The slightest of dreams and Miria woke up to the sounds of her own name slowly getting louder. "Ewah? What's up?" Looking slightly irate Miria moved the puzzle box away from her as if admonishing the older man. "Fit in the chest when your done. You have to place it back where you found it and you can see what's inside." Leaning forward slightly Miria slowly tried to get her bearings or to possibly regain her breathe with the slight exertion.

They were in the maze. For some reason I feel dead tired and my eyes are still heavy. What have I been doing? Why is Ronan here? "Oh that's right." Slowly recalling what happened Miria buried her hands in her face trying to galvanize herself to action. So tiring this djed thing was. It felt odd working with a part of herself to help with her task. Not at all like an arm nor a muscle the whole process of grasping that there was more of her to use then what she had on hand was tiring enough. "Like what you found?"

Though in truth her contribution to today's prize was actually an addition to her hold's prize. It was just a simple affair of an arrow from Miria's everyday life. Though with closer inspection someone who has spent an abundance of time with arrows would notice that it looked similar to the Syliran arrows Ronan had when they first met. Though that in itself was not enough to warrant itself as a prize. Miria knew it did not matter how much time she spent trying to mimic the handiwork the Syliran crafters had. So she added what she thought was a neat piece of Avanthal flair mixed in. Going to Skyglow hold Miria had the arrow decorated with some gilding artwork throughout the arrow shaft.

Waiting to see the decorated arrow Miria herself was curious what an arrow slightly minted with ice stone would look like. Choosing to keep quiet Miria watched Ronan's expression before walking away knowingly. "You ready to go? I do want to retire sometime before the Coolwaters start the day for me." Peeking her head outside Miria looked to the sky for any indicators of which way to go. "I had a curious dream while you solved that. I was flying high up in the sky with another. Was quite a sight." Looking back at Ronan Miria smiled warmly waiting to hold hands with him once more. Back where they left off. "So? Which way?"

oocFine with the thread ending here after your post?

"The sky." Ronan smirked as he listened to Miria explain how the key worked. Curious as to what was inside, Ronan took the puzzle key and moved to the box where it had been on before it had fallen apart. The key fit with a click and the box opened. Ronan was quite anxious to see what was inside. His first reaction was disappointment. An arrow. A single arrow. Without a bow. A single arrow without a bow... What use was that? Ronan reached in the box and grabbed the arrow, pulling it out. It was cold to the touch in different spots but not all over. Which was odd. He brought the arrow closer to his nose, inspecting it. What had been a simple arrow at first turned out to be quite a lot more than that. The arrow was decorated by someone, according to Ronan's knowledge, probably a Skyglow member. He lightly touched the sparkling bits of the arrow and felt the cold hit his fingers. Even with them being half frozen he could feel the cold.

"Is that..." Ronan turned around, the arrow in both hands, still close to his nose as he inspected it. The rest of his question trailed off as he turned the arrow around, observing it from all sides. It looked like the arrow was decorated with ice, small piece of white-blue decorated the shaft of the arrow. "Wow..." The light in the cave reflected slightly on the pieces of ice and sparkled like little diamonds. He got pulled out of his admiring gazing by Miria as she walked away from him, calling out to him. "What? Yes, I'm ready to go. You were the one sleeping just now..." He grumbled after her, a smile on his lips. The arrow disappeared in his cloak, stored away in a pocket somewhere. If he ever made it to a place where they didn't have ice diamonds and where they had rich nobles, Ronan would definitely be able to fetch a fortune for this. He rubbed his hands together as he walked after Miria. Remembering his shuriken, he went to collect the projectiles first, finding them buried in the snow, ricocheted away from the wall. He dusted them off and put them away somewhere in the many pockets and places in his clothes. Then he walked after Miria again.

