[Regional Quest] Stranded

Postby Kanri on March 15th, 2013, 8:08 pm

Kanri shot awake, sweating and breathing hard. She must have had a nightmare. But she couldn't remember a thing besides the Fear it had brought to her. She was so shaken and she had no idea what was wrong. It was an odd sensation. She wiped her forehead and rolled out of bed, trembling slightly. It was earlier than she normally liked but she had to get moving and forget that Haunting Fear.

In her unfocused state of mind, she found donned her Talonsword and took her waterskin with her. She pushed out of room, unsure of where she was headed. The sky. She wanted to see the sky. She dashed through the corridors, startling any other early risers. By forcing herself to move quickly, she felt better. It shook off the Fear of her nightmare. She didn't often have dreams or nightmares but every now and then, she would get a really vivid one. But for some reason, despite the Fear, she couldn't remember her dream at all.

She burst into the Courtyard of the Sky with relief as the morning air started to bite in. The sky was only just lightening and she could still pick out the brightest of the stars. She took a deep breath and just stared at the sky. It had such a complexity of color, when she took a careful look, not just a smooth blue. If she didn't get a crook in her neck, she thought she might stay there forever.

Then, there was a brilliant flash of red. The sky light up like a crimson fire as an ember-like star exploded into view and crashed into Thunder Bay. Kanri just stood there, fixated by the magnificent display of light. As other people came to look, they all seemed so worried. Kanri became Confused. Everyone seemed so worried. At first, she wasn't quite sure why, but then she remembered the Djed storm of the previous year, and the massive damage it caused to the city. No wonder they were so afraid. Kanri shivered with the memory.

As more and more people gathered, Kanri was shoved to the front. Then, the Valintar himself approached the group, calling for Volunteers. Kanri waited and watched as others stepped forward, one by one. They all looked so well prepared! How had they thought to bring all thoyse things? Kanri nervously shifted on her feet. However, then Ardal was in the crowd too. And she noticed Iosha and some others she had briefly met earlier that season. She wouldn't be among strangers, even though there were clearly some foreigners there. Maybe she was not well prepared but she was an intelligent, young person. She was sure she could figure something out.

"I will join as well," Kanri piped up.

With a half-skipping, bubbly step, she eagerly greeted Ardal, Iosha, and some of the others, which whom she was much less familiar. She was excited now because now, she would get to go on a little adventure.

[Regional Quest] Stranded

Postby Maria on March 16th, 2013, 7:40 am

Maria wakes up earlier than normal as she has been for the past week. There is no special reason for her early rising other than that she simply cannot find herself able of sleeping past the hour before the sun rises. This has resulted in the red headed girl having more hours to herself in the day when normally very few would be bestowed upon her. This particular morning Maria has busied herself with getting ready for the days tasks ahead of her. This doesn't take long and Maria soon finds herself with nothing to do. So she does what any bored person does this early in the morning, she goes outside to watch the sunrise.

Before leaving the small place she calls home, Maria grabs her short bow and her quiver full of arrows. She is not sure whether or not she will actually need them today, but she has this feeling. A feeling that makes her believe it is possible that having them will come in handy. If the feeling is wrong than she will be totting around her weapons for no obvious reason, but Maria doesn't think about that little detail. Instead she just focuses on the feeling for possibly needing them. After she has gathered her things, the young Inarta exits her home enters the outdoors where she expects to see a bright sun rise into the sky and announce a new day.

Maria doesn't have to wait long till she sees the sun rise above the earth for it is much later than she originally thought. She stands there, frozen in the moment as she gazes at the brilliantly colored sky. It is something of a beauty. It strikes her that she has witnessed the beginning of a new day. A day that could bring a countless number of things. She is having this thought when a sudden bright red light streaks across the sky. At first she doesn't know how to react and then quickly the worry sets in. Clearly this is going to be an interesting day.

Maria heads straight for the Courtyard of the Sky for she knows that is where people will gather for their information. It doesn't take to terribly long for her to get there and when she does she sees that she is right. The courtyard is filled with Inartas of many castes. Everyone seems to be very curious and some of them Maria can tell are worried. Her attention is not on the people however. No, it is on the person in the center of the people. The Valintar.

He is the person that Maria knows is in charge, so she takes great care to listen to what he has to say. He speaks with a loud voice and one that shows he is the leader. He asks for volunteers and immediately, Maria knows that she wants to step forward. She waits however before stepping forward and she sees who else is volunteering. She has no real reason for waiting, just curiosity. However, soon there a small pause and she takes this as a chance to jump in. She steps forward and says with much clarity in her voice, "I volunteer as well."

