impressive, and decent at best. The moment the Endal spoke of displaying her archery, others turned to her in mild interest as though she must be something good in order to catch the eye of the Wind Eagle rider. Arandolya felt a flicker of nervousness at the thought of shooting on command, even a moment of resent of being commanded to shoot from someone younger.

Her shooting was something . . . more instinctual. Not that she lived within the bow, or was the arrow, or whatever way an instructor tried to make her shoot true. Arandolya saw the prey, raised her bow, and shot. It was a smooth, graceful movement from one standing to the next, from relaxed, to taunt, to relaxed again. A cycle. Natural. It was not something she liked to force, which was probably the reason she was not as good as all her years of practice might lead to in an avid perfectionist.

The young girl was busy though, being lectured in Vincent's amusingly stern manner. Perhaps she could slip away? Being in the limelight was not something Arandolya really liked, and the pressure of others' gazes made her uneasy. She was an Avora, she could easily disappear. "Well? Are you going to show us Avora?" Petch. Too late. Arandolya shifted and nodded with a gracious smile to the younger female.
"Your request is my command, Endal," she mused, nodding a thanks to the offered practice arrow from Vincent once more.

Arandolya didn't believe in standing and staring at a target until you were positive your shot was clear and perfect. That was not how hunting went, and that is not how she practiced. Hunting depended on reaction time as much as it did accuracy. Nocking the arrow, Arandolya quickly gauged the distance of the target. It wasn't far, as even practice arrows could hurt if they hit someone - thus Vincent deemed to keep this one fairly close to his stall to reduce the risk. Even so, Inarta ducked out of the way the moment Arandolya took the arrow back into her hand.

As her fingers touched the feathers, then slid down the wood, Arandolya marveled at the skill put into this simple arrow. It was as straight as could be, and the feathers not a pin out of place. The observations happened quickly, running on a subconscious level as Arandolya focused on the target and its yellow bullseye.

In a smooth motion Arandolya raised the bow she had just bought and pulled back the string with slightly less graceful jerk as she felt the unfamiliar draw weight settle on her shoulders. Closing one eye as she did so, Arandolya had firmly marked the target the moment the feathers brushed her cheek. Breathing out, her bowstring relaxed as her fingers moved away, and the arrow shot down towards the target. The hunter's hand automatically moved to her side, where her quiver normally rested in an attempt to shoot twice in case her first missed. Of course her hand came empty though, and Arandolya awkwardly just brushed her hip and lowered the composite bow, looking to see it if landed.

The arrow hadn't gone too far from the middle, straying on the edge of the yellow marked area into the surrounding band of red. Frowning slightly, Arandolya noted she'd gone too far to the left, as she often did in feeling she needed to compensate for the sway to the right she instinctively did by using her right hand as the bow hand. "Mm, I need to stop doing that," she muttered to herself and shook her head as she moved to retrieve the arrow. "Perhaps you might show us better, young Endal? I am no where as good as you must be," Arandolya added with a smile over her shoulder, gently wriggling the arrow free and returned it to Vincent's loving hands.

She swore the wood that came out of his stall was an extension of himself, and more precious than his own soul. With this in mind, she brushed a hand over the new bow in appreciation, but forced her focus back to the female in front of her. Smiling, Arandolya unstrung the bow as she waited for the Endal to either scoff at her, walk away, show her up, or a mixture of the three.

The Avora took a while before complying to her request, something that displeased the young Endal. She wasn't used to people disobeying her or not jumping to do what she asked, even if they did it grudgingly. Luckily a group of people had gathered, it would be a loss of face if the woman walked away. And with so many witnesses for her insubordination Kiran would have every right to meet out punishment to the woman, even if she was her senior.

Good, Kiran thought when the woman smiled and nodded, she knows how to follow orders. Although Kiran wasn't sure if her comment was sarcastic or not, she took it at face value though, it would cause less trouble that way and she couldn't justify getting mad at a girl for that, well she could but it wouldn't look good.

