This grand and decidedly ancient tower is the medical facility and hospital in Lhavit. A narrow staircase winds up toward the second highest point on Tenten peak, leading into a narrow marble corridor. Once through the hallway, there is a central room. This is considered the reception area for incoming patients. Shelves upon shelves of medical supplies line the walls, accessible by large, mobile ladders. A circular staircase wrought wholly from skyglass sits in the middle of the room, moving up through the varying lofts. There are four lofts in total, the first of which being the resident sickroom. Once a patient is admitted, they recover in their own section. Accommodations include a small but comfortable futon, a small table to keep personal affects, and an elegant wall partition for privacy.
The other lofts vary in function. The second is the operating area, where doctors perform more complex medical tasks. This area houses only two beds, separated by a partition and a whole host of surgical implements. This area is the least utilized, as Lhavitians are a hearty people and tend to stay fit and healthy. The third loft is the recovery room where doctors and patients alike read, converse, and undergo physical therapy. Several couches line the walls, alongside bookshelves and tables. The last and topmost loft is the scrub room and lounge. Doctors and medics go here to relax and prepare before surgery, mentally and otherwise. This area is well-lit and graced by one of Lhavit's best sights as it overlooks the Tranquil Port.
The term 'Catholicon' means cure all, and the facility has held true to its name with the passage of time. It is worked and owned by a particularly talented medical team, headed by a keen-eyed Symenestra woman by the name Alessia Amaryllis. She has worked in Lhavit for fifty years without incident, and is renowned as an exceptional physician. She is rumored to have successfully extracted Widow children from incoming Kalinor hostages and is actively involved in the underground movement opposing the Harvest.

Rasika
Name: Rasika
Race: Eypharian
Birthdate: 487 AV
Birthplace: Eyktol
Occupation: Receptionist at the Catholicon
Skills: Calligraphy - 50, Copying - 40, Cosmetology - 20, Mathematics - 28, Organization - 80, Philosophy - 40, Politics - 35, Writing - 72
Languages: Common (Fluent), Arumenic (Fluent)
Rasika is a relatively young six-armed Eypharian who moved to Lhavit several years ago, and is one of the few Eypharians in the city. She is almost always behind the front desk at the Catholicon, greeting patients and dealing with medical prescriptions and payments; she is often multi-tasking, scribbling something down with one pair of arms while organizing or dealing with payments with the other set.
Rasika was born in Eyktol to a relatively well-known and well-off family, but something always seemed lacking in her life. Beautiful and wealthy, she never questioned anything, dutifully learning politics, mathematics, and philosophy from teachers her parents assigned to her, but she found it all very superficial. At 23, she met a Chaktawe man, who she fell in love with; his somber attitude, deep spirituality, and plain clothes were all new and strange to her, but Rasika found herself fascinated.
When the time came for her lover to move on, she went with him; eventually, the two decided to go their separate ways, but their parting was amicable and they hold each other fondly in their memories.
Rasika didn't wish to return to Eyktol, as her parents had been furious with her choice to leave, and with a Chaktawe man at that, so she decided to leave the desert. Eventually, she heard of a lovely mountainous city; despite all she had learned, she still yearned for beauty and had a soft spot for pretty things, and the sound of the sparkling city appealed immensely to her.
Upon arriving, Rasika found work at the Catholicon; while a mere receptionist, she felt working at such a place was a worthy job, and while perhaps still slightly snobby, she has settled into the role nicely.

Alessia Amaryllis
Name: Alessia Amaryllis
Race: Mixed blood (Human/Symenestra)
Birthdate: 486 AV
Birthplace: Kalinor
Occupation: Doctor at the Catholicon
Skills: Biology - 68, Botany - 25, Herbalism - 55, Hypnotism - 50, Leadership - 50, Medicine - 85, Philtering - 40, Poison - 76
Languages: Common (Fluent), Symenos (Fluent)
Doctor Alessia has always been considered an anomaly. This crimson-eyed Symenestra is a notorious half-breed, having been sired by a human father and a Symenestra mother. Her involvement in the underground is driven by this heritage in no small regard. After her mother's death from childbirth, it has been her life's work to manufacture a curative off-setting the Symenestra newborn's natural toxin so that it might be extracted safely from the womb.
In passing, she is taciturn but friendly. Alessia is nothing if not professional. Her day to day interactions with patients are usually brief. She excels in surgery but has no real bedside manner. Instead, she delegates that responsibility to her team. In hiring, she favours others of her kind for their innate dexterity. This also serves as a means of keeping tabs on Kalinor's regular Gleanings. She finds it her personal responsibility to aid the Shinya whenever possible as repayment for her acceptance into the community.
When befriended, she is a sharp woman with a droll sense of humor. Being a doctor has afforded her few colleagues, thus she treats them all with special care. Alessia has taken a vow of celibacy due to her heritage, and so remains unmarried.

