Placing one of the jugs in her backpack and strapping another to it, she walked up to Keorvic. Seeing the disappointment in his expression, despite the new stuff he carried, she assumed that the fishing stall had been less than satisfactory. "Follow me," she led him through the streets, passing various stalls filled with wooden children's toys, clothing, dishes and pottery, blankets, and riding gear. She stopped once at a stall decorated with fancy hats, trying on one after the other until finally she decided that none of them looked good on her. They passed a low grade weapons stall, with only a few good selections, and moved on. "There's not much for quality down here," she said, her fine sense of judgement coming into play now. "Lets look around a bit more, then I say we head to that archery store I heard about on the streets. I think they called it the feather and shaft." Passing a spice stall, she decided that it would probably be a good idea to buy some for their journey, bland meat was usually not very tasteful. She purchased 5 silver mizas worth of garlic and salt combined, and a belt pouch for 1 gold miza. She attached the pouch to her belt and placed the spices in it, then continued through the streets of the bazaar. "Is there anything you would like?" she turned around to Keorvic. |

He nodded his head in agreement. "You are right, I did not find anything much of quality here." he followed her to the hat stall and watched her try on several rather fetching hats. he watched her tire quickly with trying them on, and the suddenly turn to scamper away into the crowd again. he cought up to her at a spice stall, looking through and smelling all the choices. Keorvic inspected the spices. there were a few there of quite good quality, and a few that he could even use on his fish. he smiled at Akiva and nodded when she asked if there was something he wanted, then quickly picked out a few spices that he might be able to use. "also keep your eyes open for an armorer if possible. I would like something heavier than my leather jerkin if we run into trouble on our way to sunberth."he said to his beautiful companion. |

"I think I see something like that down there," she said, pointing toward a stall in the distance filled with what appeared to be different kinds of armors and a few weapons. There were shields hanging up on the walls of the stall, some decorated with lions, others with aquatic creatures, and others with strange shapes and symbols she had never seen. "Ooh look at all the pretty shapes and shiny colors!" she was now taking interest in a particularly shiny shield, its front decorated with something they called a gryphin. She was sure those couldn't exist. The owner of the stall gave her a look, and she stopped messing with the shield, placing herself behind Keorvic. "I didn't mean to anger him.." she said lowly, so that only she and Keorvic could hear. |

"Don't worry, he probably just doesn't like women...or something..." Keorvic trailed off. That would not be much better. "Either way, I don't think this will take very long." he approached the man buffing one of his many armor pieces and addressed the man squarely.
"Hello, I am Keorvic, and I have need of some of your fine armor. a breastplate is what I am searching for, and I am willing to pay however much is fair." he stated. The man grunted and pulled out a tape with markings notating length and quickly set about measuring Keorvic's dimensions. "Yer lucky." said the man. "I happen to have something that will fit you just fine, and should come pretty cheap too. You'll be able to wear that leather armor underneath, but anything that piecres my breastplate there wont be slowed at all by a bit of leather."
After a small bit of haggling, a price was agreed upon, and the man showed Keorvic how to strap himself into the breastplate. Keorvic handed over a couple hundred gold mizas, and turned to leave the shop, happy with his purchase. As he did, however, a strange shape caught his eye. It was a pair of gauntlets, articulated fingers and wrist joints expertly made, but from the knuckles extended inch and a half long spikes, grooved and wickedly pointed. as he looked closer he could see that there was an indention in the back of the handplate where you could store some sort of pouch or something.
Turning back to the armorer, Keorvic asked how much the spiked gauntlets would be, and what might be held in such a pouch. "Those will be just a few mizas, and are for brawlers. the indentation is where some fools put a pouch of poison that will run down the knuckles and will be delivered with a solid hit. Ye won't be finding much poison around here though, so the extra mizas may not be worth it to you."
"No no, I would be happy to pay the extra. my companion and I are planning an expedition soon, and any extra edge I can have would be useful." Keorvic replied, grasping his coinpouch and fishing out a few of his last gold mizas. The armorer nodded that the coins would be sufficient payment, and unhooked the gauntlets from the stall. he handed them to keorvic, and bid the vantha to leave the stall so he could continue his work. as Keorvic stepped out into the road, he saw Akiva loitering nearby. He hurried over and told her of his plan to search for an apothecary nearby to see if maybe he could afford this extra edge. "But first, lets head to your archery shop" He said to his beautiful companion. He smiled as she lead the way, happy to have made such wise purchases this day. |