Kiran watched her form, she herself was only a novice and knew she had a lot to improve upon. A result of trying for three weapons at one time her skills were spread out among the three, she thought she could learn something from the girl if she watched her. If she was good. The woman pulled back the bowstring with grace Kiran herself did not posses, although the slight difficulty of using a new bow was obvious in her posture. The moment the fletching brushed the woman's face the arrow was gone, to thunk close to the middle. Kiran was watching the arrow's flight like most others, she kept her green-gold eyes on the woman as she reached for where her quiver likely hung on hunts, finding it empty her hands dropped. That was good, she had the instincts Kiran needed in a hunting partner, she looked at the arrow, and the skill.

Perhaps if she had this Avora come along she could learn a thing or two from her, it would certainly be worth it to learn from someone who couldn't mock her lack of skills. She rarely asked for help from other Endals, as one of the youngest of the caste she had a lot to prove to the older one's and they would use any excuse to make fun of her lack of skills in things they had long ago mastered. She would show them though. She would.

Kiran's eyes sharpened and her face hardened. What the woman said couldn't be taken as a direct insult but it was a challenge, something she didn't want to get from an Avora. Like she had any right, if Kiran shot she would make a fool of herself. Of course she could likely best the girl if it came to a fight with her glaive, no one knew how to fight with polearms, Kiran liked it because you could use it while in the saddle. There were threats in the sky as well as the ground, it also made up for her height problems.

Kiran shook her head and gave the girl a patronizing smile. As if she was child asking a silly question of a parent.

"Why should I show off my skills for you Avora? Be content to know that a Wind Eagle chose me, I am obviously well skilled enough for him. Or would you like to question my Wind Eagle's judgement? Or his sister who also requested a bond with me?" that was something she knew would shock the woman into awed silence, it always did. Years ago when Kiran had become an Endal she had chosen her eagle from two siblings who both wanted her. She had chosen Pelyna, a calming match to her wild, passionate ways. But his sister was a fierce eagle, one who would not take insult well. Kiran was the only Endal who ever chosen her Eagle, that she knew of.

Also everyone in Wind Reach knew it didn't take much to get a Wind Eagle to look at a non-endal as a snack, someone who insulted their intelligence by questioning their choice in rider would undoubtedly suffer grave consequences.

Kiran, deciding the woman had had enough time to take in the threat continued.
color=#e35407]"I need a hunting companion, your skills are satisfactory. I'll be leaving early tomorrow morning."[/color] What she wanted of the woman was obvious, but she wasn't going to directly ask her to accompany her.

"Why should I show off my skills for you Avora? Be content to know that a Wind Eagle chose me, I am obviously well skilled enough for him. Or would you like to question my Wind Eagle's judgement? Or his sister who also requested a bond with me?" The words were tossed with the airy nature of haughty Endal, and Arandolya quirked an eyebrow. Request a bond? Although surprised, Arandolya managed not to show it, simply shrugging lazily.
"You take offence quickly, Endal, though I meant none," Arandolya said easily, leaning her weight back onto her other leg as she looked at the young Endal.

Feisty, and full of herself. Flaunting the fact of a double bond in everyone's faces. She suspected they wouldn't get along. Arandolya looked at the young girl critically for a moment, wondering what was so special about the tiny thing in front of her that Wind Eagles never found in herself. Not only chosen by one, but torn between two. It was a special honor, and Arandolya reluctantly acknowledged this young girl would one day be something great. Something burned within her eyes that set Arandolya on edge, a challenge perhaps? A need to prove herself? An Endal so young would have that understandable thirst, trying to show the older ones she was as much worthy of the attention as others. Arandolya knew the feeling of wanting to prove yourself. Show that you are worthy, whether it of simple rank, or your Wind Eagle.

Being a solo hunter within Wind Reach was no simple task as they were often the brunt of Endal jokes, "the fallen" of the sky-hunters. Many were considered wanna-bes, and the Dek of Endal. It was not an easy way to make a living, yet the hunters worked hard to help feed the mountain people and keep their heads high. In the face of Endal though, they had no choice but to bow and take any punishment they might duel out on whim.