Elna woke up to the ruckus going on outside. Her birds Seaghdh and Iris cried out to the door, bothered by all the noise. Elna stumbled out of rubbing her eye moving straight to her clothes. She quickly got dressed so she could investigate what had gotten everyone in a stir. She poked her bed rattled head out of her door, watching people pass by in a hurried panic. Turning to a near by Dek, she started pressing him about the events. "You Dek, whats going on here? Where is everyone going"

"To the Valitar I believe ma'am. There was red streak across the sky this morning that flew towards thunder bay"

That was all Elna need to hear. After all the damage done done by the Djed Storm, this could easily be more trouble. She quickly threw her pack and quiver over her shoulder, slipped on her falconers glove and beckoned for Seaghdh as she grabbed her bow and ran out the door. Its was fortune it that she knew there was going to be trouble while she was still home, she had gotten in to a few fights unarmed the past few seasons so at least this time she will be prepared. "I know we haven't had to much time training together, but I'm going to need your help today. You won't give me to much trouble will you boy?" She spoke to her falcon as she donned his hood.

She made her way to the crowd forming out side of the Valintar's office she stood up on her toes trying to get a view over peoples heads or between their shoulders as the Valintar was just starting his speech, asking for volunteers. Elna could hear as one by one people starting volunteering. She knew she had to offer up her help as well, she still felt like she owed something to the Valintar for putting her on the path to the Avora caste and this was the perfect opportunity to show that his faith had not been misplaced.

She raised her left fist, clutching her bow, into the air. "Oh, oh! Me too! I'm volunteering!" She yelled out eagerly from the back of the crowd. The people in front of her turn their head back to see her before separating to let her though. She awkwardly moved the crowd with her various equipment until she got to the front. "I'm volunteering, I'm ready"

[Regional Quest] Stranded

Postby Aradia on March 25th, 2013, 7:16 pm

Aradia had woken up before daylight that morning in her Endal Brother’s residence, in the hopes to get an early start on the day. There was so much to do, and so little time. She needed to write more songs, practice singing, practice Archery, meet up with a few friends, practice her Reimancy. The list just went on, and she needed to wake up before Syna to accomplish it all in one day. She always tended to over-do her mental list of “things to do” that she made for herself daily, but hopefully since she had risen up early, she would be able to at least get most of the things she planned to get done completed.

The Singer stretched her bed tired muscles, getting them ready for the day events, when a vibrant light soared through the sky along with the rising of Syna. The light looked to be a streak of fire, soaring across the sky, illuminating the already lit sky as it plummeted towards Thunder Bay. It was a beautiful sight, but none the less it frightened the innocent singer. With the shudder of her home, as well as the rest of Wind Reach the display brought, it jumped Aradia into action. She grabbed her backpack and her bow and quiver, wasting no time to alert her half-brother, his Wind Eagle would tell him she was sure. Aradia rushed out of their home, with a need for knowledge of what was going on, and how exactly she could help. She was only a common Chiet, but hopefully her caste would be over looked in this time of need.

As she rushed her tired feet into gear, she ran towards the Sky Court Yard. Her mind was filled with worries of the people that lived where it landed, the flora, the animals, the people, the resources. Anxiety and fear flowed through her, as her need to know pushed her forward. Aradia slowed her steady feet down to a more calm, yet slightly rushed, pace as the voices of others reached her ears. The Singer wanted nothing more than to rush on to Thunder Bay, but the foolishness of that outweighed her desperate need to help others. Instead she went where the hurried and excited voices were, hoping to find out more information about the fire star that streaked across the sky this morn.

When Aradia entered the court yard there was already a large group of Inartas who had gathered there, talking amongst one another about Thunder Bay and the comet of fire. They all held determined looks upon their faces, their eyes read fear and anxiety, but also confidence and strength. In the center of the of the court yard stood a prominent figure in Wind Reach, one she had meet earlier in the Spring. The Valintar.

Kaden Avin’s prescence seemed to hush down most of the erratic whispers that surrounded the court yard, as all began to look upon him for what to do next. The man had a heavy weight on his shoulders, as he looked out at all the Inarata as his words made a slight chill rush down Aradia’s back, making her grasp her bow in her hand, clenching till her knuckles became white with determination.

