Meeting Shiress[rearing stallion]

The rearing stallion, it was quickly becoming a habit for perc to drop in there after his training with his Patron to relax his stiffenend muscles a bit, drink a single pint of ale and maybe even have a bit of a talk with some others while he did so.

Perc walked inside the rearing stallion, giving a nod to the few people who he recognized from the squire barracks and looked for a free table to sit down at. Which much to the farmboy's disgrace seemed to be lacking today. So he lumbered towards the bar and sat himself down on one of the free barstools, motioning over the bartender.
“Give me an ale please.” he said in a tired tone as he slapped two sliver miza's on the bar. The bartender collected them quickly and a while later he set down a mug of ale before him.
Perc took a sip as he watched the rest of the tavern with a tired smile on his face.

Shiress reached around to her back, loosened her apron and placed it under the bar. Her fingers pulled at the ribbon around her hair pulling it free as brown swaying locks fell around her shoulders.

She glanced around to her coworker, smiled tossing her hand up and stepped out from the bar her eyes scanning the tavern for a free table, her green eyes squinting with a sigh seeing none available. She turned her head and ran her eyes down the length of the bar then stepped toward the first empty seat she spotted.

She made her way across the floor to the far end of the bar to the only empty seat wedged between the wall and another patron. She stepped up to the stool and with a sway took her seat. Her eyes glanced briefly to the stranger, taking in his dark hair, ponytail, then lingering a chime, with a slight raise of her eyebrow, on his very muscular arms before finally pulling her pack to her lap and began fumbling around inside.

Meeting Shiress[rearing stallion]

At first Perc didn't really pay much attention towards the woman that sat down next to him. Slightly more interested in downing a bit of his ale and getting his breath back first. But even to him it was obvious she was looking at him for some reason.
'Probably just a bit freaked at the height difference.' Perc thought to himself turning towards the woman.

"Hello, how you doing? I'm perc, nice to meet you." he said with a friendly smile on his face as he extended a hand towards her. "I haven't seen you around here. well, I did see you around here, but not when you aren't working."

Shiress turned her green eyes up to the man as he spoke.

Her hand lifted from her pack to meet his. "Im fine. Thank you, Im Shiress." Her gaze studied his face as he spoke.

"I don't venture out much, but I have seen you through a mug or two in here before. It's nice to finally meet you" A slight smile creased her lips as her armed motioned for the attendant.

She handed the bartender 2 silver mizas with a wink as mug of ale was placed in front of her. "Perc is it?" She pressed the mug against her lips taking a swallow. "Where you from Perc. She said lowering the mug looking again to the man.

"Likewise," perc said in a friendly tone as he gave her hand a firm handshake.
"Yes its perc, not percival, or percy like some people tend to call me," perc said, thinking back to the annoying habit of kreig to misspell his name at times.
"As for where I'm from, I'm from syliras, though I was born in the mithryn outpost some ten miles south of here. Its where the farmers live." he rattled. "Right now I'm living in the squire dormitories though, I'm training to be a knight." Perc took a sip from his ale.

"So I know you aren't from around the mithryn outpost. so are you born in syliras or do you come from outside the city?" He asked as he looked at the woman with a wide smile on his face.

Petch..was everyone in the city a Squire now

Shiress lifted her mug taking a rather large gulp. "I was born in Zeltive." She looked away as her finger ran the rim of her mug. "Spent some time in Sunberth and I just arrived in Syliras early last season."

She shifted her gaze back to Perc. "A squire you say? How nice, you must stay busy with training. There is quite a lot of squires in the city as of late" She gave the man a concocted smile and pulled her mug to her lips again.

"In sunberth? that couldn't have been a fun time for you. That entire city is a deathtrap filled to the brim with scum of all sorts." Perc said with a bit of shock. "You must have had a big stroke of luck to get out of there without being in chains and shipped to who knows where as a slave." that wasn't a nice tought.

He dropped the subject about her having been in sunberth, even he could figure that anybody wouldn't want to talk about their time spent in that hellhole.
"Most of the time yes my patron keeps himself busy with grinding me into the ground. He is way to good at it" perc said with a tired smile on his face. "As for more squires, not as far as I know. There have always been a lot of squires around to train up the next generation of syliran knights. You have to keep in mind that without the syliran knights there wouldn't be a syliras. A lot of people want to keep living here safely so there are always enough recruits around to train up into knights."

Meeting Shiress[rearing stallion]

Shiress lost a bit of ale from her lips at the mention of slave. She gave her chin a swipe with her sleeve and smiled. "A slave?" She gave a feigned shiver. "I couldn't imagine." Her eyes slid to Perc her lips giving a slight smirk "I guess you could say I was well...guarded."

As far as squires and knights go, Shiress knew the importance they held in the city and the need for men and women to train up through the ranks and form the next line of protectors of the city. She had a deep respect for a training squire..save one.

"Don't get me wrong I respect the training squire. I just cant remember a time that I met so many in conversation." She smiled with a raised brow. "Maybe I don't get out much."

That's an understatement!

Meeting Shiress[rearing stallion]

Postby Perc on March 24th, 2013, 5:39 pm

Perc gave the woman a raised eyebrow at her response to his remark about enslavement. A bit taken aback at her casual dismissal of the opportunity she could have been enslaved during her stay in that den filled to the brim with scum and villainy.
"Guarded? well that was good that you had a guardian with you then. probably made you seem like less of an easy target to the slavers then." Perc said with a shrug.

At her next statement perc just let out a loud laugh. "Seems like it. I would dare to bet on the fact that nearly half of the people here are either knights or squires on a day off. So if you never really talked to that many you really are to busy with work. Though I don't doubt your employer minds that much."
At this time the waitress came back with perc's ale and set it down before him. Perc quickly paid her. She just gave both of them a smile and went back to work.

He took a long sip from the pint of ale, letting out a pleased sigh. "Nothing beats a good ale after a long day of work don't you say."

Shiress sat quietly for a chime watching Perc as he drank from his second mug of ale.

As his mug lowered to the table her eyes followed, her expression becoming a bit more somber. Despite her best efforts to play off the mention of slaves, her looming memories of her own enslavement still threatened to afflict her mood. She knew Perc wasn't to blame. He had no idea. She couldn't bring him down with her.

Her attention diverted back to the man as he spoke. She heard what he said despite being lost in thought and snapped back her composer with a smile. "I love a good ale." She said then lifted her mug and drained the last bit from the bottom. Glancing back to Perc, she sighed and smiled. "And I think I'll leave you to your your's sir, Perc."

She pulled her bag to her lap and placed her hand on the squires shoulder. "It was really nice meeting you." She said smiling as she stood.
