Xio Alcetar Appearance Full Name: Shiyolash al-Shadar ben Jeroab (Shiyolash of the Tents of Shadar of the sons of Jeroab the Just; Xio Alcetar is an abbreviation he adopted to make it simpler for non-Benshira) Race: Benshira Gender: Male Age: 21 Birthday: Fall, Day 34, Year 491 Birthplace: Benshiran tent city Appearance: My sandy hair falls messily past the stubble on my chin. My eyes are a friendly sky blue, unclouded by age or exhaustion. My body is well-muscled from travel and exertion, but my skin is relatively light and untanned, as I prefer to stay inside and read when possible. I wear a durable, weathered leather vest over a light collared shirt, simple, sturdy pants, and unembellished suede moccasins. My sturdy leather gloves reach to my elbows. Character Concept Xio is friendly, curious, and outgoing. He wishes to learn and record all he can, although he is particularly interested in magic and legend. He makes friends easily, but is capable of traveling long stretches without any company or conversation. He likes to cook his own simple meals and considers fine spices a great luxury, although he uses them only in small doses. He keeps exhaustive journals, and is always hunting for durable blank books, as well as safe places to store caches of books. Money runs through his fingers, especially in bookstores. He does not like to kill, but will if there is no other option. He tends to be absentminded and forgetful, and will often overestimate his own knowledge and capabilities, but easily admits his mistakes. Xio's has come to the Spires to research a set of magical shuriken told of in legend. They can be used as standard thrown weapons, but their true powers are unlocked by chanting verses as the stars are thrown. There are thirteen; twelve standard stars and a "master star", Polaris. Each star has a hole at the center which is outlined by a ring of colored gemstone or metal; Polaris' ring is diamond. Character History Born a nomad, Xio has always longed to know what lay beyond the endless sands. As a boy, he heard legends of a powerful set of magic throwing stars, and began to record them in a journal. He has always been fascinated by books; the older and more obscure, the better. At the age of 18, he left his Tent to travel the world on his own. He roamed for several years, sometimes alone, sometimes with a steely, temperamental woman named Cetaine Verlif. He has just arrived in Zeltiva, and hopes to put down some roots and begin studying magic in earnest.