"I need a hunting companion, your skills are satisfactory. I'll be leaving early tomorrow morning," the girl continued, obviously meaning Arandolya to be the companion.
"I'm honored," came her soothing voice as she bowed her head. Though her mind grit to attend to another Endal - she really was starting to dislike them - Arandolya only smiled kindly at the younger hunter. "Perhaps then I shall see the skill so worthy of an Eagle," she added sincerely, bowing once more.

She stroked the wood of her old bow and waited for the Endal to leave, as was customary. For Arandolya to turn her back to the young Endal and simply walk away would be dangerously rude, and frankly Arandolya had had enough of insulting the Endal caste for the season, as she was already in someone's servitude. Blinking a passive golden gaze, the lean woman watched the girl patiently, holding a calm aura around herself as she faced the girl of the sky.

Kiran was a little disappointed by the woman's lack of enthusiasm at her words. Although the people still around had obvious looks of awe on their faces. It was quite plain what thoughts were going around in their heads 'How amazing of a warrior and hunter must she be to have gained the attention of two Eagles?' But the Avora in front of her had no such expression on her face. The Avora even had the audacity to criticize her. Although it was a criticism she had heard several times from her more soft tempered bond mate, Pelyna. He told her she was easily made angry, although that was balanced with her other emotions which were just as easily brought up as her anger.

Kiran noticed she was beginning to hold a grudging respect for this woman who could show slight insult without any evidence of it. She had to know she was playing with fire by egging on an Endal, even one as young as Kiran. Even if she wasn't doing it on purpose she had to see the way she said things would rub the young girl the wrong way, prudence would demand her to keep her mouth shut. Yet she did not.

This was probably the only thing that stopped Kiran from getting truly angry at the woman, this curiosity at an Avora who would actually stand up to her, it was so different. But such novelty could easily run out, for now the fact that she stood up to Kiran even so slightly was what kept the Endal interested and not handing the woman her punishment.

Kiran smiled slightly at the soothing tone the woman took as she agreed to go on a hunt with her. Well she was being good, that was something. And when the woman bowed Kiran's smile grew. She never got sick of that, being bowed to or shown such obvious respect by others.

Kiran nodded and held up a hand to the woman, motioning for her to wait as she turned to Vincent to take her arrows and she handed him four pinions, she didn't have to give him anything really and there were only about sixty arrows in the bag. But they were custom made for her specifically.

Kiran gave Vincent her thanks before turning back to Arandolya and motioning for her to come with Kiran. Kiran began to walk, and when the woman caught up as was required she began to talk.

"Before we go off tomorrow I need to first see if my Eagle will permit you to ride him, he has to like you for this to happen." Kiran snatched two sweet cakes from a vendor selling sugary treats. "Want one?" Kiran asked the woman offering her one, waiting for her reaction. If she was smart she would take the offered cake and not gripe over the theft from the vendor. Kiran herself began to eat the cake, loving how the sugar coated her throat and tongue. It tasted slightly of some berry or anther, which Kiran adored. The cake was finished in no time and she was left with sticky fingers she licked clean without a thought.

Kiran led Arandolya through the market to the exit, and if the woman stayed with her she'd keep heading toward the aeries where her home was so she could introduce her hunting partner to her eagle, Pelyna.

Noticing the smile that overlook the Endal's face when she bowed, Arandolya knew her previous assumption was correct. This was a child who wanted to prove herself a woman, worthy of her Eagle, and rank within society. She couldn't fully blame her, though, for being so . . . sensitive seemed a nice diplomatic word. Arandolya couldn't blame her for anything, actually, since this young girl could tell her to kiss her hand and the Avora would have little choice but to obey. Usually such show of rank was not common, as the caste system was clear, but the possibility of any request being carried out hung over every citizen's head that was not Endal.

The Endal tipped Vincent, oddly kind, and moved off, motioning for the woman to follow. Biting back a sigh, the Avora had no choice but to bow her head to Vincent and fall into step beside the young one. "Before we go off tomorrow I need to first see if my Eagle will permit you to ride him, he has to like you for this to happen," the girl said as she walked, reaching out to take two cakes from a vendor as they passed.
"You honor me to allow me to be within both of your company, young Endal," Arandolya noticed she didn't tip this one, and subtly threw him a pinion as they walked away. The Endal weren't obliged to pay, though Arandolya knew what it was like to make a living off the bare things you produced, and felt the need to at least give something in return. The vendor seemed surprised, but smiled and bowed his head in understanding, which Arandolya acknowledged seeing out of the corner of her eye with a small nod herself. A favor from one citizen to another, was all the exchange was.

