Northwind Suites is a small boarding house specifically catering to the musical community in Riverfall. It’s a small, squat house, with only 15 rooms, but those who have lived there speak of a wonderful sense of community Northwind generates. Many who ear enough money to move out of Northwind often buy a house nearby, and continue to frequent the common room. Partnerships and collaborations are built here, and musicians of all instruments and talents can find a room here. All hours of the day, and often late into the night, music can be heard emanating from the building, though the particular acoustics of the interiors make it difficult to pinpoint where a particular song is originating from. The rooms themselves are small and sparsely furnished, but are protected from noise from outside and other rooms by extra thick walls. If one wishes to hear the ambiance of Northwind from their room, it is a simple matter of leaving the door open. The courtyard is dingy, but it is clear effort has been made to spruce it up with plants and decorative elements. Spare furniture from various rooms end up under the front overhang, often moving in and out on a daily basis. Inside, the front hall allows on to break either to the right or left. To the right: a long hallway that curls circular around the inside of the building, with entrances to each of the tenants’ rooms. On the left side of the building are the kitchen, common room, and landlord’s office and rooms. Every where and every thing has the impression of being old and well near its breaking point, but like the courtyard, cared for with love and effort to make the best of what’s there.   Keket and Kebrat Ximphar Name: Keket/Kebrat Ximphar Race: Akalak DoB: 22nd of Summer 340AV (Age 172) PoB: Riverfall Title: Landlord Skills: Musical Instrument: Flute 81, Musical Instrument: Cello 55, Cooking 32, Gardening 31, Weapon: Lakan 31, Socialization 30 Gnosis: 1 Audius Additional Info: Keket was the creative, altruistic soul who had the inspiration to create Northwind Suites. While his brother handles all the unpleasantries of accounting and collecting rent, Keket keeps the place clean and looking good – as much as he can. He loves interacting with the tenants, and is almost always found either in the common room or the kitchen. He’ll often stop by an open door to inquire about the tenant’s music and inspiration, and is always happy to join up for a duet. Kebrat is less enjoyable, and is only truly happy when practicing their music. He is however, and important part of Keket’s creative process, and the pair have produced many musical pieces while working in harmony.   Levrad and Likend Ximphar Name: Levrad/Likend Ximphar Race: Akalak DoB: 50th of Winter, 302AV (Age 210) PoB: Riverfall Title: Landlord Skills: Musical Instrument: Violin 80, Musical Instrument: Trumpet 49, Leadership 35, Carpentry 32, Weapon: Lakan 31 Gnosis: 1 Audius Additional Info: Levrad can come across as a very stern figure, and many are shocked to hear he and Keket are even related. While Keket had the inspiration to start Northwind, it was Levrad who had the discipline and planning to pull the idea together. While Keket keeps the place looking nice and full of tenants, Levrad keeps the books balanced and the repairs fixed. He rarely offers to join for a duet, but can be tempted on occasion. The extent of the social interaction he offers to tenants is a critique of sheet music, which is universally acknowledged as honest and entirely correct, but harsh. Likend and Kebrat get along better than Levrad and Keket do, and if the pair are playing together in the common room, a momentous and beautiful occurrence, Likend and Kebrat are usually behind it.   Rates Owning: 400st ft Apartment: 500gm 600st ft: 700gm Renting: 400 sq ft: 4gm/day While living at Northwind Suites, you must be at either Common or Good level living. Rent is collected at the end of the season, and is due to Levrad. You may be able to campaign for an extension from Keket, but if you are half a season overdue, you will be expelled.   Food Meals are served on a house-special basis, though you may request a special dish from Keket for an occasion.
