The Bowstrings Sing [Flashback Solo]

TIMESTAMP: 92nd of Winter, 512. Early in the morning,

Xarei stood calmly, like a statue in a courtyard people stopped to look. She stared down-range at a target she set up by her clans longhouse, Her composite bow was perched up against her side, itching on her leg, begging to be strung and shot.. Xarei obeyed her weapons desire, grasping it in hand then crouching down to string it. Laying it across her lap, then tying the string onto both ends before standing up. Before anything of course, she must inspect her bow for any signs of weakness or faults, and to insure the string was tied properly, Everything was fine, including the wind which seemed to calm just for this moment, to allow her a easy bullseye. She stared down at the dummy, if this was a real enemy he would take his shield and bring it to his face instead of letting it lazily cover his waist, The Dummy was 105 Yards away. She shifted her weight over to her left leg and turned for her left side to face the target, drawing a arrow and putting it in its place then lifting the bow to fire, she Pulled the arrow back against the string, taking a long deep breath to suck in her gut and narrow her vision, She felt the feather of the arrow brush up against her cheek. She stood tall, and proud, her hands weren't shaking, the world blacked out and the only thing she saw was her bow, arrow, and the target. This is when she would fire, when all she could see was straight down-range at her target. She released and relaxed, the arrow flew and the bowstring flung creating a familiar and beautiful Note. Distracted for a moment as her bowstring sung with vibrations, before gaining focus at her target, she moved over to the side to gain a better angle to see where her arrow struck, just under the neck and just above the chest. A good spot, If it were a live person wearing Light or Medium armor they would drop, and die within five seconds. She drew another arrow, and continued to fire. One Arrow, then Two, All made good marks, One in the eye, and another in the armpit of the dummies raised arm and weapon, Which, from she learned, held a artery and the person would die soon enough of blood loss. Now she had to work on her quick fire, This was more popular against a couple of charging opponents. She quickly jogged over to the target to reclaim the Three arrows Before retreating to her firing position. She drew one arrow quickly pulled it back and fired with a short amount of time to aim, It was a wild arrow and struck into the chest. Too far away however for the heart to do major damage, a Healer could patch him up if in a real battle. The second shot imbedded itself in the neck, Straight through the adams apple, if it was a man, and real. A more perfect shot, the third one found its way into his shield, the fourth into the belly, somewhere around his Kidney, Liver, Appendix, Stomach, she wasn't sure about human anatomy. But she knew about quite a bit of organs, by name and overall location in the body. If it didn't hit one of those four, it would of dropped a lung, at least, she hoped. The Forth Wen't into the dummies arm, and the last right between the eyes. She was getting better at her Quick-Shooting, but never really thought she would use it, Afterall, she was more of a hunter than anything. Stalking prey, using her method of choice, a long and paitent draw and shot. Regardless, now that her plans to leave to Cyphrus is in motion she might face formidable opponents, she wen't and relcaimed her arrows... They were now splintered and the three were over-used, She wen't inside her home, after a brief inspection she found what she was looking for, Arrow Shafts. The heads were fine, it was the shafts that were damaged. Removing the Arrowheads and discarding the old shafts, Tying the arrowheads around the new shafts with a small, but strong. Twine. Tie them three times to insure they are strongly held... A basic lesson in fletching, to tie a arrowhead to a shaft. She tapped each arrow against the wall, each sturdy and well-placed. Later in the day she would leave to Falyndars shores, then into the boat. And cross the gap to Cyphrus, she gathered her arrows, and checked her essentials and equipment to make sure nothing was missing... Soon, She would leave.