She was talking again, though this time in a less forceful manner, offering a cake to Arandolya, "Want one?" The woman paused before answering, watching at the younger female for a moment. The look of satisfaction on the young Endal's face was hard to ignore as she finished off her treat, and Arandolya only smiled softly.
"It would be rude of me to deny you of such delight, as you obviously find in the treat, I beg you to keep it, Endal," she murmured with a bow of her head.

They walked together in silence out of the market, and Arandolya uncomfortably adjusted the two bows she carried as they made their way towards the girl's aerie. "I am Arandolya," she said absently as they walked, hoping the Endal would return with her name as was expected, since she had nothing to call the girl but 'Endal', not that the girl probably minded such title.

Approaching the aerie, Arandolya seemed more focused, as though her previously distanced and calm attitude sharpened with the presence of the Eagles. Golden eyes intent, the woman felt a small smile tugging on her lips at the thought of meeting another Eagle. No matter how many she met, rode on, or helped to care for, the honor she felt in seeing another filled her anew.

Kiran didn't regularly go out into the city, unless she needed something she was usually out hunting, training or bathing to relax her tired muscles. When she did go out into the city she didn't usually interact with anyone who wasn't a vendor because there was no reason for her to, they were of no use to her. So as a result Kiran was used to being around other Endals and more used to giving respect than getting it. Of course she got it from shop owner but she was used to it at this point.

But that also meant that it was a slightly odd feeling when the woman continued to be so subordinate to Kiran, she had gone on hunts before with Avora but usually she went with another Endal, she wanted to go on this one without another Endal there to ruin her time. So even around other Avora she was used to having to show respect to someone, so this scenario was new to the Endal although she knew it best to not show it on her face.

Kiran nodded absently at the woman's comment, still a little excited about her comments, even if they seemed too subordinate. She was thinking about respect and older Endals, even the ones who were simply older than her but hadn't had their Eagle as long, she had gotten hers some time ago, still saw themselves as above of her. She needed to constantly prove to them she was good enough, she had plans for some intense training in the spring to hone her skills and make herself a force to be reckoned with. But for now hunting and bringing in good kills would have to do.

Kiran watched the woman subtly as she offered the cake, she refused. Of course she said nothing about Kiran not paying, how could she? Kiran knew that was why she wasn't taking the cake, she didn't want to eat something that wasn't paid for. Kiran's eyes narrowed slightly.

"You would refuse a gift from an Endal?" that could be considered rude, to deny a gift someone had gotten for you. And one from an Endal at that! Endal rarely gave things to anyone, most were a greedy bunch, so it was usually best to take what they gave rather than insult them by denying it.

Kiran was happy when they finally left the market, she loved t shop and get whatever it is she wanted for whatever price she decided, but it was starting to warm up in there and she found the stale heat uncomfortable. It was nothing like the clean, cold air of the sky.

Kiran was slightly startled when the Avora spoke without Kiran having spoken to her first, she didn't mind really but it still surprised her. It was to speak her name that she opened her mouth and Kiran realized she had yet to introduce herself.

"Kiran." she didn't elaborate or add anything to it, she just stated her name simply.

Kiran began to get noticeably more happy and relaxed as they got to the aeries, the smell of Eagle always calmed her. Her step sped up as she neared her own aerie and soon she was nearly running, she hated to be parted from her Wind Eagle for too long, bad things seemed to happen when she was away from him. She took a sharp turn into her aerie and dropped her stuff calling out for the Avora to just put her stuff down and follow her.

Kiran went into Pelyna's room and flung herself into the warm feathers of her mount, who had been sleeping. He lazily raised his large head to look down at the little Endal he called his own and let out a quiet chirp.

How was shopping?

