Two of Moons

Mortals really were thick creatures, Valanir knew as he let his shoulders tense and release once. Why was he even giving ground to such a sily excuse of a soul? They were cosmic jokes sent down to make parodies of all his thoughts. How in Father's name could've he ever hoped to meet life on the same scale to his own down in this dirtied and wretched street. It was his own fault, he guessed, for being too hopeful of recieving a sign. Leth might've been a good god, but he wouldn't garner to weaklings - it would do the ethaefal well to remember that.

"I'm not asking you to pray to me, silly creature" he'd sigh. Whoever taught her kind to communicate ought to have done a better job. This was funny at best, a crying matter to him. He never said he was a god, merely offspring of one, much like her - daughter of Myri.
"I just asked you to speak to me... given, it was about Leth." and then he'd explain a bit "No need to take insult, I just don't find interest in most things your kind worries about" was it his time to leave yet? He wouldn't answer it just yet.

This conversation seemed to be tiring the mysterious (though now less interesting) stranger. He sighed, and Ayatah noticed how his entire form seemed to… slump, almost.

“I'm not asking you to pray to me, silly creature"

Good, because you’re no God. But she kept the dry humour behind her teeth, and in her mind. Instead, Ayatah listened quietly, her facial expression blank; betraying none of those thoughts that buzzed around her quick-witted head.

"I just asked you to speak to me... given, it was about Leth. No need to take insult, I just don't find interest in most things your kind worries about"

In Ayatah’s view, there was a contradiction to his words, and she delighted in pointing it out. She shrugged her shoulders and a smirk came to her lips, ”How exactly do you expect me to discuss with you how I perceive, relate and feel about your -- father -- if you are not interested in my worries?” She did not seem the least bit insulted at his lack of interest (after all, she was hardly concerned with his thoughts and feelings). Instead, she was more puzzled as to what this stranger wanted from her, and what it would take for the peacefulness of the night to return to her.

Two of Moons

Ticking off the ethaefal seemed to be this... girl's, specialty. It really was time for him to put this interaction in the past and find somewhere else to spend waking hours. Sleep came hard to him in the night, confinement of the roofs harder even, but this mortal still managed to tire him profoundly. Must've been his wishful thinking that got him here. Time for signs had long since went, and the girl failed to exemplify any characteristic and omen should bare. His own damn fault too, to believe he was so important that the world would stop had Leth not sent him down a sign to prove watchful eye. What he got was a brainnumbing eyesore, but he would be rid of that one soon, wouldn't he?

How indeed? How were they to speak of his divine progenitor while not speaking of the little things that worried her even littler head? Valanir must've forgotten somehow her devout worship of Leth's domain; for how could any aspect of her life lack the pressence of his lord, the Moon? Really silly of him, to forget her whole life was based on religion... tugging the rows of his teeth on top of one another, he'd stop thinking. It was quite enough. There was fault to be had elsewhere, and he'd search for it immediately. No fun in provoking further conflict after all. Let her be right, and be on your way... and he would.

"Forgive me then... I must've mistaken you for something else. I'll be on my way then. Good night!" and hopefully it could still be, he thought, disappointment still heavy on his mind.

"Forgive me then... I must've mistaken you for something else. I'll be on my way then. Good night!"

The sudden change in his demeanour and language made Ayatah frown. From her experience, the people that spoke to strangers on a dark night were not the sort to simply walk from them. But she watched him go, half expecting him to turn around and start asking her questions once more.

”Good… night,” she said, possibly not loud enough for him to hear.

What an odd… person… She thought. But as she sat facing the dark sea and sky, Ayatah could not help but feel a little respect for the stranger. Most people did not casually socialise with her, let alone in the dark. And although he was certainly… strange, she could not help but think that maybe she had been a little too defensive.

But Ayatah’s relationships with her Gods were so private, to her at least. All Myrians worship Myri and the other deities, but as usual individuals feel different bonds with different Gods. In Ayatah’s case, this was embodied in her close ties to Leth. Since a young girl, she had found great comfort in the God of the Moon and self-Reflection.

She glanced back to the direction that the mysterious stranger had disappeared into, but he had long ago been swallowed by the darkness.

Oh, Leth, she thought despairingly, I hope I don’t remain night child forever - not with strange company like that. And she returned to her prayer.

oocFeel free to wrap up your half and then I'll submit this for grading. It was fun to have a social thread that didn’t exactly go down well with either PC :D. Let me know if you wanna thread again at some point