”We cannot let such an event go unnoiticed and without response. I’m calling for volunteers to travel to Thunder Bay and deal with whatever threat may lay there. Step forward if you wish to assist. Swiftness is essential.”

The few whispers that were still heard, hushed instantly at his words. Silence loomed over the court yard, as people began to step forward. Aradia waited, debating, worried that a Chiet would be rejected. She stood there with her bow clenched in one hand, and inhaled a deep breath. It was time to put aside caste, and worry about the people of Thunder Bay. This was a severe situation, one to be taken serious not lightly, she would not let her worries of her caste get in her way, she would stand beside who ever and help in any way that she could.

With that, Aradia stepped forward into the already growing crowd of volunteers, ”I volunteer my services as well. I will help in anyway that I can.” Aradia said with steady determination, a strong yet warm voice. Bowing before the Valintar in respect, as she stood in with the others, her caste all but forgotten, and the determination to help burning through her.

Aela awoke very early that morning from the sound of Skye squawking. This was reminiscent of when she was first given her pet, and he'd wake her up each morning to feed him. This was changed in her time living out in the forest where the bird was free to move about as he pleased and hunted his own food. However, now that they were back in the city, it was once again up to Aela to feed him sense they were room mates and he couldn't leave on his on anymore. Sitting up in the bed, she reached for her bag and removed a few dried bits of meat and fed them to him while he sat on his perch.

The teen smiled at her rapture, feeling a bit tickled each time his tongue or beak would touch her finger tips. They had been through a lot together and she cared for him deeply. Once she had returned to the city, Aela had went out and bought new supplies for him as well as a new cage. She thought he deserved the best after all, though she felt that she was behind on his training. The new items that she bought were help with that, but she didn't plan on using the cage unless she had too. Skye was a good companion, she thought, and he deserved his freedom. After all, freedom was important, and she herself had felt like a bird in a cage for some time. Or..perhaps it had been the first time in her life that the little Inartan had actually been free.

She stood up from the bed then, and moved towards the window in her new room. The view was different from that of her old room and she could see a different side to the peaks of Mt. Skyinarta. It was a beautiful sight and one that she had long missed while she was away. The sudden crimson flash that streaked across the sky caught her attention. Glistening, warm chestnuts stared in awe of the brilliance as it slipped over the mountain and disappeared.

"What was that..?"

She had to know more, her thirst for adventure and discovery burning brightly within her. Aela was never the quiet sort to spend all of her time in the tedious day to day events of the city. She wanted more, she need more than the simple and boring life of a Glassblower. She had enjoyed learning the trade and working with Perith, but she knew that there was more to life. Aela looked around at her city, and as much as she loved it, she was not inspired. The girl needed more, and she would continue to search until she found it.

Perhaps this was it..

She turned away from the window and quickly dressed herself in a while Vinati, and dark blue Bryda. After putting on her tall, black boots, the girl jumped up to collect her gear. Aela had no way of knowing what she would face and it was better to be prepared. She slipped on her archery glove, and slung her bow and quiver over her shoulder. The last things she added was her talon sword and her backpack with a few rations and personal items in case she got stuck and couldn't return house in a day.

Once she was dressed and ready, the little huntress chirped a few words to Skye and commanded him to stay before she left her room. The city was rarely quiet even in the early hours where many had to get up and work, so the sounds from outside didn't seem odd. However once she stepped out of her room, she noticed a wave of people heading in one direction. The little Inartan stood by the steps watching it all, fingers moving up to comb through her blonde curly locks as she realized that she hadn't done so yet. Aela had planned to go out on her own to explore whatever it was but seeing that something was going on in the city, she figured that she'd see what it was about.

She quickly made her way to the courtyard, slipping passed people and lightly touching shoulders to alert the slower moving people that she was coming through. The crowd was there, and Aela wasn't surprised at the show out of people. Her people were nosy and as fiery in temper as they were in passion. Anyone who was a wake was likely present and by the way that some of them walked, it seemed that they hadn't even been to sleep. Aela stood at the back of the crowd where she found herself stuck for the moment. The Valintar of Wind Reach, Kaden Avin stood at the head of it all, addressing the people.

While she listened, Alea glanced around the crowd to see if she spotted any of her old friends, but when she couldn't she simply turned back to watching the old Inartan talking. She was surprised that he was asking for volunteers rather than telling everyone to stay put and let the Endal handle it. But she was glad that he did, the cocky teen couldn't promise that she wouldn't venture off to investigate, nor would she want too. The girl had realized some time ago that something was happening, the storm, strange appearances of Gods and now this? Their world was changing..fast, and Aela wasn't about to be left behind..she was a survivor.

