When Good Things Go Bad
Spring 6th, 513 AV; 11th Bell

Ricky knew it was morning but not as late in the morning as it was, nor did he really appreciate the fact the sun was up. He and Hannah had slept together last night and remained close, he didn't want to have to let her go; but the usual call of usual business would come in about several bells. In which he would have to get up and get ready, and hope to see Hannah again during or after his post.

knock knock knock

The sound of the knocks were gentle, but enough to cause Hannah to stir. 'Guess I'm gonna have to get up anyway.' He sighed through his nostrils, as he leaned up to get out of bed; Hannah stretched and sat up.

When Ricky opened the door Telion was waiting for him, a small grin that soon faded when she saw him shirtless. "Oh my Laviku Ricky, get a shirt on! And how long has it been since you had a bath?" She averted her eyes, and Ricky couldn't stop from chuckling.

"Come on in." He invited and left the door open, and picked his short sleeve shirt up off the floor. When he finally pulled it over and down his torso he noticed both women stared at one another, and right then did he find the awkward moment between friends. "Oh Telion, this is Hannah." He introduced with hopes that the moment wouldn't rise to the awkwardness it would live up to, and both women smiled at one another.

"Hi... It's uh, very nice to meet you." Telion nodded as she put forth the effort to not laugh.

"Likewise," Hannah looked to Ricky awkwardly, "I should probably go."

"Oh, no no! I should, I'm the one who intruded." Telion gave Ricky a look he knew well, one that was self explanatory. 'I don't wanna ask cause I already know,' or so that's what Ricky registered. "It was nice meetin you though."

"Now hold on Tel, why not stick around? Get to know one another?" He suggested with a faint hopeful smile, both of them looked at him strangely.

"That's okay, maybe later when you two aren't busy." Telion ran her fingers through her hair in the moment things became awkward; and that's when Ricky noticed.

"Hey, ya got a hair cut!" He pointed out with enthusiasm, but Hannah spoke in turn next.

"What's that?" She stood up and walked over to Telion, who now looked nervously at the ginger. Ricky wasn't sure what she saw, but he would soon figure it out.

"It's nothing! I have to go now." She was serious and defensive, and before Hannah could get a hold of her arm Telion immediately walked out of the door.

"What the petch was that about?!" He raised his voice a bit, annoyed that Hannah chased her off.

"Don't look at me! Ask the man that gave her the bruise!" Hannah snapped with an attitude, but said nothing more as Ricky looked astonished.

"Ye saw a bruise on 'er? Where?!" There was a crease in his brow as his voice grew low, his face slightly changed to the hue of red.

"Right here," She pointed under her left ear, "and there was another on her arm. I'm surprised you didn't notice it."

That was more than enough, apparently Telion had a secret she thought she could keep from Ricky, but thanks to Hannah he just now found that out. Now he was going to help her, and confront the damned fool that inflicted harm upon her. "Petch this horse shyke, we're goin to pay her a visit!" He was already close to furious now, ready to spur into action. He and Hannah wasted no time in getting the rest of their things together. The both of them headed out of the house and further within the old quarter.

NoteTo the reader indulging this thread, the content that follows via this post and possibly the rest will be very heavy with dialogue of strong language. This of course is all part of the drama that unfolds during the conflict, so please note that you are about to read about a very, very pissed off son of a sailor. Thus concludes your warning, and now you may enjoy!

It was about several blocks away, but Ricky remembered where it was Telion was staying at. The place the damned bastard stayed at was luckily not far from the building he lived in. It was just tucked away further within the Old Quarter, not that it stopped him of course. Ricky was infuriated that Telion would allow herself to be abused in such a manner, and the fact she was hiding it didn't help the situation any either. His face was full of the vibrant red color that revealed his anger, it was enough to actually catch the eyes of several people as he passed by. Hannah was silent as she had to keep a slightly quicked walk, for Ricky was wasting no time in walking over there. He was tense with fists clenched tight, ready to go on a rage at any possible second. Finally they arrived at the house, it was a small cottage in shoddy shape. Better than Ricky's old shack no dount, but still a shoddy cottage to live it. He banged on the door three times, and very shortly after raised voices became louder. They were both arguing no doubt, and just when Ricky was ready to barge in the door was ajar with Tel on the other side. "Ya owe me a petchin explanation!" He almost shouted at her, his breath's were quicker, heavier than before he arrived. Though it wasn't because of the trek, no it was actually much worse now. Ricky was right where her abusive man lived, and the temptation to right his wrong was never so strong.

