While the female residents of Riverfall remain in the minority, there will always be a need for women to meet and relax without the watchful eye of men. Nakivaks, wives, women young and old, are all welcome at the Sapphire Star. Men are not permitted in any form inside the club. Riverfall in general respects the privacy of the Sapphire Star, and no man is willing to incur the ire of the already slim female population by intruding. On the very rare occasion a man tries to sneak in, they are met by a firm tossing out by the bulky Akontak bouncer, Lika. Many informal gatherings, such book clubs and support groups, meet regularly at the Sapphire Star. Mos’rila, owner of Godiva Refuge for Women, is a regular customer, as well as many of the female business owners of the city. The club is located on the uppermost tier of the city, looking out over the rest of Riverfall and the Bluevein. From the outside, the building looks small, but cozy. There are few windows facing the street and those are curtained. Inside, one comes to a coatroom, commonly inhabited by Lika to take coats and screen for intruders. Once inside however, the lounge area is very spacious, with a bar and tables to the side. Around the sides of the building facing away from the street are wide windows with a beautiful view of the city. Subtle lighting gives the interior a soft feeling, with plush cushions and rich colors everywhere. The occasional book sits on the coffee tables, available for anyone, so long as they don’t remove it from the club. There is a rounded balcony to the back, with wood carved tables and chairs. The deck is closed in winter, and during inclement weather. In the center of the room is a section screened off on all sides, where a musician plays in the evenings. If the musician is female, she may perform from one of the couches or seats in the club. However, since many of the talented musicians in Riverfall are male, they play behind the screen, where drinks and tips are passed through an opening in the side. Drinks and snacks are served with special emphasis on items for the more delicate palette. Twice a season, the club holds a special night where all drinks and snacks are half off. Carla Heshin
 Name: Carla Heshin Race: Human DoB: 1st of Summer, 472AV (Age 40) PoB: Ravok Title: Owner Skills: Leadership 61, Dance 54, Weapon: Dagger 46, Socialization 39 Gnosis: None Additional Info: Carla was born in Ravok to a poor family. When her parents were found dead in an alleyway, victims of a mugging gone wrong, she survived as long as she could on the streets until she was caught and sold into slavery. Bouncing around from master to master, she finally ended up in Riverfall where the Council bought her contract. The profits from the Sapphire Star go directly to the Council to pay off her debt. To anyone who asks, it is a delicate subject that she appears to be ambivalent about, saying only that the mizas she pays are a small price to pay for her freedom. She initially intended the Sapphire Star to be a general lounge, but her close friend Lika gave her the idea of having a place exclusively for women to mingle. Lika and Predera Kibraxa
 Name: Lika/Pradera Kibraxa Race: Akontak DoB: 1st of Summer, 471 (Age 41) PoB: Riverfall Title: Bouncer Skills: Intimidation 79, Observation 71, Unarmed Combat 56, Body Building 50 Gnosis: 1 Ennervism, 1 Night Stalking Additional Info: Lika was born to a prolific Akalak and Konti pair, the youngest in a line of five older brothers. All her brothers were exceptional warriors, leading Lika to follow in their footsteps. She is serious to a fault, and is pointedly lacking any sense of humor. She has a soft spot for Carla alone, and has manned the doors at the Sapphire Star since the day it opened. Pradera can get violent if an intruder is caught, but otherwise she and Lika have a productive relationship. Lika is a Nakivak of her own volition, swearing to anyone who asks that she’ll never take a husband. There are many rumors that she is sevetal, with more than just a soft spot for Carla, but neither admit anything untoward. Prices