Following his gaze upwards, Ronan looked as well. Whatever Miria saw up there, to Ronan it was just stars, just dots of light in the sky. Sure, you could find your way with them and everything, but they were still just dots in the sky to Ronan. Nothing beats a good old fashioned map. None of that fancy stargazing for Ronan. Ronan quirked his eyebrow up. "With another? Are you trying to make me jealous, Miria?" A chuckle followed his question as Ronan stepped out of the cave, into the darkness. "Well, I have this neat trick where I always stick to the right. You always end up either back where you started or where you're supposed to end up. Care to try it?" His hand reached through the darkness and into the light, hovering there, his fingers stretched, waiting for Miria to grab his hand. His right hand was probing the darkness, trying to find a wall somewhere to his right.

With Miria's hand in his, he started his little journey through the maze, constantly following his right hand and the wall to his right, sticking to it like glue. He moved carefully, not wanting to bang into anymore walls. As they moved along, it occurred to Ronan that Miria probably knew the way through the maze but he kept quiet about it. Their little trip didn't last very long, perhaps twenty chimes before the darkness made way for torches and light coming from the exit. Ronan had gone in the maze, survived a monster attack, found the giant bonfire in the middle, found a cave, solved the puzzle and opened the treasure and most of that in the company of a beautiful woman. Not bad for a night out. Ronan kept holding Miria's hand, only letting go of it when she did and walked her home. Or rather he attempted to walk her home but had no idea which way to go so really, he just followed Miria. The arrow was safely in his pocket and Ronan was quiet, not a very often seen sight, as he walked with Miria.

Miria Coolwater :
Experience:
  • Stealth +2
  • Auristics +2
  • Observation +2
  • Weapon: Snowball +2

Lores:
  • Finding Your Way through Auristics
  • Sitting on Your Pity Pot
  • A Good Hunter Stays Hidden till the Last Moment
  • Fear of Losing a Friend
  • Headaches Mean I’m Using Auristics Too Much
  • Working with Djed Tires the Mind and Body

Other:
  • Overgiving effects: Because of her current lack of skill in Auristics, her extensive use of the magic left her with a horrible migraine for three days and sore eyes that will last for a minimum of seven days.

Notes:
It’s often situations like these that I don’t recommend roleplaying a skill you are currently just learning in another thread. It creates issues with how much skill points you would have exactly earned from the other thread and how much you would’ve improved now. For your Auristics use, having no points wouldn’t have enabled you to use it like this. Even if you got five points in that other thread, I doubt a newly initiated could use the skill that much without overgiving after just a chime or two after. Much more walk around while doing so. I tell players all the time that I deduct points for overplaying skills. I docked some points because of this.

And just a quick comment about your writing: you seem to have this tendency to quickly change the disposition of your character from post to post, sometimes even from one paragraph to another, while lacking a coherent transition for doing so. Writing like this makes the posts feel jumpy. Your posts feel so rushed lately too, not just the ones here. Again, I think most of the problems are that the transition of thoughts are not good. Why did Miria, who was happy moments ago, felt depressed out of the blue? How did she suddenly know she was the monster Ronan was fibbing about? I’m letting you know this so you can work on this aspect of your writing better. :)

Ronan Dugal :
Experience:
  • Weapon: Shuriken +2
  • Observation +5
  • Storytelling +1
  • Investigation +1

Lores:
  • Lost at the Smoldering Embrace
  • When You’re Lost, Keep Right
  • Knocked Out by a Wall
  • The Monster in the Maze Was… only Miria
  • Solving a Puzzle Box

Other:
  • Inventory: You acquired an ornamental arrow adorned with icestone embellishments.

Notes:
If it would make your PC feel any better, it’s not just the moonlight that is lighting the maze part of the place. The Smoldering Embrace’s paths are actually lit periodically by torches. So next time you drop by the location, feel free to let Ronan curse about how all the torches magically died out when he got trapped there. Also, imagine his consternation when the icestone melts from the arrow as soon as he steps on warmer lands. ;)

Kidding aside, it’s funny seeing Ronan act all scared like this. Very refreshing from all the trader persona he had shown from previous threads. And you used that lore given to you, I’m quite pleased.