Yonaton Ayume
Name: Yonaton Ayume
Race: Human
Birthdate: 495 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Aurist and doctor at the Catholicon
Skills: Arcanology - 20, Auristics - 62, Business - 5, Herbalism - 30, Logic - 45, Medicine - 78
Languages: Common (Fluent)
Yonatan grew up to merchant parents, but business was not for him. From a young age, he wanted to help people. He saw that Lhavit was a beautiful city with great people, and he wanted to aid those people and diminish any suffering he could.
He decided to dedicate his life to medicine. Yonaton was already a student at the Dusk Tower learning to use auristics, and upon realizing the applications of the magic in medicine, he increased the intensity of his study in order to learn all he could.
Yonatan volunteered at The Catholicon as well in his spare time, eventually quitting his studies when he felt satisfied and beginning a full-time job. His specialty is in using the medical applications of auristics to diagnose and help patients more quickly. He now works to this day as the main Medical Aurist at The Catholicon, often working more than is strictly required, even at the cost of sleep. This, coupled with his frequent use of djed for auristics, leaves him looking tired all the time, which has given him the nickname "Dr. Sleepy" among some of the younger employees at The Catholicon. It also doesn't help that his name sounds like it has the word "yawn" in it.

Nivaea
Name: Ni'vaea
Race: Kelvic (White wolf)
Birthdate: 515 AV
Birthplace: Mura
Occupation: Healer at the Catholicon
Gnosis: 1 mark of Rak'keli (Healing level 1)
Skills: Auristics - 20, Herbalism - 30, Hunting - 45, Medicine - 42, Philtering - 22, Swimming - 38, Tracking - 35, Unarmed Combat - 48
Languages: Common (Fluent), Kontinese (Fluent)
Tall and slim, Ni'vaea has pale skin, long, white hair, and striking yellow eyes. One could mistake her for a Konti at a glance, if not for the lack of scales and oddly coloured eyes. Opening her mouth, however, reveals long, sharp canines, firmly identifying her as a Kelvic to those who know what to look for. In her wolf form, Ni'vaea keeps her tall and slim physique, with long legs and a thick, pure white coat.
Ni'vaea was born on Mura to a pair of Kelvics, her mother an Ivaski, her father a barn owl. For the first few weeks of her life, due to the tuft of white hair on her head and her icy blue eyes, her parents were sure she was an Ivaski like her mother and thrilled; but when she was old enough to shift for the first time, they realized she was a wolf.
While her parents loved her fiercely regardless, Ni'vaea grew up feeling that disappointment hanging over her head. She never quite felt good enough. Her mother was a member of the Opal Order and bonded to a Konti Healer, and Ni'vaea grew up learning medicine and herbalism from them, finding her passion in it. When she was marked by Rak'keli at a young age, her mother was delighted, but it still didn't fill the hole that Ni'vaea felt.
Unable to stand it any longer, Ni'vaea eventually fled Mura without even bidding her parents goodbye, too ashamed of her decision to leave; to her, it was just something else that marked her as a failure. She traveled around for sometime before ending up in Lhavit; the cool climate and thick forests appealed to the wolf in her, and she found work at the Catholicon doing what she loved.
She's been in Lhavit for about a year now, and has settled in nicely. She can be a little bit cool, aloof, and impatient, which leaves her bedside manner slightly lacking, but Ni'vaea is a kind sort once you get to know her, with a mischievous streak and a dry sense of humour. She's also eager and curious, always wanting to learn more, and all the while she holds out hope to one day find a bondmate who will see past the expectations that were put on her at birth.

Senri Mirron
Name: Senri Mirron
Race: Human
Birthdate: 491 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Doctor's assistant at the Catholicon
Skills: Caretaking - 30, Herbalism - 50, Medicine - 62, Musical Instrument (Fiddle) - 55, Socialization - 45, Storytelling - 32
Languages: Common (Fluent)
Senri is Doctor Alessia's most trusted assistant; competent in his own rights, he is still young, but has been working under Alessia for several years. Born and raised in Lhavit, Senri took an interest in medicine at a young age when his mother fell very ill; she ended up passing away from her illness, which only spurred Senri on in his studies.
Calm and level-headed, Senri is soft-spoken and gentle, with an excellent bedside manner. He is known to check in on his patients more than necessary, and when he has free time, he can often be found sitting with those who are required to stay overnight, either telling them a story or playing them a quiet tune on his fiddle to entertain them.
Alessia has scolded him for this more than once, but doesn't have the heart to genuinely do so; in fact, on occasion when she is tired and has a moment to spare, she will pause outside whatever room Senri is in to listen to him as well.
