While Sylira is by far the most civilized region of Mizahar, countless surprises and encounters await the traveler in its rural wilderness. Called the Wildlands, Syliran's wilderness is comprised of gradual rolling hills in the south that become deep wilderness in the north. Ruins abound throughout the wildlands, and only the well-marked roads are safe.

~ The bond... Either he knows more about my father what he tells or he really has some special ability to tell it. ~ It was still hard to believe in his eyes but now that he told his name somehow it felt a bit more realistic. It was hard to guess why did this happen but right now he didn't have the time to get back and think about it. When Eida grabbed his hand he realised that he was deep in his mind until her touch like the real word wouldn’t matter. The word "help" echoed in his mind. He couldn't say no to Eida and in the other he was also curious about him and his intentions. After Eida finished talking he introduced himself too.
- Well... hello Sho. - It was a bit hard to speak with someone because he wasn't used to it yet. He only talked to Eida and it was like every day but now it is a stranger, someone who could even sense his feelings. - I'm Arckhebohn, a Kelvic who can turn into a raven. This forest is really dangerous you know, so we will help you to get safety or to find your father. But I do have some questions too. How did you know that this chest is my father’s? You said something about feeling the bond... how did you mean it?
Before answering the child's other question he turned back for a minute to look at the chest. It was right where he put it and he didn't see any changes. He wanted to know what lies in it as well as Sho but he wasn't sure that it's wise to open it yet. He was short of informations and it bothered him a lot that he wanted to know what the chest's contains too.
- Why do you want to know what's in the chest? I only found it so I don't really know what it contains...

Sho looked at them both and appeared ready to cry. It was the pair's kindness that made him so emotional.
"There's no lock, but did you try to open it?" The boy came over, materialising so that he could show them what he meant. The chest wouldn't budge when he tried to open the lid. "It is sealed with magic. I... I felt it because my father made this chest. He makes all sorts of boxes and chests, you see. And he locks them with special magic."
He turned abruptly, eyes gazing into the distance.
"My father... he was in the bone-fields. Do you think something happened to him? He looked down at his own body, and hands, as if just realising he was a ghost. "To us....?"
His hand rested on the chest with finality.
"My father would know how to open it." |

She looked on the chest. She couldn't believe it was locked up with magic. But that boy couldn't lie. He knew something that they didn't. Then she looked back to the boy. It was so sad Eida didn't know what to say or do first. She looked at Arckhebohn for help then tried to comfort the boy. She still smiled at him so the boy couldn't see her true emotions. She kneeled down to him again.
- We can't be sure Sho... Let's find your dad so we can see what's in that chest can't we?
She tried to lie her hand on his shoulder. But failed. Her hand went through him like it was nothing only dust. Not only depressing but cold. Around them the soulmist that he had made the temperature chilly. She took her hand back. It was so depressing and strange feeling for Eida she couldn't say a word. Her smile vanished. They had to solve this situation for the boy and for Arckhebohn. She again looked up to the Kelvic. On her wrist the crescent moon was shining. She used her telepathy with Arkch because she didn't want the spirit to hear it. She didn't want to make him sadder.
~He is a ghost no doubt about it. And maybe his father too. We shouldn't let him know probably not now. We need to find his father so they can rest in peace and you can find out what's in that chest.
She accompanied her thought with the feeling of the worry for that boy. As she sent her thoughts to Arck her mark remained luminous but didn't shine that bright like earlier. She not only sent that feeling she showed it with her eyes. She looked around where they should go ahead and search for his father.

- Magic...?
He couldn't believe in his ears. His first thought was that what is the connection between his parents and magic? He understood the boy's words that his father made this chest but it still felt unreal. Then he noticed that the boy's hand was still on the chest. He shivered. The boy didn't seem dangerous to them but he has never saw an actual ghost before. His mother used to tell ghost stories but he didn't think that it's more than a bedtime story. After that he looked at Eida trying to figure out what the girl might think. He was happy that he is not alone. He wouldn't know what to if he would be alone. ~ Bone-fields? What is that place..? ~ He was thinking about the boy's words. Even the name of the place sounded creepy. He could see or maybe even sense the boy's sadness. After he said that his father would know how to open the chest up he didn't think much about it. He needs to open it and the only way is to find his father somehow.
Before he could say anything it was almost like Eida could read in his mind and said the same think what he would have. The whole situation just started to get even weirder when Eida wanted to touch the boy but instead of that her hand went through his body. He didn't know why because a couple of minutes ago the boy really tried to open the chest to show that it is indeed sealed with magic. He was completely confused.
Before he was starting to lose his mind he heard the girl's voice. He didn't just hear it but felt it too. He was unsure if the girl would hear his answer in his thought so instead of that he looked at the girl that he got his message. It was a bit weird to feel and see the girl's thoughts and emotions but even so it wasn't uncomfortable. He was now ready to answer to the boy.
- I agree with Eida. We'll find a way to help you - he tried to look in the boy's eyes - and then we'll see together what's in this chest. I promise. But to do so please tell us where is this bone-fields...?

"The bonefields are close," Sho said simply, before beginning to wander away and in the direction of thickening trees and vegetation. What was now recognised as soulmist shimmered around him. If the pair chose to follow, they would find the young ghost entering a wooded area. At least that was how it appeared at first. The ground became squelchy. Layers of moss created an uneven plane, and the footing was dangerous. Eventually the boy stopped. A small hollow was visible before them, but a curtain of moss and lichen hung loosely over its entrance. "He's in there," the boy whispered. But it was clear there was something else in there too. A pair of yellow eyes glistened, waiting in the darkness for those unfortunate souls that came upon its lair. |

Eida stood up and looked at the direction. Bonefields. It could be dangerous but she couldn't stand just there and wait for nothing. She followed him to trees. They had to solve it and help them no matter what. Eida started walk harder there. Like a swamp. She stepped back quickly as she wasn't sure what to do. She couldn't walk there with her naked foots. It was easier for her friend though. As she was thinking for a solutation she warned him.
"You should watch over it... the ground isn't solid... use your raven form."
As she warned she was still thinking. There must be a solution. And she found it. Some trunks were there. The moss was on their surface too. But that was the only solution she stepped on it slowly and tried to balance with her hands. Slowly stepping on them and reach the boy. It could be easier in her symenestra form but Syna's domain didn't come yet. She slowly reached the boy on the trunk and she whispered quietly.
"Oh Leth... ask your sister to help us!" |

The place where they were going somehow didn't seem right to Arckhebohn. It was clear to him that there must have been a reason to call it the bonefield. Because of this he was observing every little detail to make sure that they won't find any unfriendly creature or obstacle on the way. It didn't take long until they arrived at his father's place. Or at least as the boy said it was. He was aware about the ground long before Eida told him but it wasn't special nor much dangerous. He knew this kind of nature and he didn't like it. He nodded to Eida that he understood it and then began to look carefully the hollow.
The night wasn't the best but at least - as Eida would say - Leth was guiding them. Still the trees didn't let the whole moonlight through. No matter how sharp his senses might have been it was just like - or maybe worse - at night. ~ So what now? We don't really have anything to make light. And who knows what's inside? No matter how much I want to open that chest I can't forget about my father's teachings: "Never rush! Especially when you have to because that way you only will be more danger than you were!" ~
- I don't really like narrow places. Would it be a big problem to call you father out..?