"I am so going.."

She moved then, slipping through the mass of people, again her hand lightly tapped shoulders as she excused herself to push through them. It was likely that a few people were poked in the eye from the large bow on her back, or smacked by the backpack that bounced around to the side of it, but Aela was just too short to be seen from afar. Once she stumbled her way to the very front. the young teen combed her fingers through her hair again, hoping to make it appear that she hadn't just woken up before she spoke.

"I can help."

Kaden did not have to wait long: the people of Wind Reach were strong, fiery, brave. They did not shy away from danger or the unknown. Within moments of his call, Inarta from all edges of the Courtyard began to step forward, offering their bodies, their strength, and their skills. Not just Inarta, but Konti, Vantha, Humans. So many springing to the aid of Wind Reach without a second thought. When each one stepped forward, Kaden inclined his head deeply, thanking them for their service, his eyes boring into theirs before turning his attention to the crowd as a whole: waiting for a long moment, before turning away. The crowd that remained on the steps of the Courtyard had thinned considerably; Kaden, for all his faith in the people of the mountain and the sky, had not expected such a pool of volunteers.

Turning from the center of the Courtyard, Kaden strode in long, confident to a corner, less crowded by curious onlookers: though he knew the gossip would spread, and the plans of this group would be through Mt. Skyinarta in no time. Once the group had assembled around the Valintar, he nodded, and began to speak.

"Fourteen volunteers... this is more than what I had hoped for. Wind Reach is extremely in your debt, my friends. Thank you." Kaden took a moment to pause, to smile, before the gentle, easy-going look on his face was wiped clean, and a more sombre set took in. "But to business. Even if you did not see the comet, the flash of light, whatever it might be, early this morning, you've heard from me a little of what had happened. So soon after Spring... well."

Kaden took a breath, striding as he thought aloud, slowly. "We'll need to go down to Thunder Bay. We have no idea what's awaiting us there, but we do know that the flash landed in the water." He inclined his head at the Konti in the group, smiling. "You'll come in handy there. As will your healing skills, no doubt." He looked around, a sweeping search over those who gathered before him: all shapes and sizes, all ages, some with bows, some with weapons, some with just their hands.

"You see... we don't know what we'll find. We don't know what we'll need. But the more diverse our group is, as it seems to be, the more we'll be prepared for any eventuality. Some of you are obviously quite skilled with combat, others, you may be more skilled with logic. People of all the castes stand before me: an Endal," he nodded towards Sira, "Avora, Chiet." There was no mention of the Dek. "We'll likely need all of us by the end."

Taking a breath, looking around to see if the people followed, he continued. "Some of you have equipment with you, some of you do not. No matter. We will be leaving from the Sanikas Pass in a bell, travelling down the mountain to the bay. We'll have to push on swiftly: the morning has only just begun, but we need to get to whatever-it-is as soon as possible. Grab only what you need."

"Before we leave... do you have any last questions?"

Kaden stood stock still. He'd wait for any questions, answering them. When the questions were finished, Kaden would stride away, his cloak flowing out behind him as the morning chill disappeared. He would see them all at the Sanikas Pass in one bell precisely.

[Regional Quest] Stranded

Postby Aradia on March 30th, 2013, 5:00 am

Aradia looked around, as another person after her joined the crowd of people. There were a few familiar faces that she recognized and she was pleased with that fact. She nodded her head in greeting to all those she knew, but she kept silent as Kaden started to speak once again. Her nerves began to race, thoughts of ‘what ifs’ started to chase each other in her mind, her imagination running wild as to what they would expect to find at Thunder Bay.

She was a little frightened, to say otherwise would be a lie to herself, but even though she was frightened as to what to expect there, she was still happy, proud even, that she was going to be a part of a group that was going out to extend a helping hand to the people of Thunder Bay. She prayed that there still were people there, though the fire star looked small high in the sky, so did the Wind Eagles, but that did not mean they were small.

Aradia banished her panicked thoughts as she listened intently as to what the Valintar had to say to the group of volunteers. He said the flash had landed in the water, so that could be helpful, but Aradia wondered if that caused a big wave to crash over the city or not. The urge to bite at her nails peeked at that thought, and she clenched her hands till red crescents formed on her palms.

