Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

Gideon's Glory

Four years after the creation of the Arena so named for Chivan's friend, Vayne found that the popularity of the Arena brought with it the necessity of preparation. The chambers meant for a fighter to prepare for a battle was simply not adequate for the physical training necessary to insure optimal performance. Also, the influx of challengers caused many of the City's other training facilities, such as the Sasarans, to be often overcrowded with those who simply wished to exercise and train their muscles.

It was this need that spawned the construction of Gideon's Glory, a single level gymnasium and training facility for the hopeful champions. Since the Akalak call Wysar father, the discipline of routine exercise and body building soon became a constant, much like the specialization of trades and crafts. The facility still finds itself constantly alive with the prowess and focus of the Akalak, as it is open day and night, only closed on Remembrance Day.

Upon approach, one would find first the din of weights and the sounds of warriors pushing their bodies to the limits. The building's exterior is surrounded by a low roof which covers a walking and running track that surrounds it. Inside the double doors of its entrance, the majority of the space is open, with various weights, rope and pulleys, and lengths of chain lined along the walls. The empty space in the center is littered with Akalak and the races of the Kuvan practicing their routines, the center covered in straw mats over stone. Daylight enters through long windows along the upper third of the walls, torches spaced between the windows for night training.

A well was dug in the initial construction of the Glory, feeding off of the Bluevein. It stands against the center of the far wall across from the doors, carved from the stone which the facility is crafted, offering a constant source of hydration for those within. There are only two rooms in the structure, one being storage for the various body building equipment and the other an administration office for Melanos and Ilavik's day to day business duties.

Melanos and Ilavik are a dominating presence, often the first thing seen among the other aspiring body builders and athletes. Standing six and a half feet tall, the two can often be found instructing and encouraging the hopefuls found exercising in the Glory, as it is commonly known. Melanos has a calm and stoic disposition, often counseling those within the halls on their diet, routines and cautioning when to stretch and rest. Ilavik, on the other hand, is usually pushing that extra bit of effort out of every muscle of the trainees, be it through encouragement or intimidation. His booming voice can often be the thing that gets a body builder over the hump into a new weight class.

Melanos does any interviewing or assessments in his office, a simple room with an oversized desk and a few chairs. Ilavik constantly wants his brother out on the floor, pushing the Akalak to be their very best. Melanos respects this but has to constantly remind his dark brother that the Glory is also a business and must answer to the Council like everyone else.
