Shiress leaned back as the food was placed on the table "Thank you" she said and gave a polite smile. The meal looked less than desirable to Shiress. She wished she'd have stopped by the registration office and snatched a couple cookies before she had made her way here, but not wanting to be rude, she picked up her utensil and placed a small bite in her mouth. It tasted a bit like carrots with a side of dirt. She forced a swallow and smiled weakly at Richard and began to answer his question.
"Since I rented the room at Travelers Row I've not been anywhere but to The Soothing Waters for Min to..." Shiress placed her hand on her thigh, feeling the bandage beneath her dress. Even to mention her wound brought a rush of dark memories to her mind. Although her memory was broken and a lot of the time she spent in The Bronze Woods she couldn't bring back to mind, but the bits of memory that she did have were utterly evil, but the one memory that was always easily summoned was the morning a young squire found her and gave of himself to ensure she was spared from the grip of death.
She looked over the table to Richard. She sat up straight with a smile trying to compose herself. She didn't want Richard knowing how much she struggled with her memories, nor did she want him to know that her memory was broken and much she didn't remember.
"Min changes the dressing's on my wounds" she continued as if the thought didn't bother her. A tall mug of ale was placed in front of her. She didn't have much experience with drinking ale, given a sip or three from her master's mug before she served it, but she very well knew the effects of it and the absurd joy it seemed to give to it's drinkers. " Oh, I could use this" she thought to herself as she grabbed the ale and pulled it to her mouth, draining half the mugs contents in one gulp. She placed the mug back to the table as she wiped a bit of ale from her top lip. She was filling a bit embarrassed but surprised that the ale didn't taste as bad as she remembered in Sunberth.
" I think a walk around the city would be nice, Richard" she said as she placed her hand over her mouth covering a belch. She smiled sweetly as Richard prepared another healthy size bite from his plate.Taking advantage of Richards momentary look away, she lifted the ale back to her mouth and drained the mug. "I'll forget about The Bronze Woods one way or the other even if it is just for today" she thought. She leaned over the table toward Richard and pointing to the empty mug said "May I have another one of those?"...