"Ricky this isn't a good ti-"

"I don't give a flyin rat's ass, why didn't ya tell me he hurt ya?!" He barked as he looked inside, disgusted with the man. He was average height with enough beef to be considered muscle, the dark brown hair certainly matched his personality. 'A shit bag he is.'

"Who the petch is it?! You been with another man you petchin whore?!" The man took a aggressive posture, and Ricky would've charged at him had Telion not blocked his path.

"Watch it ye son of a petchin whale of a whore, don't ya ever dare speak of her that way!" He snapped back at him, finally he managed to push Tel to barge in. Anger was all that filled his mind and heart, the only thing that kept him from blacking out like he did in Fall was Hannah and Telion. He didn't come here to have a fight, but sure enough he was pretty damn determined to help Telion out.

"Psh. What's a dumb ass like you gonna do?" He tested Ricky, that was more than enough to justify his action.

"Ricky just leave!" Tel shouted.

"To the Void with leavin! Get yer shyke together woman yer leavin!" He commanded her, and her eyes soon swelled with tears.

"Over my pet-" Ricky interrupted the man with one punch, he socked him hard in the jaw with his right hand; pain then shot through as the old wound from his blackout radiated once more. He heard Telion gasp as the bastard went to the floor with no trouble, and then regret mixed with pleasure soon rooted within his heart. Regret for what he had done, but pleasure in the satisfaction it brought. He looked to the ladies, both of them looked stunned. Hannah was more impressed really, while Telion had a look of pure awe.

"Get yer petchin shyke together so we can get ya home. Hannah would you please help her before I do any further dammage?" Hannah nodded and urged Telion to lead the both of them to the back area where the bedroom was, and while they gathered the things she needed Ricky grabbed the guy by his shirt; and nearly threw him in a chair nearby. "Have a petchin seat ya sorry excuse of a man."

He writhed and groaned in pain, but even managed to somehow speak inbetween the groans he had. "Go to the void you sorry blighter." He spat at Ricky's foot, but the guard ignored it. His focus was getting everything together, and getting out of there quick.

"Ye brought this on yer self ye stupid swine, so the only person ye should hate is ye." He simply stated with clenched fists, the tempation to feel such another painful punch a tempting urge he struggled to resist.

"You can have her, she's a whore and terrible in bed anyway." He remarked coldy. Ricky closed his eyes and dis his best to pretend he didn't her that. That very sentence was over the edge in his book, and it made him want to let go. To lose control and see how things turned out. The temptation was never so strong, so alluring in its call to just once release the wild bear inside. He struggled with it, and sure enough that struggle paid off. Both women had bags of Tel's clothes and personal belongings. Telion gave a very spiteful look at him when he let them pass to head out the door, and reluctantly he followed behind; but not without the final say.

"I'm pretty sure it was ye who was terrible, since ye can't treat a woman right." That was all he said before he walked out, finally glad to put the cottage and his temptations behind him. The walk back to the building his room was in was a quiet one, but it would be when they got back when the shouts between Ricky and Tel would continue.

Ricky opened his guest room door and allowed the ladies to walk in, his breathing had reached a more steady pace but his entire face was still packed red. He had never been this angry in his life, which is why it clearly stuck around longer then any usual anger spells. There was silence among the three, but when Hannah placed Tel's belongings on the bed she was the first person to speak. "I should go now."

"I'm sorry ye got dragged in to this." He wasn't harsh but his tone still carried the rough sound of earlier's violence, he never intended to drag Hannah along to begin with; he was just to upset to say otherwise.

"Oh you're sorry! I was just forced to move all my shyke over here, and you don't have the balls to apologize to me?!" Telion's voiced was raised, her eyes showed she was on the verge of tears.

"Don't ya start this shyke with me! Ye knew this would've happened if ya told me, ye knew it and you tried to keep it a secret!" Ricky snapped.

"Petch you Ricky! She roared loud enough for the whole building to hear, but Ricky didn't worry or care. This was better for her, whether she liked it or not.

"Ye say that now Tel, but believe me when I say this; yer better off here. I ain't lettin some damn pretentious bastard like that have his way with ya. Ye may allow it, but I won't!" He stated as she sat on the bed bawling into tears. Ricky looked over to Hannah. "Can ye..." He hesitated with a sigh. "Watch her for me would ya, I need to get ready for work."

