Timestamp: 74th of Spring 513
It was twilight in the Silkwater Lake on the 74th of Spring. The forest was alive with chatter, insects and animals alike were awakening and hurrying out as the day turned to dusk. There was something special, serene about the coniferous forest, and with the isolated mountain lake resting in the middle, the place seemed almost magical. It was a long hike to reach the desired destination, but there was something that she wanted to investigate.
There were rumors about a powerful witch that lived in the mountains. Not much was known about her, or even if it were a she at all. Kyra wondered if it was true, she had heard stories when she was little about witches in the forest. In fact, she had even met one not a full season ago. However it was unlikely that the two were the same and Kyra wanted to meet this one as well. So far there had been no sighting, a rabbit here and there, birds chirping in trees but nothing more.
The young kelvic settled in by the lake, legs crossed beneath the gown that she wore. She placed her weapons off to her left and rested her hands in her lap. Closing her eyes, Kyra quieted her thoughts and allowed herself to feel the forest through her senses. She felt at home in the forest, and although she had roamed through more than one, there was still a calming to it all. Kyra sat silently in her meditative state for a while before a smell in the near by area wafted into her nose.
She opened her eyes, slowly raising to her feet and collected her bow and katana from the ground where she had laid them. Instead of standing straight up, she crouched almost and sniffed the air again. There was a dear close by, she could smell it easily. Kyra pulled an arrow from her quiver and lightly stepped across the ground in search of the creature.
It only took her a few chimes to track it down, there was no use in checking the ground for tracks, or seeing if bushes and tress had been disturbed as humans did, she could simply follow her nose. Soon, she found the dear gracing on the plants on the edge of a grassy plain. The night was quiet and she slipped out of her boots to muffle the sound as she slowly moved closer.
The kelvic notched the arrow into her bow and waited for the perfect shot. For the moment, the angle was off and her shot could be tore off by the trees close to the animal. Instead of getting closer, she shifted herself further into the opening while trying to keep herself hidden amongst the tall grass. Once she had a good spot, Kyra breathed in deeply, calming herself and raised her bow. With her mind focused, she released the flow of djed from within her body and directed it into her eyes, and mouth.
Ready to give it another try, Kyra attempted to make the bugling sound that deer were known to make, when they called to each other. It was spring and the season to mate was upon them, Kyra felt this as well. She made the sound a second time, getting the attention of the animal. It didn't move much, but just enough that she could possibly get a clean shot.
"Shuss...there is no danger. Come out....and come to me..."