The Valintar was giving the group a bell to grab what they needed. Aradia grabbed all she needed before she left, ready to rush out and fight the best she could. She was not extremely skilled with a bow, but she would do the best she could, if it was needed. The Valintar asked if there was any questions the group needed answered before leaving.

Aradia stayed silent; there were no questions that he could answer. The questions that ran in her mind could only be answered when they arrived at Thunder Bay. Plus, she wasn’t the type to just speak up and ask a question in front of so many people, she was too meek for such things, if she had one. So, instead she moved towards the familiar faces, seeking the comfort of the people that she knew, even if she didn’t know them that well it was still nice to not be surrounded by strangers. The fear she was feeling earlier had disappeared, and instead it was replaced with a little panic, and a lot of excitement.

Aradia stood still and quiet listening to any questions people had to ask Kaden. Once everyone became silent again, the Valintar left, his cloak flowing out behind his quickened retreat. Syna came up full in the sky, chasing away the chill, though a chill seemed to still remain at the thoughts of Thunder Bay, but the warming light of Syna was a welcome to Aradia.

[Regional Quest] Stranded

Postby Iosha on March 31st, 2013, 2:00 am

Iosha's eyes brighten when the Valintar said something about her healing skills coming in handy, and she immediately thought to herself that she needed to get medical supplies from the infirmary before she set off to Thunder Bay. Suddenly, Iosha heard a man voice speak to her in kontinese, and she turned around to see the dark haired Darren looking at her waiting for a answer to his pick up line. Iosha looked at the Vantha and raised an eyebrow. The pickup line was blunt, straight to the point, and highly inappropriate for the current situation, but she looked at him closer remembered the naked dance in the rain and the face Vantha in Thunder Bay earlier in spring that asked her if she had a mate yet. The thought of mate made her blush slightly. She haven't thought about giving her daughter Neia a sister yet. Iosha shook the absurd thought from her mind and said bluntly to him in kontinese with a playful grin on her face, “Darren, you really...really...really have some god awful pick up lines. It nice you are helping the Inarta. I am kind of surprised for some reason... I am not sure why, but you don't seem to be the type to willing you go out of your way to help people.” She put a hand through her hair nervously and said softly in common, “Sorry if I was too mean there, I think the falling star making me slightly on edge. I'll be right back. I need to ask the Valintar a question before I head to the Infirmary to get supplies.”

Iosha walked through the crowd of Inarta, and when she made it to Arandolya, she put a comforting hand on her half-sisters shoulder. She gave her a warm smile and squeeze as she walked past the Inarta woman. She made it to Aradia, saw her friend was on edge, put a hand on the woman's arm, and said softly, “You won't have to face it alone, Aradia. You will have me and all your friends with you. Besides it could be fun to see what creepy creature comes out of the sea!” Iosha stuck out her tongue at her, and she continued walking till she stood at Sira side. Iosha looked up at the leader of the city, and she walked up to front crowd, and she ask her question of him, “Since our object crashed in the ocean, do we know if the village of Thunder Bay was hit by a tidal wave yet? I am asking the question because if the village did get hit by the wall of water, I will need help dealing with the injured or dying, so if anyone has any type of medicine or healing skill, I will need them to assist me when we get to the village.” Iosha knew she was trained in medicine, and she was a healer of Rak'Keli, so she needed to take a leadership role in dealing with the injured. Iosha never shied away from taking control of a situation, and she heard stories about Konti serving as aids to other races leaders giving them advice on different matters. Also, she wanted to help her father's people anyway she could, so she didn't mind to help lead the group through the ordeal. After she asked her question, she waited for the Valintar to answer before she set off for the Infirmary.

When Iosha got the medical storeroom, she wasn't question by the other healer because they were already preparing for the worst. Iosha grabbed a large sack and started to load with everything from bandages to pain killers. She knew she won't save everyone, but at least, she would give them a fighting chance. When she was ready, she put it over her shoulder along with her personal equipment. Iosha knew carrying the down the mountain would tired the small konti too much, so she made her way to the stables and saddled her horse. First, the konti laid down the saddle pad over the back of the horse making sure to carefully aligning the pad, so it was straight on the horse. The blond woman knelt down and picked up the heavy saddle with her legs and carefully setting the saddle down on the back of the horse. She aligned the saddle up on the horse making sure it was straight before let the cinches fall loosely down. She walked behind the horse running her hand on his back, so understood she was behind him. Iosha reached down under the belly of the horse, and she pulls the cinch through the bottom securing ring. She pulled up the strap until the ring is over just over the top of the leg. She brings it up to the securing ring at the top and repeats the process until the cinch is completely used up. She repeated the process on the back cinch until it was completely secure. When the saddle is secure, she started to put her excess supplies into her saddle bags and secure the sack with the medical supplies on the horse. When she is finished loading the horse, she stroked the firemane's man with her webbed hand and said to it in Kontinese, “Are you ready for a adventure, Moonfire.” The konti checked the straps again before she get onto her horse, and she rode her horse to Sanikas Pass. When Iosha made it to the pass, she got off of Moonfire, took off her leather helmet letting her blond hair fall from the confines of the leather helmet, and she waited holding the reins of her horse waiting for the Valintar to arrive to address the group before setting out on their quest.