Akiva watched absently as he made his purchases, not sure why he wanted to dress like a fighter now. She thought he was just a fisherman. Oh well, the safer the better I guess, and nothing bad could come from a more armored and better armed Keorvic. She led him through the streets of Syliras until they came to a shop with a sign hanging over it saying 'The Feather and Shaft'. "This is it." She walked in, instantly amazed by the variety of bows and arrows and archers equipment they had for sale. She had to have been standing there for quite some time before she heard a voice behind her.
"Interested in archery?" She turned around to see a man, tall and slender with short clipped brown hair and tan skin standing behind her. "I could teach you a thing or two about it if you want. I don't charge much."
"Oh, I wouldn't know where to begin, but I would love to learn," she told the man. "How much do you charge?"
"50 gold mizas would do it, I could teach you the basics and such, and help you pick out your gear since you seem a bit lost," he smirked, having watched her look around with no luck for a while.
"I would appreciate that, if you please. Where can we meet, and when?" she was excited now, she was going to have someone teach her archery, then she could hunt!
"Tomorrow on the edge of the Bronze Wood there's a small training area for archers. We'll meet there. Now, what are you looking to do with your archery? Combat? Hunting? Something else?"
"Hunting is what I'm aiming for, I figure it'd be a lot easier than how I hunt now, with my daggers." She looked around. The smell of wood was strong in the air in here, it reminded her of the forest...of the hunt.
"You'll be needing a shortbow then, which is probably best for your stature. A quiver will be needed too, probably a large one for a hunter, since they hold about fifty arrows. Then you'll need gloves and archer's bracers. That should about cover it. Meet me there tomorrow for your lesson." He didn't wait for her to speak, and slipped out of the store.
"What a strange man..." she said to herself, and started looking through the store. She picked out a nice shortbow and a quiver, one hundred arrows to fill her quiver and have fifty extra. She already had gloves she could use, and picked out a fitting bracer to finish off her purchases. She handed over the gold to the sales person and walked out to find Keorvic.
"Some nice man offered to teach me archery," she told him. "Now let's go find that apo...apothe...apotekary? Whatever it was you called it." |

"Oh, well I don't have much money left, and what I do have I would like to spend on something more useful than poison. " He said. Keorvic looked around, suddenly hungry. "Wait, why does the thought of poison make me hungry?" he thought to himself, giving himself reason to pause. "Maybe its just one of those morbid things, like looking at a fire and thinking you want to touch it. or standing on a cliff and wanting to jump." he smiled at himself.
"I'd honestly rather spend some money on maybe a nice meal. If you know of any classy restaurants we could dine at...?" He trailed off with a wink. He offered her his arm, and then realized how incredibly ridiculous he looked standing there in a breastplate holding fishing gear and some spiked gauntlets, and winking and offering an arm to a beautiful girl. He coughed "Ahem, maybe we could stop by Travelers Row and drop off some of this unnecessary stuff." he said, hoping she hadn't caught his moment of awkwardness. |

She laughed at the sight. He looked so unnecessarily bulky with all his newly made purchases. She wasn't too lightweight now either though, with everything she was carrying.. "Yes, let's go to the apartment. Then we can go to the Golden Dragon for some food." She led the way back through the streets, which were now packed with people. She unlocked the door to the apartment, letting him put down his stuff as she did, then led him back through the streets of Syliras.
She came to the doors of the Golden Dragon, opening it to a well lit room that was very tidy in organization. Numerous people dined within, served by beautiful women.
"How many I help you this fine evening?" said a male, dressed in nice looking clothes.
"We'd like a table for two, if you please," she said, trying to be as polite as he was.
"Right this way miss," he said, leading them through the tables already filled with table to the back of the building. An attractive woman with long red hair. She wore beautiful clothing which accented her figure and looks, yet didn't reveal almost anything, to her surprise. She wore a golden bracelet around her wrist. "What can I get for you two?" she asked politely. |

