"Oh! He knows me?" Kouri was intrigued by the prospect of the woman sharing a mind with her Father. Kouri blinked her eyes twice, in a still inverted position, and focused onto her eyes. Kouri's crimson eyes stared deeply into the Otani's emerald green. "Helloooooo~ Sir Laviku? Ehm... are you there?" She tried to relay her message to Laviku through Otani like she was some handheld communication device.
The female Otani then asked her a question, but she cut off herself before she finished the question. Eh? What were you going to ask me? Kouri slightly tilted her head to the side in curiosity. Then the Otani's cautious and demanding suddenly shifted to playful as she told Kouri to chase her. "Huh? Chase you? A priz- Hey! WAIT!" Kouri didn't even get to finish her sentence when the Otani formed a makeshift tail, laughed, and darted under the waves.
W-what was that about? What prize? I want a prize! Kouri's child-like mind was very intrigued at the prospect of a reward. "I'll catch you!!" With that determined shout, Kouri dropped down to the ocean, shifted her position upright, and quickly scanned the sea. It was rather easy to spot the obvious flash of light moving at high speed, it must be the Otani. "Ahahahahaha~!" With an excited giggle, Kouri burst blinked to chase the Otani, exerting herself to move as fast as she could. In between the blinks, Kouri 'flew' under the water, locking her direction to the bright glowing spot.
With no water resistance to hold her and no physical obstacle to get in her way, Kouri hoped her speed was enough to catch her and find out what the reward is. Who knows, it might be a meeting session with Laviku himself. |

Uleru flits fluidly between a few different shapes as she powers through the water. But anything 'solid' about her has melted into her natural shape, which could be described as a puddle of manoeuvrable water with indiscriminate, yet convenient, appendages. This is one ability that makes her quite proud of her liquid body; where she can power through stagnant water with a few beats of an seal's tail and then adapt to a pull of heavy current by flattening out and snaking through it like an eel. And this is usually enough to beat even the most proficient swimmers despite the less than refined technique. But this all shrivels in comparison to gliding through it all without any resistance.
And if she had any sense, she would have remembered this before she challenges a ghost to a race.
Despite darting through the water like a glowing, five foot minnow, she is still being shamelessly outpaced by the spectre. The ghost is appearing and disappearing like a fake magician armed with mirrors and an endless supply of stunt doubles, and floating through the ocean in an unnatural way thats unsettling to watch. So if she plans to win the game, she will have to be a bit more elastic with her plans.
The Otani swims low across the ocean bed, searching eagerly for a place to hide. It would taker her a chime to sufficiently change size enough to fit into the tiny spaces between the coral and crevices, and a chime is exactly what she doesn't have with the ethereal little girl hot on her metaphoric heels. But a shape looms in the dark waters that she recognizes instantly, and she give an internal whoop of glee. The finger of rock protruding from the waves would be a good place to hide. Or, more pointedly, it would be a good place to sit and cower as a ghost hunts for her. Game or not, it is rather disconcerting when you know what's chasing you, and you know its not exactly one the most friendly and hinged creatures in the world.
The large sprawl of stone in mostly submerged by the high tide, so its easy to swim just below the surface and slip into the narrow crevice that serves as the cave mouth. Inside, a host of unique shallow sea life flourishes in the darkness, may of them throwing their own phosphorescence into the gloom. In the back corner, high on one of the few dry ledges, sits the chest that holds all of Uleru's worldly possessions. This has been her hiding spot for both her possessions and herself since she arrived in Syliras waters five years ago. It has its uses.
Hiding place found, she attempts to pull herself into the shape of the glowing sea anemone grouped under the waterline before the ghost finds her way in. |

