HISTORY
There was always one problem about Akhtar, he never truly managed to achieve the work his family did. Sure, he had honour, he had drive, but he could never quiet grasp things at the same level as everyone else. When he was a child, they just thought he was a slow learner that struggled with his studies. Then they tried to help him with the sword. Sure, that worked to a degree, but something was never quiet right. According to his teachers at least.
They tried him elsewhere, still nothing. It continued for a while, the eyes looking down upon him, silently judging and waiting until he stumbled into his own little niche. Time went on, and the sting of his parent's disappointment hit him hard. By the time he reached adulthood most of the family chose to ignore him, even when he managed to find something that did interest him. He had supposedly spent too long finding his place in Lhavit. At the moment however, he seems to be fitting in where he is and enjoying his work. He scrapes up the pieces and marches himself on, surviving, living, and working. Time however will tell if he is best suited for such a profession.
Or at least, that's the story he tells everyone.
Thus far
In Spring 513 Akhtar begun work once more in the Scholar's Demise as a bartender. Outside of that not a lot happened. Short of the place getting attacked by Zith and having to fight his way to safety. What a season.
The Real History
Akhtar is far from a native of Lhavit, let alone the Kalea Region. Those who know him and manage to get the truth out of him will one day find this out. Akhtar first arrived in the city of Lhavit coming up for nine years ago, exhausted, beaten and most importantly defeated. The group he was travelling with had been wiped out by the unforgiving, and in turn it forced Akhtar to put aside his life living by the blade.
But what of his life before then? Akhtar was a child of Syliras, raised with its sense of honour and keeping of peace. For years he lived within the walls of the city, working, learning, understanding the way the city worked. It was in a sense both a simple and hard working life. And one that he would never trade. In Akhtar's childhood years, he was drilled early on how to lead and the ideals of honour. Rigorous training and days filled with learning. He was destined to be a knight from the moment he was born, and it was a destiny he could not escape. So he had little choice other than to embrace it. Like many of the children of the knights, Akhtar was sent off to become a page at the age of ten, and by the age of thirteen became a squire. By the time he had turned eighteen Akhtar received his knighting quest before finally becoming a knight. Not that his training stopped there. For the next two years the young man honed in on his skills where he could.
That was, however, until he was called upon a quest. Or more correctly to assist on one. His group was sent across the Suvan and to Kalea. At first, despite the dangers that were about the group managed to take it's way from Kalea, following the one who was given the quest with very little information to go on. As the group neared Lhavit though, events turned to the worse, and young Akhtar was left beaten and torn by the ordeal. With the rest of his group dead, or soon to be, the quest was little more than abandoned.
After arriving in Lhavit, Akhtar put aside the life of the blade. He had no way to return to Syliras, and by the time he had recovered properly two years had past. Even if he wanted to, he could not. It was without a doubt that he was thought dead, and without any immediate or fast means in getting in touch with his people it was safe to say he was stranded. He dared not to leave the city, alone or in a group as the traumatic experiences in the unforgiving had mostly frightened him. And most importantly with the dawning failure of the quest lying before him, he felt he had dishonoured his ways and become unworthy to return. He became little more than a fallen knight.
Yet just as it appeared that he had failed, he was also released to choose his own path and destiny. And so he started a new life from the beginning once more and never turned back.
