Home of the Konti people, this ivory city is built of native konti stone half in and half out of the sea. Its borders touch the Silverwood, and stretch upwards towards Silver Lake, home of the infamous konti vision water. [Lore]
As a proud and impressive landmark, the Silver Watchtower stands near the main entrance of Mura. Everyone entering or leaving the city must pass it and recognize its function that weaves a loose connection to the rest of Mizahar. In ancient times, far before the Valterrian, it served as a quick way to travel across the continent. Humans must have lived on Konti Isle before, establishing a society extensive enough to require a tower keeping track of time and allowing easy travel.
After the Valterrian struck and wiped many civilizations from Mizahar’s surface, Laviku and Avalis united to create their blessed daughters and provided them with the fertile piece of land and sweet water that was Konti Isle and the Silver Lake. At the same time, the Watchtower remained, mildly damaged and smelling of danger, but still accurately announcing each change of season with the colorful flare of its Watchstone. The Konti developed an interest in the foreign structure, but as no expedition led to new epiphanies, they returned to leaving it where it stands and whispering thanks to the divine lovers for blessing the island with it.
Around the tall cubical building, shaped like a lowercase h and ornamented with the most stunning works of ancient silversmiths, the first Konti settled and started building their capital. Nowadays it connects the Watchtower and Silver Lake, but in previous times, it has been the center of Konti society and subject of many tales and theories. The early craftswomen even regarded the large glass windows and the perfectly calculated harmonic architecture as biggest inspiration for their own contributions to the young society.
Now, as the Konti live tales in reverence to their own kind, the Watchtower is but a mere shadow of the past in their civilization, a distant reminder that they are just as mortal as the ones that occupied the same place before. A few eccentric souls have recently started examining it again and even try to aid and repair the magic-fueled travel system, albeit with no success so far.
Asi’kvi has always been interested in mysteries nobody was able to solve, a passion she inherited from her mother. All the time during her short architecture apprenticeship and long studying time at the library she was interested in unusual buildings and landmarks. She is fierce when it comes to protecting ancient structures from the influx of tourists reaching Mura and has gone to great lengths to make Crystal Cavern inaccessible to outsiders. She believes that through its creators, function and history every location shapes its own soul that can be explored and examined. The Watchtower has become the only mystery she is interested in. She frequently roams it and chases a secret that must be hidden high up in the tower – according to her.