!? Kouri cocked her eyebrow at the strange fast-moving blob of water in front of her. Moments ago, this 'blob' was the very same female-shaped water she was talking to. "Huh????" She couldn't keep her confused gasp. The glowing blob could grew all sorts of appendages and made them disappear just as easily to be replaced with another appendage.
She was really, really fast, but Kouri would not give up! She wanted the prize. She didn't know what it is, but it must be something good. Not everyday one could be offered a prize by a sentient transforming female-shaped water. "Eiiiiiii!!" She exerted herself, phasing through a swarm of fish, a large fish, and an even larger fish. Kouri didn't have time to examine each sea creature she phased, she just knew that they were some kind of... well, fish.
Kouri was catching up, she didn't know why, but she almost caught up with the glowing transforming blob. Perhaps it was because of her ghostly abilities to practically eliminate obstacle factors and create straight line shortcuts. "Gotc- GAH!!" She extended her tendril to catch the blob, but a big fish swam between Kouri and her target, causing her tendril to bump the fish instead. The fish gave no reaction at all, its blank unamused face unchanged as it kept swimming forward.
"Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!! Fiiiiiiish!! You... you swiiiiine!!" Kouri puffed up her cheeks and pouted while spouting words to insult the fish. Calling a sea creature a swine was rather... weird and ineffective insult, but Kouri couldn't think of any other alternatives at that time. The fish, being a fish, of course didn't understand at all and kept swimming slowly forward.
When the fish passed... her target was gone. Gone! "W-where? Wheeeere? AAAAAAAAGH!!!!" Kouri screamed in frustration, her banshee-like wail echoed in the waters, causing smaller fishes to scram away from the location. She looked all around for the bright glowing blob, but she couldn't find her. The few lights she found were too small to be her target. "Gaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!" She blinked all around the area in frustration. It's if the blob had vanished, but it couldn't do that, right? Perhaps the blob had an ability similar to ghosts like her that Kouri didn't have knowledge of.
After three chimes of blinking around, Kouri felt tired, she slowly floated down to the sea floor and sat on a coral. Auuu... now I can never get the prize... Kouri hugged her knees and curled into a ball. To complete her miserable state, her hair ribbons magically disappeared to let her very long ethereal white hair spread out then it slowly moved and wrapped around herself, covering her whole body with an ethereal white blanket made out of hair. Now Kouri literally looked like a large white hair ball. "Uhuk... uuuu..." Though with sobbing and whimpering sounds emitting from it. |

Uleru is still trying to fold herself into a smaller shape when an ear piercing shriek cuts through the black water, scaring away a cloud of silver fish. Apparently, ghosts can get frustrated too.
Uleru has to fight the split second impulse to flee with the rest of Laviku's beasts. But no! This girl is not dangerous, she is a friend. So buck up and go see if she is alright, she tells herself.
She takes a quick peek out of the little fissure to look for the little girl, and is taken quite by surprise when she is met with the sight of a floating globe where the little girl used to be. Well, the Otani cant be the only mouldings in the world. Maybe ghosts have a strange ability she isn't aware of.
She approaches the sobbing ball with very little idea of what to do next. She makes as to prod the orb as it get its attention, but only receives an uncomfortable shock of cold as her hand reaches straight into her body as if it isn't there. Which it isn't, really. She mentally kicks herself.
"There there", Uleru coos awkwardly, patting the water a few inches above where she figures the ghost girls head is. "How about you choose the next game."

OOCIt's okay, Uleru. And since Spring season is coming to and end, I think we may finish the thread. Your reply to this post should be the final one then I will post it for grading.
But of course! If you wish to continue, we can do so!
"*Sob* Uuun..." Hearing the familiar female voice, a part of the hair ball opened up and Kouri's head emerged from it. Her face brimming with bloody tears and pouting, with her cheeks puffed up. "Uuu... meanie..." Her childish pride was hurt and it's all because of that swi-...fish.
Hearing the watery woman's comforting words comforted her, but she kept her pouting exterior; unable to accept her defeat. In times like this, Kouri really acted like a normal little girl. "Uhm... I-it's okay..." She heaved a sigh and rested her head on her own puff of hair, she half-closed her eyes and gazed at the woman.
"It's okay... I just... want to stay here with you, oh yeah... what's your name, Madame? I'm Fubuki Kouri, but you can just call me Kouri~ Ehehe~" She giggled, her voice was noticeably tired; she exerted her Soulmist from blinking too much. "I'm uuh... I want to..." Kouri couldn't keep her eyes open for long, but she wanted to know what is her name before she rest for the night. |

"Ko-u-ri", the Otani rolls the name around on her tongue like a sample of wine. "Pretty name", she declares cheerfully. "My name is Uleru."
The ghost is definitely an unusual sight now, her globe of hair cracked open like a pea and dark tears staining her cheeks. But underneath that she still looks so... well, childish. With her cupids-bow pout and puffy cheeks, a universal look from girls the world over. Used as a devastating arsenal to break the hearts of fathers everywhere.
Her eyes are also heavy with fatigue, and its no wonder, blinking as much as she did. Her head nestles into the pillowy shoulder of her dress.
"Its ok, take a rest. I'll be right here when you get up, yes? Then you can beat me at another race." The moulding sticks out her tongue and blows a cheeky raspberry for the girl, who gives a ghostly giggle. But the exertion proves to be too much and she is soon resting with her head tucked over her arm. Uleru checks to make sure the ghost is well and truly at rest before floating down to a sandy ledge below the girl in order to settle for the night as well.
