AppearanceRace: Dhani (Constrictor)
Gender: Female
Age: 147
Birthday: 33rd, Spring, 366
Birthplace: Zinrah
Gnosis Marks: 1, Yahal (Ennervism)
Appearance:Human Form: Vira’s human form is 6 feet tall, 176 lbs, built lithe and athletic. She is much stronger than she looks, with her nature as a Constrictor Dhani, and her strength exceeds that of a human. Her eyes are an icy blue, which sparkle and shine throughout all three of her forms. Her hair is lengthy and jet-black, and her skin is very pale from her years spent living in the Zinrah caves. Her looks are astoundingly attractive, a fact which she dislikes, as combined with her height, it draws unneeded attention to her, making passing off as human more difficult. Her Gnosis Mark from Yahal is inscribed upon her left palm, spelling out a single, archaic letter of the deity's name.
Snake Form: Her snake form is 43 feet long, and her scales are jet-black, just as her hair in her human form. Her eyes stand out icy blue in this form as well, seeming to glow. She feels more natural in this form, though she does not get to assume it very often, for fear of discovery by her fellow citizens. This form can easily overpower any ordinary human with sheer speed and terrifying strength.
Dhani: Her arms ripple with lean muscle in her Dhani form, which is the form she least often assumes. It is 22 feet long, and as with her snake form, it is jet black with ice blue eyes.
Character ConceptVira is a shy individual, though she does not lack confidence. Her years of fighting and hunting in Zinrah have instilled in her a security about her own skills.
Vira spends a majority of her time in human form, as a part of her attempt to become a Syliran Knight. She keeps her status as a Dhani a secret from all her peers, and because of this deception, she can come off as reclusive or cold, when in actuality she is simply afraid of expressing herself. Like many Dhani, she enjoys combat and physical contest, though she is careful to limit her physical strength when training so as not to rouse suspicion. Vira regards the use of ranged weapons as cowardly, and prefers to close with her opponent and combine grappling with swordplay.
She tends to become angered quickly when talked down to or bested by a great margin in any avenue of physical combat. She dislikes the feeling of helplessness or being powerless.
She speaks very slowly and deliberately, careful to enunciate the sounds of the common tongue so as to avoid revealing her perpetual lisp. She is prone to pausing before words, making her appear very contemplative and thoughtful, if somewhat indecisive. She tends to avoid using excessive words starting with‘s’ sounds.
Despite her deception regarding her true form, Vira is honorable and truthful in her dealings as a part of her remade life.
She prays to (and is Marked by) Yahal, now forgoing the worship of Siku, believing that with his guidance, she can finally come to terms with leading her dual life and becoming a better person.
Character HistoryPre Creation:
Born as a hatchling like so many others in the Zinrah caves, Vira led a very simplistic life of hunting and training. She rarely ventured away from her kin, and disliked the idea of leaving the nest to travel as some Dhani do, and was simply content to live a life underground, training to become a protector of the young Dhani of the future against any threats of the outside.
She dedicated much of her life to learning the ways of wrestling, and demonstrated her prowess upon her prey many times.
Vira formerly worshipped Siku, the goddess of the Dhani, and offered unto her many sacrifices of both mundane and sentient life, believing that this bloody path would lead her to become favored by the goddess. She mothered a clutch of hatchlings, as her kind is wont to do. She protected them fiercely, but she could not keep track of them all, with many of the younglings wandering out into the surrounding jungles around Zinrah.
From there, they met a cruel, yet commonplace fate. They were slaughtered by Myrians, each and every one.
Vira’s grief was greater than her rage. She was a broken individual for a time, nearly starving herself to death in mourning. Over time, the once-sanctuary that Zinrah was to her became an eternal reminder of her failure as a mother. The culture of the Dhani revered reproduction and motherhood, and she felt she had failed the goddess, Siku.
It was at this point that Vira resolved to leave the caves for Syrilas, having heard tales of the honor and strength of the Knights who serve there. She was called out to by the god, Yahal, and given his Gnosis mark for her blind, yet unshakable trust in him. Her skills in native survival allowed her to avoid the Myrians long enough to travel to Syrilas. She left her life as a Dhani behind, and embraced a future life as a human, where she hoped to become a Knight to learn to protect the innocent, as she felt she should have done with her hatchlings.
She currently resides in the city.
