Kane Race: Human Birthday: 14 Winter 492 Gender: Male Caste: Chiet Job: Writer for the Enclave Physical description Brown hair Greyish blue eyes 5’ 7” 159 pounds Lightly tan Personality Kane is the kind of person who really doesn’t get attached to others easily. As such, he finds betraying others to not be much of a problem and does as often as it benefits him. He can be very sarcastic and often pokes fun at anyone and anything he can. He likes to find the humor in different situations and can make others laugh if he wants to. He often uses his intelligence to trick others into doing what he wants and he has many people who hate him because of this and the situations he’s gotten them into. Trust is not something that he generally gives to others. It takes a lot to actually earn his trust, and most people stop trusting him before they even get close. Despite all these traits, if he does get attached to and loyal to someone he will stick by them no matter what. This however would take a very long time for another person to achieve. Also, be warned, Kane tends to ramble. Whether it be in his head or out loud, rambling is something that should be expected of him. Ethics Kane has his own set of morals that don’t really make sense to others, unless they take the time to really get to know him. He doesn’t really care about other people and will betray them at the drop of a dime if it would be an advantage for him. He has no problem with using other people or tricking them to reach his own goals. The only people exempt from his manipulative ways are his family or those he considers to be family. No one messes with his family or he gets spiteful and in many cases he will go so far as to take revenge. Likes Kane really just loves working on things in general. In fact, many would consider him to be a workaholic seeing as he is always doing something or other. He enjoys working with his hands to create machines and finds their inner workings to be fascinating. Sitting on the side of a road in a crowded city and watching the people that walk by while he works on some inane object has always been one of his favored activities. He studies the people in cities and has creeped out many innocent bystanders. Though he hasn’t been able to study them like he wants to, the different languages that people speak are incredibly interesting to him as well as the cultures of different races. Despite his usual dislike of most people, he loves to learn about them. Kane enjoys practically every different kind of food and loves trying new dishes he’s never heard about before. He plans to travel to learn more about the rest of the world. Dislikes Kane has a very distinct dislike of fighting, mostly because he’s absolutely horrible at it. He would mush rather prefer to trick others into fighting his battles for him or finding a clever way to run away. He has a general distaste for most people. Even if he doesn’t outright hate someone, he at least has a feint dislike for them. More then any other people, he hates children because he thinks they’re annoying and loud. Being late and other people being late are two things that he hates. It drives him crazy to deal with either of these situations. One of his personal enemies his whole life has been the cold. It has an odd effect on him, and not in a good way. Character History Kane was born in Syliras where he lived with his family until he turned seventeen. He left the city because of some trouble that he got into and went to explore the world. He was able to join a pirate ship that had been docked near Syliras at the time. After living on the ship for two years, he was dropped off on the shore of Kalea on the stretch of land above Alvadas. From this point he began traveling to Wind Reach and has just reached the city. Family Kane and his three older brothers grew up under his father’s care because his mother died when he was very young. Two of his brothers are very good fighters while he is not, and thanks to this, he was teased his whole life. Eric: The oldest brother, Eric had always been very good with swords. This naturally lead to him wanting to train to become a knight like his father. A large portion of his time was spent training, trying to perfect his skills. It was worth it for the progress, but he was a bit sad that he had so little time to spend with his brothers, so he cherished the times he did have. He had been very happy growing up, often taking the time to bask in the sun when he wasn't busy. Eric had a very kind nature, and often could be found with a smile on his face. When each of his brothers were born he had sworn to himself to protect them, a vow which has several times almost landed him in trouble. There was always room for a little fun, and Eric delighted in finding ways to tease his younger siblings, though they could become rather harsh at times without him realizing. His relationship with Kane varied almost every day. On the best days, Eric could worry over his youngest brother and jokingly bemoan the horrible state his brother's hair was in. Kane would always protest, saying his hair was amazing, and Eric was just jealous. Eric would gasp and cover his heart in mock pain. On the worst days they fought like dogs, tearing each other down with the worst words they could think of. They always apologized to each other after, though never with words. Morris: Morris, the second oldest, was always very relaxed. In all honesty, he had no idea what he wanted to do when he grew older, and he was fine with that. Surely he'd come across his calling eventually. When addressing someone, more often than not, he would call them by some odd nickname he'd thought up on the spot. Some of them stuck, mostly to his brothers, much to their humiliation. Possessing a grin that would put even the most hardened warriors on edge, Morris had often times been labeled creepy. Not that he minded, he kept up well with having friends and was surprisingly popular. A naturally good speaker, he could often enthrall people in the stories he would tell, whether they be mundane tasks such as fishing with his family or a tale of adventure and mystery. He got along well with his family, but had always been a bit closer with Kane, mostly because he had more time to spend with the youngest brother. They often just sit together, Morris always willing to listen to Kane ramble on about whatever he found to be interesting that day and Kane loving to hear his brother tell epic tales. Asher: As third oldest, and resident grouch, Asher often did his best to outdo his brothers. He had always had a very competitive nature and, seeing the attention Eric gained from his skill with the sword, Asher aspired to work to become even better than his eldest brother. This led to a sort of rivalry between the two of them, one which Asher took very seriously. Eric not so much; he mostly found the whole situation to be more amusing then anything else. Asher works tirelessly at his training, often times having to be drug inside at night to eat and sleep. Like their father, Asher was very set in his beliefs, and was equally less likely to sway from them. Most of his time spent with Kane was geared towards friendly competitions for who could out snark the other, or make sarcastic comments about anyone who happened to pass by. Father: His father had always cared very deeply for all his boys, and truly would have done anything to keep them safe. He had a strong moral character, and wasn't willing to budge on what he believed in. All of his sons had caused some amount of trouble for him every now and then, but the youngest, Kane, was the most consistently difficult. He was happy that two of his sons aspired to follow his footsteps into knighthood, and often worked with them to hone their skills. Generally rough in his ability to speak, he often said things that sounded completely different then what he had been intending to. Kane and his father often found themselves at a lack of understanding each other, leading to many negative feelings. Kane had always had lingering doubts, always so sure he was a disappointment. His father though, had never felt disappointed in him, only with many of the choices that he made. It most likely did not help that most of Kane's actions were disappointing and he found himself lecturing his youngest son more then anything else, which only lead to more negativity between them. His father had many times found himself saddened by his inability to talk, and really connect, with his youngest. His family had no knowledge of his leaving of the city until after he was gone. (Work in progress) Animal Companions Ansel: Kane has a dun colored gildling horse. He named the horse Ansel on a whim, having liked the serious nature of the name. Ansel, however, does almost nothing to live up to his name. A general jokester by nature, Ansel loves to play tricks on his rider, much to Kane's chagrin. He doesn't like staying in one place for too long, and can often get antsy when left in stables for too long. Saul: During his travel to Wind Reach, Kane came into possession of a dog. He named him Saul, which he thought to be a very strong name. With his black shaggy hair, Saul at first glance appeared to be nothing but a mutt, but upon closer inspection, one can see the strength of steel in his bright blue eyes. Kane hadn't been sure what had initially drawn him to the dog, but after traveling with him, he understood. Saul had a very similar character to Kane's father. The only exception being that Saul hadn't the same bark as his father, metaphorically and literally speaking. Any time Kane gets drunk, he always ends up hugging his dog while crying.
