Aoren conjured a bit of Res and willed the outer layers of it to swirl into a wind strong enough to levitate the torch. He devoted a portion of his thoughts to maintaining the steady stream of Djed needed to sustain the magic. With all of the meditation he'd been doing lately and the practice he'd been doing with his reimancy there wasn't much effort needed to conjure up a bit of wind to follow him around. He deposited the torch in the center of the cyclone. The flames flickered wildly and Aoren frowned. He willed the winds to lower just a bit. That caused the torch to drop in elevation but it was enough to keep the flames from whipping about mindlessly.
Aoren had spent a great deal of time perfecting this technique. The days he would spend in the woods practicing his magical arts he would study the effects that the wind had on the environment. He had found that at the center of a cyclone, be it wild or magical there existed a weightless space that could be used to carry objects and if large enough even people for a period of time. Of course the effect in the wild wasn't indefinite but once he'd gotten the hang of it he could make the perpetual vacuum of centrifugal force maintain the elevation of the object placed within the center of the air pocket.
He was surprised when Fubuki grabbed his hand but he smiled nonetheless.
"Alright, Ms. Fubuki, lets go on an adventure and I promise not to get lost if you don't." He tilted his head and winked at her. Aoren adjusted his grip on his staff and as they set out down into the cave he thought quietly to himself.
"I wonder what it will be like...befriending a ghost?" He glanced at Fubuki as she spoke about the people she knew and the life she had lead in the Bronze Wood. It seemed she did have a genuinely good spark. There would only be one way to answer that silent question.
"If you ever find yourself in Syliras you should come visit me." With that, the two of them set out on their little endeavor.
The odd pair. The Ghost and the Explorer.