"Yeah sure, Hannah nodded, "I'll have a talk and help her see to reason."

He placed a hand on her shoulder. "Thank ya." He showed great appreciation, and looked over to Tel once more before heading out the door.

He was about to enter his room until he saw three people, a man and two women, standing in the common room. "Is everything okay?" The man asked shyly, Ricky knew they were just concerned even if it wasn't there business; the least he could do was answer them for disturbinf the peace.

"Everythin is fine, there's just a lot of foul mood today." With that three reluctantly went back to their rooms. Ricky entered his and with a big deep breath he sighed, and crutched himself against the door. For a chime he allowed tears to run free in silence, and prayed that some god out there would grant him the strength to make it through the day.

After that was done he finally changed into his uniform, and went on out to the office to prepare for his shift.

When Good Things Go Bad

Ricky had finished his shift and was now ready to go home. He took a short break midshift to pay a visit to Odis' memorial, to share with him the problems he faced today. Though it felt odd to be talking to a grave it still made Ricky feel better, like Odis still listened even though he's gone. Of course there were no answers back, but Ricky was beyond that point now. He had accepted everything and only visited to keep in touch with his memory.

When Ricky arrived back at the building in the Old Quarter he felt pretty sure enough time had passed. Before he went to knock on the door the woman would be in though he leaned in close, he hadn't the intention to eavesdrop; he just wanted to make sure the mood was far better than this morning.

"You don't really thank Laviku for everything now do you?" Hannah's voice. By the sound of her tone the mood had certainly improved.

"Laviku's dominion is all of the water, so yes I do thank him. If I didn't then my stall would've probably gone empty sooner." Telion sounded better too, a definite sign that today's wild ride had settled.

"Really now? In that case I should probably thank him for the storm that wrecked the ship."

"You sure you didn't piss off Zulrav?"

"Not unless he has a brother I slept with."

Ricky tried his best not to burst out laughing, quickly he moved away from the door to muffle it to the best of his ability. He was completely convinced that the two got along well today, and with that noted in his head he went on in his room. It was the same repetition that followed last night. Undo the garments of his uniform, remove the gloves, then jacket, then boots, and at last the trousers. He then put on his cotton made trousers, then folded the uniform garments and placed them in his chest. Finally he put on his short sleeve and went to the door, but not before his curiosity was piqued once again.

"Is he gonna check on us or what?"

"He's probably changing into his usual attire, that uniform is like, the most sacred thing to him."

"Ooh, I know that look!"

"What look?" Ricky's brow creased. 'What look?'

"That look!"

"I was simply thinkin."

"Thinkin about him with no pants?" If Ricky's jaw could've hit the floor, it certainly would've done so right then and there.

"What?! Do you always think about sex?"

"Well not all the time."

"Oh really?! Well what else do you think about?"

"Sailing actually, which in a sense is like sex really."

He had heard enough, immediately before he could be further embarrassed he went his door and knocked on Tel's, he didn't wait for the invitation to come in however.

"Hey ye two, got everythin put away?" He held a big subtle smile, as he would pretend he never listened in on such a conversation.

"Oh! Hi Rick. Everythin is put away."

Hannah was sitting on the bed, Telion was at her dresser. There were still a few bags scattered about but the room looked as though Telion had been living in it already. "I uh, have to apologize about earlier."

"No need," Ricky shook his head, "I acted rash today and the both of ya saw a side o' me I didn't intend to show ya. For that I'm sorry."

"Well," Hannah stood up and strutted over to him with a grin, "I thought it was romantic, and you two have a lot of talking to do. Good day!" She cheered with a twist to wave bye to Tel, then continued her strut out of the room. Ricky couldn't help the laugh that came up, probably the same one from earlier.

He turned to Telion, and for a couple of chimes it was quiet between them. Finally when the silence broke it was Telion who spoke first. She thanked him for doing what he did, and admitted she hid it for a while now. Only because she was scared something like today would've happened. It was a conversation that led to finally an understanding between the two, and became finalized with an agreement that Telion wouldn't hide any more problems she had. Thay didn't mean she still kept a secret from Ricky though. Nor did he bother to bring it up, instead it went unnoticed and vanished into the memory of today; and would be known as another yesterday.
