A hardcover tome entitled 'The Poisons of Mizahar' laid open along a wooden desktop within the Sanctuaries Library. His left index finger mindfully traced along the words written on the page as he studied the contents of its knowledge. Despite his best interests to learn how to heal, he gravitated towards learning about poisons and wanting to know how to stop their negative effects. It had become his method within the Ano Cult to learn how to kill before effectively learning how to save lives. In turn, he currently ignored the second tome which laid closed above the current book he was reading entitled simply 'Herbalism'. The day was still early as the sun had only risen one bells ago. Having patrolled the outer parameters of the Sanctuary during the twilight at sunrise, he felt good enough to pursue his own endeavors.
He turned to the second page of the toem and began to read about the necessary equipment a novice crafter would require to begin practicing the art. "Any required tool can be found within a alchemists appraisal kit or identification kit." As he spoke softly to himself, Loken's right hand had taken up a quill to dip the tip of the writing instrument into a vial of black ink. His left index finger keept his focus on important words he needed to write down while his eyes shifted to a blank book that sat to the right of the poison tome. Loken had learned during his studies as a youth in the Ano Cult to ignore pain and steady his hand without spilling ink. The Several burn scars scorched into the skin of his hands giving him permanent reminders of his training to ignore pain and keep control of his emotions and stay logical. He began to write the names of the supplies that would come in a required kit, though he could only get about four words written on the page before having to dip the quill again. The writing itself suddenly turning out to be an arduous process, having to go back every three or so words. Braking his thought process to dip correctly, being cautious to not spill the ink.
"Tools and Ingredients necessary will beakers, test tubes, mixing bowls, knives, tweezers, mortar and pestle. Not inculded in a kit will be a required heating source." He spoke slowly, as he wrote each word he said down. "Though specific Poison families will require specialized instruments." The last sentence he had only spoken, deciding not to write it down as he wanted to look up poison families. After flipping through a few pages he found a section of chapters devoted to describing each family, though noticed that it stated Novices should only pick three families to study. "The Vine family, made up of poisons brewed from vines. Typically the safest poison type to handle In comparison to other families. The Root family offers the greatest selection of poisons, yet poisons in the root family are not as potent as other families." Every time he wrote down the name of a family he underlined them so his eye would focus on them later. "The Serpente family, contains poisons crafted from several species of snakes. Most snake venom will typically effect physical health negatively."

Loken's eyes were scanning the text in front of him with intrigue that even caused a slight smirk to form on his lips, breaking his usual stoic expression. Flipping the pages he began to search for several novice level poisons that related to the three poison families he had decided to focus his studies on. Eventually his page turning stopped when a specific poison had caught his attention. "The Blue Whinnis, member of the root poison family." Spoken softly as he wrote the name down within the blank book that was slowly turning into his own personal journal of knowledge. "It causes a phase of mild weakness followed by unconsciousness for up to three hours." His right hand moved to dip the quill into more ink then positioned the base of his palm on the book, holding the tip of the quill above the page. As soon as he started speaking again, his the quill began to lace inked words along the page. " An odorless, light blue liquid extracted from concentrated whinnis root found in forests. Its delivery method is caused via, injury." Placing the quill down for a moment, he looked down at pouch belt he was wearing and removed a four pronged star Shuriken from it. Loken began to imagine the weapon as an appropriate deliver method for poisons. Suddenly feeling the need to practice with his Shuriken as he laid it down next to the vial of ink.
His eyes glanced down to the next poison listed which was also in the root family of poisons and began to write it down in his book. "Known as, Bloodroot it appears as a red, odorless thick textured liquid made from a veriery of roots typically found deep within forests. Its effects are caused via injury, resulting in mild confusion and physical weakness for up to three bells." Loken couldn't help but glance towards the toem on Herbalism for a moment understanding he would need to read it later. He would use it after he was finished studying, and observe herbs within the gardens. Retuning to his research studies, Loken began to read and write down notes on another root family poison. "Known as Close Call, it is a yellow odorless paste made from the bump root. It causes the loss of motor skills, equilibrium balance, and agility for up to one bell. Effects are caused through injury."
His mind never stopped as he concentrated on the knowledge in front of him, filtering the information through his mind as he tried to memorize what he was reading. The words quickly translated through his consciousness to suddenly become stored within his subconscious mind. It helped him memorize the text faster since the information quickly become freshly scribed text on a page. Patiently writing down the information regarding the creation process of the poisons. "To create a new poison, one must identify all of the necessary source material, the specific creation process required for the various poisons, and names. Once the poison is fully identified the process for creating the first dose of the specific poison will be known and simply must be put into effect with the required equipment." He began to read the processes of creation for the Root family poisons he had already transcribed.

A bell and thirty chimes had past as Loken sat in silent study of the poison tome. His progress over time led him along the conceptual learning curve to become a novice crafter of Root family Poisons; knowledge he meditate ore later. His self-education now moved to the second poison family of his choice, the Vine family. Since his previous system of self-oriented learning had proven to be efficient, he continued to write down what he spoke. Dipping the quill into the ink before he continued to study the known poisons of the family. "Greenblood oil holds a soft pine scent and has a dark green color. It is created from pressed rogue vines located in forests." A blot of ink stained the page after his hand had pressed slightly to hard into the page. It was a minimal stain, that did no true damage to his notes. Loken dipped the quill and continued to write, ignoring the small circular blot. " Effects of the poison are minimal physical weakness for up to two bells. Its delivery method is by way of Injury."
The next poison cause Loken to raise a curious brow as its delivery method was different from the rest, not being injury, but inhalation. "Lost Tongue." He spoke, wrote, and quickly underlined the poison's name on the blank page just as he did the others. " A faint green mist with no oder made from evaporated vine oil made from various vines in forest regions." Loken found the effects of the Lost Tongue poison to be extremely useful in several situations. In his mind already wishing for this to be the first poison he would like to craft. "It causes the tongue to sell and thicken to the point of causing muteness for up to two bells. Lost tongue is stagnant, passive, and or inert at cooler temperatures."

For some reason as Loken began to read about the Serpente class of posion family, he began to think about a Dhani who he used to train with at the Librum of Ahnatep. His eyes paused on the poison families name as his hand repositioned his grip on the quill, soon writing the name of a known Serpente poison down. SInce snake-tongue was his second language, his mental as well as his current spoken language had changed from common to Snake-tongue. He began to make soft hissing sounds while reading the text, however his hand wrote in the common language. "Dark Tongue: A black, watery liquid that smells like coffee made from the concentrated venom of a black adder snake. Effects cause moderate physical weakness for up to four bells. Delivery method caused through injury."
After Loken had finished writing he began to read over his notes to make sure he had written down all the information correctly. Confident that his current studies were finished, Loken pulled out his backpack that rested against a leg of his chair. He carefully and meticulously checked each item that was inside the bag before sealing the vial of ink up and putting it away. Pursing his lips faintly as he looked at the Shuriken he had set down on the table, reaching out with his left hand to grab it. Lifting it up to eye hight he glanced at the scars that were on top of his hand before placing the throwing star back into the pouch on his belt. Once the ink had adequately dried, he closed the journal he had been writing in and set it within his back pack along with the quill. Slowly standing to his feet, Loken rose from his chair as he slipped the straps of the back pack over his shoulders. Thinking about heading to Riverfall to procure himself a identification or appraisal kit.
Before he exited the Library, he placed both books back on the shelves he had taken them from.
