Alright...so I have a question.
I was building my inn when I realized I couldn't use it as a feasible business. An innkeeper (and shopkeep for that matter) starts at a base pay of 4 gm. Given that we all should have the competent sales bonus, that pushes it to 6 gm. In a 91 day season, that equates 546 gm.
All nobility in Kenash must maintain a good standard of living, priced at 450 gm. That leaves only 96 gm to do anything with...which would include paying off loans, buying anything, etc...and for businesses that require slaves, 96 gm can't afford to keep them in anything but poor living conditions, and that's just one. I was told that poor living conditions for a slave wouldn't pass for a professional helper.
So...would it actually be inadvisable to have a shop if you also needed to hire help? Those shopkeepers that can manage alone still have 96 gm after living expenses to save or pay out...but a slave or employee totally destroys their ability to survive as a dynasty member.
If my math is totally off then let me know...I was just juggling some figures (and math is totally not a strong point of mine) and wondered if there was any way around it.
Otherwise actually building a bar would be foolish...I can't hire anyone at all and make any money XD...or even own a slave
Also, this is just for my business venture and trying to make sure I have one figured out before deadline...but I thought I'd put it out there for other shop owners to check their side as well.
Banickle, Gossamer, I can't remember if this was established...what's Kenash's stance on magic used beneficially...like Spiritism for vengeful slave ghosts or Voiding for waste disposal and whatnot?
This PC has the Blight gnosis. As such, you as a player need to be aware of what that consists of. Wrenmae has an invisible aura that amplifies sickness and disease. Wounds may become infected, small sneezes may become coughing, and a slight fever may become more serious. A nuit's body will also break down faster in the presence of the Blight. These effects may not be immediate, but within the few days following your encounter, the symptoms will manifest. Some sooner than others. I cannot control your character, so creativity will be left up to you. Best wishes and stay healthy!
