Time: The First Day of Summer, 510.

Skylar was lying in the outdoor courtyard of Syliras, in front of the castle. It was a beautiful summer day and he seemed very interested in the large, puffy white clouds that floated above in the otherwise clear sky. The Valterrian had come and gone, and yet the world continued. Sometimes Skylar wondered if he stayed alive just to marvel at that wonder. Just to see what was around the corner.

He was in the body of a young man, no older than fifteen, with dull brown hair and a casual look about him. Innocent face, innocent eyes. The kind of fellow you might find tending a farm or something. And the real deal, Ahntony had been his name, was rather similar to the cliche. He had been dreaming of adventure, lazy and fun-loving. Skylar had rather liked him. It was refreshing to see that kind of personality in today's otherwise jaded youth.

Now that Skylar was behind the wheel of the meatsack, he had no real intention of changing the apparent course.

He was lying down in the courtyard, as had been established, but he was not alone. His older sister, Miriam, had deigned to accompany him on this journey. He was lying in her lap, as a matter of fact, and it was to her he sometimes directed a lazy comment: "Does that cloud look like a Zith?" And so forth. Of course, she was not, in truth his sister, nor was she older, but he didn't particularly care for details. Her name wasn't even Miriam. Skylar couldn't remember her name, but it wasn't Miriam.

She would play the part, however, she would be more than happy to, if it would mean he would pretend to love her for a while.
To-morrow, and to-morrow, and to-morrow,
Creeps in this petty pace from day to day,
To the last syllable of recorded time;
And all our yesterdays have lighted fools

There was a definite glow of happiness in Miriam. She couldn’t remember when Skylar had begun calling her that nor when he would again change her name to something different. She couldn’t decide whether or not she cared.

Something inside her nagged at her. Your happiness is false. Your fears are real. What are you doing here still, “Miriam”? Why do you linger?

Miriam could not find the answers, so she silenced the part of her that hated and stroked Skylar’s hair softly, unobtrusively, unsure what would set him off and break him out of the current serenity he seemed to be floating in like the fluffy clouds drifting overhead.

“That one looks like a bird,” she said, pointing to a cloud vaguely shaped like something with extended wings, white and soaring in the perfect blue sky. Something made her want to get up and run and another made her want to lean down and kiss her ‘younger brother’. What charade was he playing now? How many uses did she have left until he became bored and left her, giving her back to time and letting her die inside?

If only he really loved you. If only he wasn’t the only thing that kept you alive.

OOCNot sure if Skylar is a male or female since in your CS sheet says you possesed a female but if I made a mistake just tell me so :)

He ruffled his hair feeling a little tired after helping his mother but not getting any pay for it. He was beginning to realize money mean't alot more than it had seem to him. He liked to explore outside of stormhold since incside it felt to cramped, so many things. Outside he felt like he had more air even if it was still crowded.

He had felt a little lonely especially since it was hard for him to make friends. As it had been lately he had been meeting strange curious people. He never got much of an explanation of what something was and felt to embarrassed to even ask. It made him frustrated sometimes at how timid he could be to just ask why some people that walked around him looked blue or any other weird color. The last thing he wanted to see was walking corpses.

He even heard here and there words of a god or goddess, it seemed to be an object of worship. Just another subject he was embarrased to ask. Then there was the petching berries. He was walking outside of the castle towards the courtyard when he saw two girls gathered closely together. He figured they were probably sisters, he approached them with a wave.

"Hello there, saw you two alone here and couldn't help but stop by and ask you two a question? I'm sorry if I seem rude my name is Aedai." He ended his setence with a smile as he thought to himself it wouldn't be so bad if he asked two random girls what a petching berry was.

Temporarily broken from her flase bliss, Miriam looked up at the newcomer with amber eyes. She had to stop herself from morphing and fleeing. After so long with no company other than Skylar, direct human contact made her uneasy, feral and wild, and she longed both to run and to leap to protect Skylar, spitting and hissing. Not that her master needed her protection. Not that she could provide it.

Miriam said nothing, but stared at Aedai in a calculating manner, unblinking, unnerving, her slitted eyes wide like a cornered animal. The feral feeling did not fade and she dared not speak. She didn't know if Skylar would allow it.