Great! I got new outfits, a sheath, some hair beads and some arrows. She didn't mention the Avora, she knew Pelyna could sense her there and see her in her thoughts.

Who's your friend? Pelyna asked as he heard the Avora come into the aerie.

Kiran turned to look for the woman. An Avora followed me home Pelyna, I thought we could take her hunting. she replied with a grin, Pelyna was a small Wind Eagle and he couldn't carry too much weight, so it really came down to the fact of if he thought the woman was light enough. Pelyna was one of the nicest Wind Eagles one was likely to ever meet, he would probably agree to take anyone Kiran asked him to with her. But that wasn't the problem, his weight limit was.

Planning the Great Hunt [Kiran]

"You would refuse a gift from an Endal?" With a large amount of difficulty, Arandolya managed to stay silent, her eyes hardening for a moment before she looked away. The woman grit her teeth against the sharp protest that so dearly wanted to be whirled towards the girl, who was just looking for any excuse to pin Arandolya as a disrespectful Avora that she could deal with. What else could be considered rude? The pace she was walking? The fact she had honey eyes? The bow she held? Arandolya forced herself not to clench up, staying relaxed and passive. She knew she didn't want to take away the pastry in case the Endal only whirled around and threw a fit over not being able to have two, and on the other hand, she simply wasn't hungry. Whatever conclusion the Endal came to had to overlooked, and taken in stride. Breathe.

At one point in her life, passive was all she was. Distant, and calm. Perhaps that still was her, but Arandolya found herself constantly suppressing irritation around these Endal. When had this rebellion taken over her spirit? The spirit of a proud Avora that was taught not only by her mother, but her teachers of the respect granted to the Endal. The trust. The love they all must have for these Wind Riders. Yet, Arandolya chose to not speak, lest she speak out. Perhaps the Endal finally hitting the last nerve with playing on her hunter status did it? Was A'tier really to blame for this? Was this new Endal?

They were all trained to be haughty, superior, and high-class. Because, that is what they were, what made them Endal besides the fact of their mount. In Arandolya's eyes they had begun to lose their individualism and become one spirited nature that she found herself slowly unable to tolerate. But, why shouldn't they be what they are? They practically carried Wind Reach on their shoulders, and Arandolya knew hunting was no easy task - Wind Eagle or not. They deserved the respect given, and somewhere Arandolya truly did admire the caste. Maybe it was them. Maybe she was jealous. Maybe, she just wanted to know that rudeness didn't apply to all Endal, for once. Was there a nice Endal out there?

In all reality though, this little Endal was nice. She tipped a vendor, took notice of an Avora, and offered to take her hunting. In all reality, how was that not nice?

"Kiran." A name to place to the girl, finally. Arandolya looked over and nodded her head once.
"Pleasure, Endal Kiran," she murmured as they approached the aeries.

Kiran barely acknowledged her now as they entered the realm of the Wind Eagles and their proud riders. Gaining a new glint to her eyes, and a spring in her step, Arandolya lengthened her stride slightly to keep up with the bouncy girl. As the Eagle and Rider reunited somewhere deeper in the aeries, Arandolya was commanded to drop her things and join them.

She set her two bows and the protective cloth down with a gentle, absent hum, continuing on the quiet music as she walked to where Kiran was.

Walking into the room, Arandolya wore the air of respect, awe, and gentle calm that often enabled her to treat fledgling Wind Eagles with little trouble. They seemed to thrive within the passive nature, and loved her polite attitude, allowing her to stick a finger into their beaks to part it with little worry. The same demeanor was always safe to assume with full-grown Wind Eagles also ... and their Riders for that matter, if she was to be honest with herself.

The Avora woman approached with this disposition, though her stride and sharp eyes held a certain amount of confidence and self-awareness she unconsciously wore. Standing at 5' 3" she was tiny for a hunter, though her build was lean from running and carry prey. Arandolya blinked her deep golden gaze at the two of them for a moment before lowering her head and bowing slightly. "Pleasure to meet you, Wind Eagle," she said. "And an honor to be in both your presence," she finished as she raised her head and stood straight.