"Ack! why did she pick a gentlemen's club?" Keorvic thought frantically as he followed Akiva through the resturant. "well, actually she's still the prettiest one here. I just hope she doesn't start taking her clothes off or something!" he realized he was falling behind and didn't want to get lost in the restaurant, so he hurried to catch up.
Keorvic managed to catch up right before they were seated, but Akiva seemed too engrossed in all the shiny objects and interesting looking people to notice his discomfort. when the waitress finally showed up and asked what they would like, Keorvic was completely at a loss. he had no clue what sort of food they served here, and motioned for Akiva to order first. |

She looked over to Keorvic, giving him the option to order first, but when he didn't say anything, she said to the waitress, "We'll take the finest meal you've got for now, long as there's no vegetables."
The waitress smiles. "I'll have that right out then, along with your wine. Dessert will be served after the meal." She walked off to get the food.
"This place is a little bit fancy," she told Keorvic, "I wasn't expecting this much from what I heard from people." The waitress came back a few minutes later, setting down a cup of wine in front of Keorvic and herself. "Thank you."
"Welcome, miss. We'll have your dinner out as soon as we can." She half curtsied and left again.
"She's quite a bit more clothed than the rest of these women, I guess she doesn't need to show off her body to be beautiful," Akiva said, not jealous in the slightest. She took a sip of her wine. Keorvic looked nervous for some reason, but she wasn't sure why. She shrugged, he'd probably just never seen so many pretty girls at once. |

Keorvic was intimidated by the shear acreage of skin on display in the so-called "restaurant." He had found much joy in appreciating the female body in the past, but such rendezvous were private and intimate affairs. He shot a furtive glance at his dinner companion. She seemed to be enjoying the bright colors and taking in the sights, completely at ease."Well she would be. The kelvic back at whitehold only ever wore clothes when they were spending large amounts of time as humans."
He decided that if she was going to be at ease, then he would enjoy himself while he was here. He looked around again, this time surveying what sights could be seen. Here a pale woman dancing enticingly, clad in translucent green silk. There another woman sat curled around a laughing man, whispering in his ear and smiling. Further back he caught a glimpse of a woman leading a giggling man into a narrow door.
"Surely the knights would have something to say about this establishment." he again thought to himself. He didn't find anything morally wrong, but surely this was an affront to Syliras or something. His confusion doubled when he saw a pair of men who were clearly apprentice knights and just as clearly drunk openly fondling another silk clad woman, this one with dark hair and darker skin. She seemed to be in some distress, and Keorvic moved to do something about it when he caught sight of the largest man he had ever seen.
Easily four feet shoulder to shoulder, this man towered over everyone, and had such a grim cast to his face that Keoric felt he must be a criminal of some sort. As he reached the inebriated novices, he took out a short blackjack and bashed it against the nearest one's skull. the other stood up and moved to draw his weapon, but was immediately laid out. quick as that, the man's demeanor changed and he seemed to be a concerned father, helping the woman to her feet and dusting her off, seemingly asking her if she was okay. she nodded to him and headed off to the back rooms and the man turned to pick up the pair of smaller men.
Keorvic turned back to Akiva. "Interesting choice for food." he said, hoping to draw her attention back to himself. he proceeded to make small talk with her until their food arrived; two dishes stacked tall with oysters and fringed with other delicacies. Their server winked at him as she turned away, as though she knew something that he did not. shrugging, he showed his kelvic friend how to shuck and eat the oysters, and then proceeded to eat his whole portion. he had been hungrier than he had thought, and this took far less time than one would have thought. |
