A Night To Remember
Spring 8th, 513 AV; 22nd Bell
Ricky and Hannah both waited for Telion to show now, earlier today the introduction Hannah gave made the two of them wonder about Valo soon afterwards. Overall the day seemed to turn out well considering no damage had been done. Well for the better anyway. Now the two sat together, Ricky's arm wrapped over Hannah's shoulder as he held her close.
The Kelp Bar was busy tonight as sailor's had docked their ship earlier today. Tonight business was booming with laughter and roar compared to the usual amount of rabble that walked in, finally Telion had managed to walk in with a creak of the door. Hannah had instructed her to wear something a bit loose so they could all have fun tonight, thus she sent Ricky home to change into his simple attire of the usual cotton shirt and pants. Loose enough to feel lax and comfy, yet snug enough to keep the cool air from chilling the skin. Telion wore a cotton shirt and skirt with shades of turqoise, both matched to complement her blonde hair and blue eyes. Hannah wore her usual outfit, a white tunic embroidered with intricate designs.
Telion took a seat across from the two, a simple smile filled her lips as she looked to the two. "Sorry! I couldn't find a good outfit really." She confessed as she made herself comfortable.
"That outfit is the best one for tonight." Hannah said with a wink, Ricky couldn't help but smile as he watched her lips move. She looked to Ricky with a jaunty grin, "Drinks are on me!" She cheered with a scoot. Ricky chuckled and watched as she went up to the bar, then looked to Telion with a pleasant smile.
"Ye sure ya up for this?" He inquired with enthusiasm.
"I can outdrink you any time Ricky, night or day." She protested with a laugh, Ricky accepted the challenge with a chuckle. Drinking Kelp Beer was fun and difficult if you were a light weight, but after steady practice due to heavy drinking last season he had worked his way to a medium. Still the effects of the alcohol in the beer were strong, strong enough to knock even the heaviest drinker on their ass. Tonight though they would be playing a drinking game, one Hannah had thought of that would probably get the three wasted.
"Okay, ye're on." He cheered in merriment.
Hannah arrived with a handful of six mugs, the wonderous stench of the liquid permeated the air around them as Ricky looked into his mugs. The beer fizzed with its green color, just waiting for its victim to take the first drink. Though the taste had to have been a much aquired one it still took some work to take a drink down.
Hannah's game was simple, the three were to play with cards. She was to shuffle the deck then draw four cards for each individual, the card numbers were to be added up, and then the highest number would have to drink. It was a weird cheesy game really, one that sounded simple to Ricky anyway. Simple enough since the number would be based on luck anyway.
Hannah drew the first set, placed each set in the middle of the table. Her's was first to be flipped; a seven, a three, a four, and a two were revealed. Next was Telion; a eight, another eight, a three, and a five. Finally Ricky's turn was up; a six, a eight, and two fours. Shock and awe hit them as their table filled with laughter, which mixed in with the bustle of the crowd in the bar. Telion was the first to break the ice in their game, the unlucky victim who had to drink her mug first. "Bottom's up buttercup." Hannah teased with a laugh, all three actually laughed.
Tel put on a stern face as she took one decent drink from her first mug before ahe finally got a sour look. She shook her head in disgust, but her expression proved that she was triumphant.
It was on to the next set, the cards where laid out and this time it was Ricky who had to drink. With a wink and smile to teasingly taunt Tel he took a huge gulp of the beer, the taste of the sea smothered his taste buds as he swallowed. An odd after taste followed when he placed his mug back down, one that usually was accustomed with it. It was weird at first, but Ricky didn't find it half bad. It wasn't that big of a deal to him anyway, after all they were having fun with this game.
About several sets had been done, each time the cards were shuffled to change the odds of the next drinker. Hannah's luck seemed to roll tonight, her mug was just below half empty. Telion had a third of her first mug left, while Ricky was already onto his second. The game continued just a bit more, until the three began to just socialize. There was no winner really, but Ricky proved he could drink more than Telion tonight. She hadn't touched the second mug without admitting she was done. The three talked plenty about random topics, the smallest things each did in public, the sea and its endless horizon, the way Ricky threw his punch at Tel's ex. All these subjects were random and pointless, aimless rambles that made the night just feel like it passed on.
That's when Ricky began to notice it. In his drunken state he saw that the room somehow lit up it seemed. Every color every sound was brighter than before. His numb mind could feel sharp sensations all up and down his body, as though every beat his heart made pumped a new foreign energy. The loud rabble of the sailor's revelry in drunken merriment seemed to drown out at the sound of the ocean outside. As Ricky shook his head to try and clean out whatever this was, the laughter that filled their table was drowned out. He felt serene and tranquil inside as he looked to Telion, she had this faint glow about her. Her smile and laughter made her seem so calm, so into the moment as the euphuria seemed to hum from within.
Ricky felt lost in bliss, it was a different bliss from earlier. A different bliss that not even Kelp Beer could bring. Kelp Beer just made people feel more like the shyke they were in, but whatever this was it wasn't the beer; that much he knew. He looked to Hannah with a smile, her skin sparkled like radiant diamonds all over. The fiery red hair took a much richer red then before, almost as though it were painted on actually; but somehow it held the realistic feature. He couldn't explain it. Everything he saw now didn't make any sense, nothing seemed to make sense anymore and yet at the same time... it all did.
His body felt prickly as there was a slight sweat, the three still talked to each other, still laughed with each other in this merry night. Yet he hadn't a clue what was going on. Finally he relaxed his eyes, just for a chime he needed to relax them. So he could snap out of whatever this was. When he opened them though he wasn't seated anymore, he stood on the docks with the moon full. The sky was decorated with stars that danced around, they shifted with one another as they fell into the sea in front of him. The whole event was beyond him, it was something he wouldn't easily admit before; magical.
"You okay? You..." Telion stood with him the whole time, but where was Hannah? Oh of course... From the depths of his subconciousness, he remembered they came out for some air. Hannah decided she would head back to call it a night, and the two stood here talking. If only he could've remembered the conversation, but for some reason that didn't matter. As he looked to Telion he saw stars all around her, the glow that came from her earlier had attracted them it seemed. He couldn't help but smile at her, and as she returned a smile he felt words leave his mouth. He didn't know what he said, but something in him changed. He felt a feeling he couldn't shrug or fight off. It just bubbled inside his very core and brimmed over to fill the rest of his body. He didn't want to fight it now, he wanted to dive in and see where it took him. Telion looked at him in a serious way, something told Ricky that what he said had caught her off guard.
This bubbly feeling mixed with the prickly tingles, and from there everything went off on its own. Telion looked so beautiful in his eyes, the way the stars danced around her like she was their source of life. A spark ignited in his chest, and when this happened he leaned in. He leaned in without hesitation until his lips met hers, and he kept her close with his eyes screwed tight. His hands held her face gently as the euphoria from earlier filled his senses. The way her hands rubbed through his messy hair as they sent warm chills through his skull, his heart began to quicken once more with deep heavy breath's to follow. He could smell her skin and her hair, sweet as the salty air that hung around them. He was lost. Lost in a moment of pure bliss. This made no sense to him, yet that didn't matter to him at all. Though Ricky and Telion where friends, this moment felt like the perfect moment he'd been waiting for.
