The ghost's reaction had not been what Cyrus had expected, the loud shriek had drawn some eyes but for the most part the people went about their business. The warrior felt his skin crawl in revulsion as Kouri clung tighter to his arm, her presence was very uncomfortable but bearable. Cyrus had gained from the outburst that whatever happened with her parents was very unpleasant, most likely it had to due with her current state, however that was speculation on his part.
The warrior placed his hand on her head again, trying to give the child what little comfort he could give. His goals were certainly not pure but even he had a heart, somewhere. The sight of crying children, dead or otherwise, was one of the few things capable of tugging his black heart strings. He made a low hushing sound that his mother had often used with him when he had been a young child.
"I'm sorry I brought up an unpleasant memory, Miss Kouri." Cyrus said, genuinely feeling a degree of remorse for causing the spirit some form of pain.
A future brutal dictator he might be but even a villain had a heart, her situation was truly pitiable. A young girl doomed to walk the world until she found closure, such a crime.
