A fun IC game, anyone?

Postby Andariel on May 13th, 2014, 6:51 am

"Children? Are you referring to those disgusting burden-filled creatures? formed by the unwise deeds of mediocre humans? No! I'd rather let my story write itself, every person's success is seen throughout history. It's impossible for it to be ignored, were there any successful people whose stories were ignored? I'm certain my own life will, in time, write themselves at the eyes and minds of people, even if it is......dramatically nauseating in some way."

"Opportunities are always there hiding behind our backs and we don't even realize they're there once we find them. Of course, these opportunities possess a way for us to prosper, who wouldn't want a life of prosperity and success? My question is, would you rather find that opportunity and take it? or spend time to enjoy......wasting the very last sands of your life never knowing that you've already drowned yourself with complete ignorance?"

"Woah. I'm not even sure how to respond to that...When you put it that way, I'm all for taking that opportunity. Not like I wanna drown in sand or something.

"My turn now? Alright, soooo would you rather...wrestle a bear or...become a horse's steed."

"I'll take the sands of Eyktol over the sea's every time. I can't swim work a shyke and I heard drowning is the worst way to go. Not that I really agree on that. I've seen people be killed and I killed some people in pretty disgusting way's."

".. Oh right a question. Would you rather have the runs for the rest of your life. No cure possible, not even those fancy healer types with their god tattoe's. But be so rich you could buy a city. Or always be healthy but have misfortune stick to you like tar?"

*Sigh*

"What is it with you people and these questions? Nobody can mind their own business these days it seems...."

"Fine. I would rather be healthy with misfortune. I'm already healthy with misfortune and I like it just fine, thanks."

"What, I have to ask a question? Shyke....

If you knew someone you loved was going to die a slow death, and you knew for certain they would definitely die in the end, would you let them run their natural course, or would you put them out of their mercy?"

*considers*
"Out of their mercy? You mean misery? Well, it would really depend. Are they dying a slow, painful death?
You know, really, other than an extremely cunning or perhaps lucky Nuit, all things die or disappear with time, even for Ghosts and Ethaefals. 'Death,' just varies in when it will arrive. In the end, I think I would leave the decision up to them, whether or not they want to die- what right would I have decide for them?"

"Mmm... a question..."

*peers at the next person*

"Say the God or Goddess you worship turns on you, only you don't know it is to test your faith in them- and no, you cannot say that they wouldn't do that, or that you don't believe in any higher being; this is just a 'what if' scenario- would you still hold your faith in them? Or would you turn away from them?"

"The gods represent ideals, do they not? How does one turn on an ideal without betraying oneself in the process? No, I would keep my faith. It does not do to bend your knee to every breeze the world sees fit to batter you with. If it is a test, so be it. If it is not, I will not alter who I am on the whim of another; God or no.

That is a question answered and a question earned, by my count. I suppose we shall keep with the theme of deities. Can a God give a direction contrary to their tenants and in so doing redefine them? For the sake of the exercise let us suppose that Sylir descended and ordered us to wipe the Drykas from the plains - a distinctly warlike act, whatever their faults - in the name of civilisation. Does Sylir - as the God of such things - not define what civilisation is? Would such a direction be contrary to those beliefs, or would the order alone be enough to redefine them?"
On indefinite leave, but still checks in from time to time.

"Ye askin' if Oi would listen t' Sylir, if Oi followed 'im o' course, and in follow e'ry order given t' me? Well dat more o' less depends really cause Oi'm all de more inclined t' listen t' me God or Goddess wit' reason.

Meanin' if it involves such a t'ing like a personal quest fer de Divine den sure, but if Oi was tasked wit' takin de life o' anot'er? Petch no. No small life couldn't possibly be worth followin' de demands o' a Divine, Oi say defy such a God if he wanted me t' commit such an act. Even if Oi 'ave t' fight fate itself Oi'll listen t' me own heart, over de words o' a spoken God!

Speakin' o' fate... If given a choice, since it's a similar topic, would ye allow yer self t' become the subject o' fate, and in turn obey de call of destiny on a whim? Or would ye rat'er take matters in yer own hands, create yer own destiny and defy de odds against ya, and in turn carve out yer own fate?"

••••••••••••••••••

Just so Evalin doesn't come along and steal this question, I will be answering this.

I think it really depends on where I am at when I have to make the decision. I have gone down both roads before, leaving on both good and bad terms for each. I would like to say that if I was in a good position, no one is dying some horrible death, I have a job, a roof over my head and food to eat, etc, I would not want fate to come around and petching it all up. I was rather take it into my own hands because how does fate know what we want? It is a concept. It doesn't know. It'd probably turn around and bring some plague to my city and end up getting me sick for all I know.

However, if I was in a bad position, like I always appear to be, I think fate would do a better job at cleaning up the mess and putting me in a better position than I am. Yes, I could always do it myself, but if I am already at rock bottom, then it doesn't really matter where fate takes me because it will be like a new start, in a way. Wherever I end up I end up and I will just start from there.

But again, it depends. You should be more specific with your questions lad!Okay, now for my question, since we are still kinda on the topic of gods and fate and stuff.

If someone very close to died, or something terribly horrible happened to you, whatever that may be to you, due to the works of a certain gods, what would you do? Try to slay the god that caused it to prevent further evil (if you had unlimited time and resources all that stuff)? Or worship the god in hopes of coming on better terms with the god so he would spare you and the people you know? (Yes, you can pick the god/goddess in which you are talking about)

OOCDang it Gale!

"Such foolishness to bother to question what may or may not occur. All that mortals should worry with is the next day and the coming of Dira who is surely just around the corner. Yet still, allow me grant you this one kindness and answer this question with the wisdom born of ages of existence through trials that would cause children such as you to whimper."

"Mind yourself and your words, for such things have caused many a retort for lesser claims."

"Yes yes my dear Tsenrika, but I trust the children shall play nicely with us this day for fear of what retribution might await them."

"Then let us hope so..."

"Mind it not then oh Heart of my Heart. But let us consider the question proposed. You ask what would I do if someone close to me died due to a certain god or goddess? If such were the case then no action would be called for. Those around me are only tools, pawns in the grandest mechanics which I orchestrate from the darkness which envelopes me. If on of these tools simply dies then I shall replace it with another, more capable tool who shall not so easily fail me. If such acts were done against me I would simply continue on my course. Once the greatest evil is vanquished and I sit upon the throne of Fate itself that God or Goddess shall feel my wrath and I shall wipe her from the face of this world. Let those beings on high tread lightly in my path, for my hatred knows no bounds and my mind shall never forget what is owed to them. And rest assured, I shall succeed with all that I have said, and this they know a well."

"I grow weary of this farce. Tsenrika, my love, do entertain the children while I attend to other matters."

"Very well my Master. If you were given the choice between your own life and the life of your child, and this child was destined to cause such great destruction in the world that his name will be cursed for 1000 years, what would you choose? Shall you save your son who shall do only great evil, or save yourself and in turn save the whole of the world. Ponder this mortals."

Wretched Aura: As a Wretched One Evalin possesses an unnatural aura about her that causes unease in those who get too close. It can come as a prickle of the hair on the back of the neck, a sense of 'wrongness' about her. How people experience it is different depending on their personality and how they handle the unnatural and unknown. Animals tend to become more agitated, more easily sensing how wrong Evalin is and often avoiding contact with her.