Planning the Great Hunt [Kiran]

Kiran looked into the woman's honey colored eyes for a few moments before shrugging her shoulders and pausing to hand the pastry off to a small Yasi. The little child just stared at the Endal who didn't look back or give any explanation for the unexpected treat, she just kept walking. If Kiran had wanted another cake for herself she would've taken three cakes. As it was she was rather full.

Kiran nodded absently at the woman's comment using her name, she wondered how much longer before the title Endal being used in every sentence to refer to her would begin to annoy her, Endals didn't refer to each other as Endal, who would they? They just used names, unless it was a person of higher standing. Flight Leaders and such.

Once Kiran had reached Pelyna and was comfortably snuggled up in his feathers and had explained the woman's presence Pelyna turned to look at her as well. The raptor's gaze was piercing but held kindness in it, kindness you would see in his rider if one took the time to know her. If one took the time to get past her desperate attempts to prove herself. Pelyna was a good balance for Kiran herself, kind and nurturing he was always worrying, a mother hen figure for her. He was the voice of reason when she wanted to act rashly and do stupid things. He was the one who worried about her when she didn't have the sense to worry about herself.

But like any Wind Eagle he was still a predator and capable of being vicious, cold and cruel. If the situation called for it. Right now though the woman was being passive and respectful, she gave no reason for the normally calm and hard to anger Pelyna to be vicious.
Tell her to come closer. Pelyna asked his rider through their link as he stretched his neck to look at the woman.
Don't eat her. Kiran warned him as she stood and looked into his eyes. he hadn't eaten any humans yet but she had seen plenty of other Wind Eagles do it, he would if provoked. A silent agreement was sent across their bond and Kiran nodded, she would never tell the Avora that she was making sure she was safe, she didn't need to know.

Kiran turned to the woman and motioned her closer.
"Come. He wants to look at you." she paused then looked back at him and back at the woman. "His name is Pelyna." she nodded and Kiran went around to get closer to her mounts head. She laid a hand on it as he lowered it almost subconsciously so his rider wouldn't have to reach too far, it was obvious he had been around her for some time.

The size of her eagle seemed to be a perfect match for the tiny Endal, Pelyna was built for speed and dexterity, not brute strength. He would be considered small if put next to any other eagle but none would call him puny, elegant was a word that fit the Wind Eagle without question.

Kiran grabbed the woman's hand when she was close enough, the young Endal had lost some of her superior air she had carried out in the market place, likely because she was not under the eyes of others. Here she was with someone who loved her without a doubt, someone she didn't need to prove herself to. So some of her arrogance slipped away.

Kiran gently took to woman's hand and laid it on Pelyna's chest, where his dark feathers held a slight purple tinge. The feathers were silky and soft. Kiran didn't turn to look at the woman as she brought her hand to her mount's chest, she kept her eyes locked on Pelyna's, she didn't usually take passengers and she wasn't entirely sure as to how Pelyna would take her, if his instincts would override his personality or not.

But as she looked into his eyes nothing flickered in his eyes, the same warmth she was used to looked back at her.

Trust me now? He inquired, his mental voice slightly amused. But there was the smallest twinge of hurt in there as well, hurt that this rider still didn't trust him. It had been nearly a year since the release of Ivak, but still Kiran didn't fully trust Pelyna again.

Kiran didn't reply to him as she looked back at Arandolya and gave her a slight smile of reassurance. "Well apparently you don't look appetizing enough for him to eat you." She informed the woman as Kiran looked back up at Pelyna.

She's light enough but I don't think I could take all the supplies you need as well, maybe your weapons but nothing more.

Kiran looked back at the woman after Pelyna's comment. She sighed, that meant they'd need a Dek, maybe two, to carry their things down to the camp site. They'd first have to find one that ha been out in the wilderness before, which wouldn't be entirely impossible. Some hunters had taken Dek before and as a result some of the Dek had some ability to survive in the wilderness.

"He says you look light enough for him to carry but we'll need to find a Dek to carry the rest of our things to the campsite." She looked at the woman again as she informed her of this, Kiran would probably end up giving the task of getting the Dek to the Avora and she herself would get the requisite food stuffs for them.
