20th Day Spring 513AV Settling into a new life in Syliras has been easier than expected for Shiress after 3 days shy of a full season spent in The City. However, dealing with the memory of the life that sent her fleeing to the city, and the journey itself hasn't been. Her first days spent in Syliras are a blur at best. She wouldn't have known how she came to be within the city walls had it not been for what others have told her. The days there after were riddled with pain and recovery. So, now that she is near fully recovered, there is plenty of time for the plague of horrible memories of her past to come flooding in and they have in fact, as of late, the memories are accompanied with a new found fondness of ale. When she's not working there, The Rearing Stallion is her favorite place to drown away sorrow. It wasn't unusual for her to be found sitting in a far corner table staring into her mug minding her memories. This evening isn't any any different, but thanks to an over crowded tavern and an annoyed Shiress, her pity party at The Stallion had been cut short. Shiress drained her mug, slid her chair out with barely enough room to stand and stepped away. The tavern was oddly crowded for what day it was and the loud, drunken voices had become intolerable considering her voice wasn't part of the obnoxious merriment. She slid and stepped around the gathered mass of standing patrons, paid for her ale and made her way to the door. A rather agitated expression forming under green eyes as she was bumped more than once causing her to stumble as she stepped through the door. Her arms crossed with a last exacerbated glance to the entrance as she onto the road. The city was beginning to darken with the falling sun. The torches already sporadically lit areas along the road. With a slight limp and sway to her gait, Shiress walked unhurried along the side with an occasional glance and feigned smile to passing faces. She wondered through the entrance of the Stone Garden. She glanced around to the handful of people scattered about before making her way to a more secluded stone bench. She leaned back against the vine covered stone watching the falling water from the fountain dance around the pool. Her thoughts were of a dark dismal past she wished she could escape. Her head lowered with a sigh and apprehensive smile. "How pathetic am I right now." She whispered. |
