Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

Defender Of Riverfall (N'ivae)

Postby N'ivae on April 18th, 2013, 12:17 am

N'ivae

The day had started out peacefully, with a slight breeze ruffling at her silver hair and her horse, Aleah, whining playfully. N'ivae sat outside her tent in a sea of green, legs crossed and shoulders relaxed as she breathed in slowly. Eyes closed, she took in the smell around her, the soft sounds, and tried to focus on not focusing, as impossible as it may sound. The young Konti knew that she needed to start meditating, as she felt she was losing her sight.

With another wave of wind, she inhaled slowly once more, then exhaled, as if a great weight had been lifted off her tiny shoulders. The scaled woman blinked, her eyes roaming the immediate area, before she picked herself up off the ground and over to her Gilding. She gave her a pat, then straightened her clothes and brushed a pale hand through her hair.

It wasn't a secret that the young woman still didn't know her way through town very well, and that she still wasn't quite savvy about getting around. But, it still excited her to explore the city, as big and beautiful as it was. So, quite frequently, she found herself being drawn to the city of the Akalak, and not just to stare at the men. But Riverfall had charmed her once again, with its beautiful architecture and the people's chatter. She couldn't wait to be a true part of it, but as of that day, she was still just a visitor.

N'ivae's brown boots made their way over the cobbled streets at a slower pace than normal, as she took herself around the city. It wasn't as if she was looking at anything; it was more just exploring around. Sight-seeing, you could say. The city calmed her, with the smell of seawater and the slight breeze that shook the air. But soon, she grew tired of the endless stroll that she was taking, and headed back towards the outside of the walls. She has almost made it when....

Her thin, pale arm was suddenly grabbed, and she spun around on her heels from the force. There stood a male, a grin on his face, his fingers still digging into the fragile skin of her forearm. Greasy hair, hunched shoulders, and eyes that made her glance away; he seemed to be just the average human man. However, when he opened his mouth, N'ivae knew there would be some sort of trouble.

"You don't see too many a' your kind 'round here nowadays. Konti, eh? Pretty, too. Bet'chur lookin' for a husband, huh?" His common was slang-filled, and it made her cringe. The look on his face told her that he wanted something for her, and by his words, she figured she knew exactly what it was.

"I'm sorry," she murmured, looking at the cobbled stones beneath her feet. "I have to go. I'm late." Ripping her arm away from him, she clambered away, her pace quicker now. But he followed, giving out threats like they were a full deck of cards he could just keep throwing down. Vile, perverted threats she didn't want to be able to hear, but she kept walking, her footsteps quickening to the point of her almost running, but he followed. All she had to do was make it outside the gates, right? He would stop then, right?

Oh Avalis, she thought. Watch over me.

OOCI really hope that was okay, as it was kind of longer than I expected. And I hope that I played that off well enough?
