Fubuki While no one outside had noticed the ghost’s arrival, inside the tent it was quite obvious that something otherworldly had arrived. The tent was filled with women, ranging from their middle ages to their their twilight years, who instantly looked about as the alien sensation settled around the room. Some hands went to their weapons, either at their sides or strewn about the tent, but none had been coated with Soulmist previously so none posed any threat to Fubuki. Right now. When the whisps of her own Soulmist gave her visual shape and made herself known, it was not the person she was addressing but rather one in the corner of the tent who replied. “Your presence in this place is unsettling spirit,” came a strong voice that was deep with wisdom. Sitting forward, an elderly woman garbed in thick grey garments and robes crawled nearer the ghost, white hair framing her face and falling onto her garb. Her wrinkled eyes swiveled up to the ghost, and at once they softened, once they had a good look at who she was talking too. “Ah, so tragic to see one who died so young and still remains in this state. It doesn’t get any easier the more I see it either.” Once the woman now addressing Fubuki had started talking, all the others visibly relaxed, hands returning from their positions of preparation. The elderly woman stood up, her movements quite deliberate and requiring the strength of her bony hands to push off the beach, and started walking towards the exit of the tent. “Follow me, Miss Kouri, and we will talk where your presence is less startling.” OOCJust a note as well, ghosts aren’t actually undead. Undeath refers to a state of being that is unnatural, but ghosts are perfectly normal. Cyrus “You’re Cyrus Blackfire, correct?” the warrior asked, setting down his cutlass. He chuckled at the stranger’s surprised look, sitting down just in front of his tent and stretching a bit.. “Your, well, your servant asked the Lia who took her to keep an eye out for a man looking like you, by the name of Cyrus Blackfire. She’s sung high praises of you, though I have a feeling that’s just what she does.” Blue eyes grinning, he leaned out and pointed towards the far end of the campground, past the mobs of sparring combatants towards a cluster of tents a ways off. “She’s over there training with the Deathspeakers, powerful Spiritists who deal with that kind of thing. You’ll find people to train with you too, that pod’s got some good warriors, they do.” He retracted his hand and set them on his legs, looking back up to Cyrus. “They’ll also teach you to swim if you don’t know how, so no worries on that front. As for leading, well, you’ll need to earn their respect first. Their Lia’s old and no longer battle-ready, so if you do a good job maybe you’ll get the other Deathspeakers to follow you when the time comes.” Chuckling, he wove his fingers behind his head and fell back on the sand. “Good luck mate, you’ll need it. Especially with a girl like that. Being dead doesn’t make her type any easier to deal with.” Akilia The woman stopped and turned at the prompting from the Kelvic, a look of confusion crossing her face before turning into a smile. “What’s a sweet thing like you doing wandering about a place like this?” she asked, eyes wandering down to Ginger. Kneeling, she began stroking the dog’s head, regarding the animal warmly before looking up at Akilia. “This is a war gathering miss, we’re hunting down a very dangerous man and we need to collect as much of our brethren as we can. We’re here because we’re accepting help from land-dwellers too, but you don’t look the fighting sort.” She sighed and pulled herself back up to her full height, looking down at the Kelvic in front of her. “If you insist on helping then I guess one of the warriors can show you how to use that dagger of yours.” Her hand gestured to the little sheath on Akilia’s belt. “We also need people to carry things like food between groups here, and once on the ship we need people to take our injured back to our medics. It’s not easy work though, so you have to be willing to commit. If you decide to go through with it, find one of the Lias. They’ll be willing to teach you.” With that, she nodded and continued wherever it was she was going, leaving Akilia to decide. OOCFor your thread, I think it would be more fitting if you posted first. I'll take control of whoever you approach, whether it be one of the older Lias or the warriors sparring. PM me the thread and I'll jump in. |
