History Overview
Born in Sunberth, a city well known for its danger, Oleander learnt defend himself using his wits before setting off to the city named Syliras for a safer future. Oleander moved from Sunberth to Syliras at age 13.
Life in Sunberth for Oleander wasn’t very pleasant, constant beatings for other kids, some who are older than him as well, and occasional threats from strangers made Oleander felt small and hopeless. In the past, when he was 9 years old, Oleander would try and overpower the attackers in combat. However, Oleander’s muscles weren’t strong and his punches do no harm whatsoever. With his only know defence, at the time, useless and caused his problems to worsen, Oleander choose the best option he had at his disposable… run and hide. Run and hide into the shadows, run and hide in small spaces, run and hide anywhere possible. If they can’t catch or see you, they can’t harm you. He spent about a year hiding in fear.
During Oleander's hiding period, he has developed a few skills out of his lonesome. One of his many self-developed skills is using all of his senses to notice minor details, from spotting narrow gaps for him to hide in, to what a person was doing during the 12th bell. From this skill, Oleander began his first advancement to his own self-defence. Oleander became a bit more cunning when choosing his hiding places, choosing places closer to the people he was hiding from to begin with. He recorded as much information he could about the person as they spoke, revealing secrets that they are only willing to tell you certain people, such as close friends. Oleander would then filter the information and organise it for future uses.
Growing up in Sunberth, Oleander wasn’t exactly a saint. Picking locks and stealing is something he had pickup over the course of time. This was yet another skill that further advanced his own fighting style. As he broke into his perpetrator’s home, he would steal anything he could get, not items but information. Anything embarrassing, shameful or even taboo broken, Oleander would take that information and store it. While oleander was in their house, he began to unitize his special combat techniques. Oleander, planted certain things from certain people in their homes, things that they wished they haven’t known, things that can destroy a person’s relation with another. When Oleander had finished his ‘assault’, all he had to do is just sit back and enjoy the show. Oleander was completely out of harm’s way as his enemies fought against themselves.
However, like most things, this didn’t last for ever. When Oleander was 13 years old, his enemies began forgiving one another and found out that Oleander was behind their misadventure. Angered, that wanted to take revenge upon him. However, this time it was very serious. It wasn’t a simple beating, hey literally wanted to kill him for wasting their time fighting one another. Oleander's parent caught wind of the situation from a nervous Oleander and left Sunberth for a safer city, Syliras. The journey took them a while due to the sudden rush, but they got there in the end. However, unfortunately for Oleander, he had to live in city alone with only the shirt on his back and a reasonable size bag of mizas. His parents weren’t able to live with him because of the living expenses to much for them to handle. His parents had to move on to a cheaper place to live, so they could give Oleander a better lifestyle. Oleander is grateful to their sacrifice, and grew wiser from it. In the future, he wants to pay back his parents for their noble action.
During Oleander's life in Syliras, He found an apartment, food and a ‘job’. Oleander wasn’t sure what to call his job, but he’ll sometimes refer to it as ‘a helping hand’. His job was basically made out of people desperation for action or information, actions or information that the knights are unable to give. Over the course of his life in Syliras, he has man a few connects and formed small groups to take on a few tasks and assignments. However, some people feel uneasy able taking orders from a child. Despite his age however, Oleander grew quite mature and intelligent from his life of harassment.
