Description: Dragul is a tall, well built, dexterous Akalak. He has a black plated Mohawk, with the remaining sides of his head bald. His skin is deep dark cobalt, and his eyes are akin to ice. His muscles are lean and strong, more befitting a rogue like person than a warrior. He has two scars going vertically across his eyes; the result from his hunt of the Zith, during his Right of Passage. These scars are a constant reminder to him of how close everyone is to losing something. They also add a grim and sinister look to his visage. Otherwise his body is a perfect picture of sculpted muscle like so many other Akalak. |
Character Concept:
Personality: Dragul has a curios nature, but not in the way that a child is curious. It is this curious nature of the world, and the secrets it holds-aside from the stories of heritage-that led him to the worship of Akajia. His “lighter” side has a personality akin to a curious, strong-willed individual with a blunt sense of humor, while his “dark” side has a personality akin to someone who is often suspicious, mildly cynical, and brash. Overall he is not reclusive but often appears as though-and comes across as though-he has an air of mystery about him. People who befriend Dragul though will find that he is calm, cool, and collective fellow. He enjoys displaying his prowess both in mental strength and physical strength. He is loyal to those he deems worthy, and will defend them to the teeth while still trying to retain his air of mystery and lack of caring.
History: Dragul Vhermura was born on the 4th of winter, 444AV. He was born to his father, who had taken him back to Riverfall after his mother died during birthing. His father was a strong, proud Akalak, and taught him much during his early years. He trained Dragul strictly, until eventually he discovered that the boy had a knack for the more dexterous forms of combat. Thereafter he was trained by a good friend of his father. He endured the Rite of Trial, and along with a few other boys of his age, took down a decent sized Glassbeak. Afterwards he declared that he wanted to be trained in the arts of being a rogue/warrior. Over the years he gained such training, and in that training he excelled. Upon reaching his thirtieth birthday he underwent the Rite of Passage. During which he successfully killed a Zith, but only after it rent his face, and left two claw marks that are still scars across his face. For much of his life he traveled the immediate areas around Riverfall, often staying around the city. He snuck around streets and rooftops, enjoying a modest life, and occasional using his skills as a sell-sword for various odds and ends. He had a knack for gathering secrets, and an infinite curiosity for such things. It was that which eventually garnered him a meeting with Akajia one fateful night, on which he was granted the first of her gnosis marks. His father had been getting on in his years after his son’s birth, and he died around the time Dragul was sixty-five, which led Dragul to believe that he was not his father’s only son, but how would he ever know, the man had taken that secret to his grave. If his father had more sons then he had never met them, and they didn’t live within Riverfall, or else he’d surely know. After the visit by Akakia, Dragul decided to embark from his home in Riverfall. He wanted to see more of the world, and the secrets that loomed all around him, and Akajia had told him something awaited him in the frozen north, in Avanthal. He wondered what, and he wondered about all the things the Goddess of Night knew that he didn’t, which was a secret he wished to someday know. Thus with all his possessions and, some money that had been left him by his father-including his father’s Lakan-he departed Riverfall, and made the long journey to Avanthal. It would take him much of a season, thus causing him to arrive in the winter of 512AV.
