4th of Spring
Aose hands were frozen stiff, they could barely flex as she leaned against the pole of her shovel, the blade of said shovel was buried in a foot and a half of snow that threatened to overtake her footwear due to windy conditions. She couldn't believe her luck!
“Stupid boys and idiot girls trying to make said boys like them. Get me in trouble. I didn't even have a snowball!” the young yasi growled from clenched jaw and grinding teeth. Her lips were a lovely shade of blue and her teeth were trying to enforce a chatter to ensue. Luckily Aose had enough self-control to keep her pearly whites from making too much noise, only a little clicking here and there occurred.
Gripping the shovel once more Aose lifted it's blade from the white horror and started once again to shovel away at it. She was tired of seeing it and she was going to be super excited and happy to see the fluffy stuff gone once and for all. |

Shivering greatly the poor Yasi had managed to shovel several feet of snow from around her small body before she decided to toss the shovel aside and head back upward into the caves to get warm. Bugger this junk! I didn’t even throw any snow at anyone, yet I get pulled into this. Screw that. Rubbing her arms vigorously Aose stormed off.
Ignoring her numb extremities Aose was quick to get into the cave system she called home with all the other locally bred and remaining Inartas. Standing before a small fire Aose finally allowed the rest of her senses to kick in. It was the heavenly scent of spices and hard cider, a drink usually held off in reserve for the winter days, but today may be the start of Spring, but it was clearly winter outside. Sniffing at the scent the Yasi started to make her way towards the spiced drink that hailed her senses.
Oh how lovely a mug of spiced cider would warm my fingers and body. |

Unfortunately she was to get none. There wasn’t a drop left in the pot when she arrived to it. The other yasi and the few Chiets and Avoras that were there got what was made. “My luck.” She sighed and plodded her way back to sit beside the fire, it was warm enough and soon it was lulling her to a slumber she was trying hard to fight off.
The warmth and the freezing task she had just finished did indeed leave her tired and it was only a matter of time before the heat’s pull on her exhaustion won out and the yasi fell into a slumber before the fireplace.
Aose’s dream was unlike anything she ever imagined before, surely she had dreams that resembled this, but this one was so much more lifelike…
She was riding on the back of a large eagle, feeling the wind in her hair and Syna’s rays across her face. It was a dream she wished to remain in for all eternity…
Too bad she woke in a hurry, her backside was aching something fierce and the young girl quickly lost the small threads of the dream she wanted to desperately to remember. |
