AppearanceRace:Human, Svefra
Gender:Male
Age:23
Birthday:49, Winter, 489.
Birthplace:Southern Suvan Sea
Appearance:As a Svefra, and a fighter, Rhyse has many scars on his body yet he has yet to receive one on his neck of head. Rhyse has blonde hair and blue eyes that seem to shine a deep sea blue. Unlike most Svefra Rhyse doesn't carry around a ton of jewelry everywhere he goes and just has normal clothing with a Cutlass strapped to his belt. Though he prefers to be clean shaven Rhyse has been known to let his facial hair grow out. Even though Rhyse looks so plain it is very much his plan to try to look as normal as possible in the hopes that his enemies mistake him for an unskilled peasant, which gives him the advantage in any future fights he inadvertently gets himself into.
Character ConceptThe impression anyone who meets Rhyse the first time will have is an upbeat person who is sort of lazy when not training with his weapon or plundering another ship for its riches. This does not mean that Rhyse is never really serious; it just means that he's got more of an open mind when it comes to deciding the fate of others. Generally if something isn't needed to be done in an instant, Rhyse will take his time in completing his task. Sometimes, without even realizing it, Rhyse will make a joke in light of a very serious matter in the hopes of bringing up everyone’s spirit.
Though when Rhyse plunders and attacks ships of all kinds he throws away all he playfulness and assumes the role of a great leader with an iron will. The one thing that Rhyse will never accept is defeat due to his belief that defeat makes you weak and only serves to remind you that you are not the best swordsman, or sailor in the world. Though with his change of attitude, Rhyse takes criticism with a glee that could only be comparable to a child playing with his favorite toy; Rhyse loves when others point out his flaws, he believes it to be a way to correct the flaws in his epic journey to perfection in his great art, death and destruction to those that call him foe.
Character HistoryPre-CreationThrough many years of being a member of the Icewave pod and yet having only a minor blood relation to any member of the pod, Rhyse did seem to gain favor after proving himself a capable sailor and fighter. Though he had not really done any notable acts that would put him on par with some of the more able fighters in the Icewave pod, he still proves himself by giving everything he has and more and tends to beat the odds with more luck than skill. Even with his competent skill in handling his cutlass he still prefers to use the longer range of the harpoon gun that is mounted right in front of the bow of the ship.
Throughout most of his childhood, Rhyse has been as strong a supporter of a god named Laviku, such a merciful god. Though he is not the strongest of supporters of this god he still tends to find the time to pray every day for his continued survival. With all his prayers, Rhyse still believes that a good sailor is key to survival in such a harsh life that a pirate may find. In any times of need, and a great need it must be, Rhyse would answer the call for help from any Svefra but it is doubtful that he would go to any great trouble, such as battling a foe that is much greater than him. Though he tends to favor Laviku more than any other god in knowledge to him he still praises the gods Leth and Zulrav.
In the middle of his life when he had just turned sixteen he met a great blue whale that would soon become one of Rhyse’s greatest Tavan. Through the many years that he knew this Tavan, that he would eventually name Tye, Rhyse grew a close bond to the Tavan in ways that he had hardly thought possible. Though the great blue whale Tye couldn’t stay with Rhyse for an extended period of time due to its need to feed a great deal during the days, He still fined the time to visit Rhyse whenever Rhyse is far enough from land for the Blue whale to accompany him. Even with only one Tavan such as Tye, Rhyse still stays as strong as he is by believing in himself, his skills as a sailor, and his god Laviku who grants him the ability to drink sea water.

Gnosis
Gnosis | Notes |
Oceanus MK1 | Marked individuals can first and foremost spot Otani readily. Otani will recognize them and often seek them out to play and communicate. Individuals with one Laviku mark can also drink salt water and have the mark automatically convert it to fresh water for ocean survival. Individuals know the direction of the sea if they are on land and how far away it is (in aprox miles). They also immediately recognize where progression tide is, meaning if it is incoming or outgoing or in transition between. |