Oh apparently I won't be alone representing Avanthal after all. A genuine smile formed on Darren's face recognizing the timbre and tone from those of his homeland. As long as they all are not Snowsongs this might prove to be a rewarding journey. Putting his arms up and resting his hands behind him Darren took turns taking stock of all those that joined with the elder. The Endal looked to be of the reliable stock at least. The other two words he spoke in Nari were commonly used enough for the Vantha to understand. The rest of the words were lost on the Whitevine's ears. I suppose it would be best to ask Kaden for some assistance. Raising his hand to get the man's attention Darren put on a serious face before relaying his question. "Can you say all that in Vani?" After Darren heard his fill he patted the backpack he had reassuringly before pointing in the general path down the mountain. "I'll await further instruction over there then."

There was a time for everything and proof of that came from Iosha as she provided the Vantha some small talk. "You know my name?" Grinning wickedly Darren gave Iosha self-assured look at the sudden development. True he could not understand most of what was shared he got the gist of it. They weren't really meant as pick up lines in the situation. Merely that's how he just talked when he did not speak Vantha. The Vantha only offered a piercing gaze with in return as he watched and otherwise appreciated the pretty Konti take her leave.

Of course there would be those that he might have bumped into in the mountain but on the whole he decided to wait until they were all ready and in waiting before otherwise approaching them. The Vantha he would be happy to speak to of course. Trading names with them, offering a light joke between Vantha and making sure they were prepared. To the Inarta though he would interact differently if at all.

If a picture said a thousand words what can be said about even constant facial expressions? A rise of challenge in his eyes to the ones that seemed capable. Darren wanted to see how they would react so he can plan accordingly. A trace of concern washed over him as he took stock of some of the volunteers as he shook his head and waited at the entrance. Perhaps he culd be found sitting with someone to talk to, ocassionally moving to try to understand another. Though as the final chimes drew near Darren merely kept to himself testing out the feel of throwing daggers while wearing his gauntlets. Setting himself into a rhythm Darren waited until the elder Inarta revealed himself once more. Thud* Thud* Thud*

Aela didn't ask any questions, but she had dozens roaming through her mind. It seemed that the elder of the city had decided to send a group to investigate the crash. But these weren't trained soldiers, Endal riding atop their giant mounts, these were every day citizens and workers people just like her. In the past, Aela hadn't done so well when it came to working with a group and was more the type to jump without thinking. However that had changed in the last few seasons and the little huntress learned to think and use patience more.

After she volunteered, Aela fell silent and waited while others joined in and asked what questions they had. Others around her started to whisper amongst themselves about what was going on. She missed some of what was said, either through other sounds or whispers spoken quieter than others. However, there was something she picked up, something that she heard clearly enough that it couldn't be mistaken for anything else. People were wondering why the elder was sending a group comprised of anyone that wanted to go out to search for this, rather than the Endal.

Aela had wondered the same thing, but there was more. The people also thought that what ever was out there could possibly be very dangerous and this was the reasoning behind sending a group of commoners. This way the protectors of the city could be spared death if anything went wrong, and it wasn't as if the working class wasn't a pinion a dozen. This worried the teen a bit, and she knew first hand at how ruthless the upper class could be towards those in the lower set. In truth, she wouldn't put it past them, but either way she was still going....alone or with a group.

She was glad that she had thought to bring her gear as it seemed from the old man's words that they would be gone for a while. Still, glancing down at the thin half-top that she wore, the girl wondered if she should have brought her armor. A tick later she decided not to worry about it, if only to keep her from having to travel back through the mountain of bodes just to get back to her room, then do it all over again. "I'm not going back, this will have to do." Once decided the Inartan teen turned and headed off towards the Sanikas Pass.
