The Diamond of Kalea is located on Kalea's extreme west coast and called as such because its completely made of a crystalline substance called Skyglass. Home of the Alvina of the Stars, cultural mecca of knowledge seekers, and rife with Ethaefal, this remote city shimmers with its own unique light.

Ahleas Park was a beautiful location, perfect for the class of the day. The trees shimmered in a wide variety of hues, seemingly having absorbed the aurora into their boughs. The fadeong was truly a beautiful sight, one that Quiarinox had great desire to attempt to copy onto her canvas.
She had come alone but with the understanding that she was to return to work promptly once done so that her art could be properly observed and judged if she wanted pay. She had to prove she was doing her job, and her job meant painting.
She had started with the ground. It was white from snow, sparkling in the sunlight, and swept by wind into lovely wave-like patterns around the base of the tree, creating many lees where the wind did not touch. That was easy. She had an abundance of white on her pallet, seeing as she didn't often need it, and attempted to copy what she saw, using her paint liberally (as she was often doing) and then swishing her brush through to mimic the waves. It didn't look half bad when it was done to her biased eye.
Her brush was cleaned and then she began to use blue to paint the water. Because there were no fish in the water, she needn't worry about having to put them in the picture. The blue looked stark against the white, unreal even, but she continued on. She dripped paint onto the snow at her feet and her boots and smeared more on her fingers and hands than she liked to. She cleaned the brush when she was sure she had finished with the clear water, narrowing her eyes and appraising her work thus far. Was thus suitable for selling? Would they like it? It looked a whole lot better than some of her other works, that was for sure, but she hadn't yet the eye to look at her work without bias.
Quiarinox sighed and cracked the fingers of her painting hand, smearing the paint along her fingers onto her other hand, and then she looked around. From the small island in the center of the pond, she sure did have a lovely view of things. That view was a distraction. |

It was Ayda's day off from work and he had no idea what he was going to do with himself. Ayda was getting used to wearing his unflattering work clothes and shovelling Okomo manure. Now that he wasn't being told what to do, he seemed a be lost again. The only thing Ayda could think to do was wonder the city to pass the time, He was not at a loss of things to look at, the city was a beautiful place, filled with all sorts of exotic people and places.
While wondering the landscape of the city, Ayda somehow found himself in a forest. The entire forest was filled with a warm glow of mesmerizing reds and oranges with the exception of the snow covered ground. He spotted a prowling bobcat in the distance and a few Lhavitian squirrels jumping around the trees. The forest seemed oddly familiar to Ayda, He was sure he had been in this forest before but was unable to tell when. It had a lot of similar qualities to the forest he had been in when he spared with the pycon Seeker. This may have been what the forest looked like during the day, with the duel nature of the city this seemed likely a scenario.
Ayda traversed the forest, stopping frequently to look at what the forest had to offer. He loved the cracked and twisting bark of which he was certain was the called Wanamu tree. Ayda had been told of this tree by the natives of lhavit that found him, they said that it had a power that gave a feeling of rejuvenation. Being in his Ethaefal form he had the sun to keep him rejuvenated but he could test this theory when in his mortal form. For now the Wanamu tree was something beautiful to marvel at.
In the distance from his current location he could see a girl painting on a canvas in front of a beautiful pond filled with flowers. The girl seemed to be human but her red hair made it obvious to Ayda that she wasn't a native lahavit. Ayda wondered where she was from originally and what she was painting. When he got close enough he gathered up the courage to start a conversation with the girl. "um..good evening..I do not mean to intrude but what is it you are painting?"Ayda said hesitantly he hoped he was not disrupting the girls focus, he just couldn't help his curiosity.

Quiarinox's mouth curved with distate at the sight of the creature who addressed her, having first suffered the indecency of shock before craning her head around her easel and looking for her intruding inturrupter. A Sunborn stood there, sheepishly watching her, and she narrowed her eyes at the sight. The green grew oh so cold at the image the seemingly female divine creature imposed on her. Still, she smiled with a halfhearted attempt to not look so bitter.
"Perfect timing," she said with some tone of merriment, faked as the rest of her was. She ran a paint-smeared hand through her hair, pushing it out of her face, and bared her teeth in a wider approximation of a smile. Try to look pleased, she told herself as she relinquished her hair of her hand and waved the taller woman over.
"You can be my model, if you'd be so kind," she said, gaiety in her voice as convincing as a smile on a murderer's face. Would the woman creature see the distaste and ugly anger behind the expression? The Ethaefal-turned-girl ducked her head behind her easel, twiddling a paintbrush in the air in order to back up her claim. "I paint as a profession, so if you would participate that would make it much, much easier on me to complete this before I go back to the Studio. I like to let the things dry before I have to carry them back. Wet paint always seems so much heavier than dry paint no matter what base is used for it." She even managed a pout. |
