Stretching northward along the coastline of the Suvan Sea, the Cobalt Mountains are the home of the Bronze Wood, numerous ruins, and creatures both strange and fantastical.

What an unusual girl, Xiulachu had heard small tales about ghosts yet he had never actually encountered one; an unusual and absolutely unique night that was completed only by another girl that seemed to be friends with the obviously bipolar ghost girl. The many eyes of the seemingly flash mob of people that had heard the call of the man who had seen the ghost girl only moments before she had somehow disappeared seemed to dwindle as they realized that the real threat to the family in the carriage was gone.
By the time everyone had gone away Xiulachu felt it safe to lower his dagger and place it in his sheath, too many eyes around and some would take his stance as a challenge. By the end of the commotion there stood only the ghost friend and Xiulachu, though the tension was still quite high.
"Ptff...petching people."
Xiulachus superior hearing allowed him to pick up the lightly said comment though he knew that the comment wasn’t directed at him by the way the girl was turned towards the people who had just left the scene. Xiulachu didn’t need his super hearing for the next comment that the girl made. Akilia, what an interesting name Xiulachu thought to himself. packs weigh you down in a fight and can get in the way. Xiulachu wound that this conversation would likely end up in a fight.

OOCI'm just playing the initial merchant who spotted Kouri
The merchants started to disperse one after another, seeing that the source of commotion was gone. Only the merchant that spotted Kouri and called for help stayed put. He then approached both Akilia and Xiulachu. "Huff... Sir and Miss, are you alright? Petching phantom... always a disturbance. Too bad we ain't got Spiritist with us, if so, we could catch and exorcist it or something..." The merchant spoke with disdain and saw Kouri as a pest that must be slayed.
He then looked around, confirming that the ghost was indeed gone. After making sure it was safe, he turned his attention back at Akilia and Xiu. "I haven't seen you both around here, are you passengers coming with our caravan? Then, I assume you're both heading to Syliras" He extended his right and ruffled Akilia's hair "Such a brave girl, you are. Some men would piss themselves seeing a phantom..." |

Surprisingly a merchant had stayed behind. Akilia raised her eyebrows at the man, half expecting Kouri to come back and scare him off.
"Huff... Sir and Miss, are you alright? Petching phantom... always a disturbance. Too bad we ain't got Spiritist with us, if so, we could catch and exorcist it or something..." The man spoke.
Akilia's mouth twisted into a scowl. "I'm fine." She snapped annoyed with the man's threat to her friend. She didn't really know what a Spiritist and exorcist were but she guessed by his tone that her ghost friend wouldn't like it. "Good thing you don't." She spat, "Kou- er...the ghost didn't even hurt anyone! Why would you um..." She paused trying to remember what he said earlier. "...want to Spiritist and exorcist her- I mean, it?"
"I haven't seen you both around here, are you passengers coming with our caravan? Then, I assume you're both heading to Syliras" He extended his right and ruffled Akilia's hair "Such a brave girl, you are. Some men would piss themselves seeing a phantom..."
She wanted to claw the merchants face off, the petching fool. He was getting on her nerves, the only thing that stopped her from doing so was the presence of Xiulachu. She turned her head towards him watching him uncertainly, moments ago before the merchant came about yelling up a storm because of Kouri, they had seemingly been on the brink of a fight. Would Xiulachu attack if I went after the merchant? She wondered, the thought of fighting two people and possibly the entire caravan made her rash thinking float away. Survival first fights later, unlike Kouri you can die. "Well I was heading there but after seeing that ghost..." She did a fake frightened shudder, "Its too dangerous to stay here. I think I'll be better off on my own, but thank you for your concern. And wish me luck!" Akilia simpered, giving Xiulachu a brief look of warning as if trying to say: don't follow me.
Then she dashed off, running out of the camp as fast as she could passing some curious faces and making it to the safety of the woods. "Note to self...avoid stupid caravans, they try to kill your friends." She muttered sarcastically, giggling at her own joke and leaned her back against a tree trying to catch her breathe. Then she slid down into a sitting position, she wasn't yet at Kouri's tree yet and had a little ways to go. But instead of getting up and moving she sat there curious if Xiulachu would ignore her warning and follow anyway. Why would a man follow the orders of a girl in the first place? |

The merchant that stayed behind after the incident with the phantom girl was complete obviously didn’t know that the woman who he was talking to about the incident with the phantom girl was actually quite friendly with the phantom. Xiulachu could tell that the woman named Akilia was becoming annoyed by the merchant which prompted Xiulachu to rest his left hand on the dagger that he had replaced into its sheath at his waist.
Xiulachu had no reason to interrupt the conversation between the girl, Akilia, and the merchant who should never have stayed behind to converse with those he thought were friendly, Though Xiulachu had no doubt that Akilia would have been a bit more hostile to the merchant if Xiulachu had not been standing in their presence. Xiulachu had been afraid of the phantom girl before only due to not knowing exactly what it was that was threatening him; he’ll not make the same mistake next time. Though he was not intending to eavesdrop on the conversation that was on the edges to becoming hostile, Xiulachu still heard most of what he actually found amusing and quite revealing. The girl named Akilia not only knew the phantom girl; she was quite fond of the phantom girl. She not only knows the phantom well enough to know her name, she knows her well enough to fight on behalf of her when those that were not even around her talked about her as a monstrosity. Xiulachu thought as he listened in on the conversation again.
"Well I was heading there but after seeing that ghost..." …. Xiulachu heard her say, which actually amused Xiulachu enough to smile at the fact that she was good at lieing to those that couldn’t pick up on her lies.
"Its too dangerous to stay here. I think I'll be better off on my own, but thank you for your concern. And wish me luck!" The look that she gave Xiulachu after saying her goodbyes to the merchant left Xiulachu feeling as though he had unfinished business that needed to be taken care of.
As quickly as he had taken off his pack, Xiulachu replaced his pack on his back before walking off in the direction that the girl, Akilia, had taken. Xiulachu heard the merchant call for him as though he intended to talk with him but due to the phantom and this mysterious girl who had obviously been quite friendly with the phantom, enough so that Akilia would defend the phantom from the insults of some merchant.
Xiulachus enhanced hearing picked up what sounded like a girls voice in the distance which was surprising due to the fact that Xiulachu had only just exited from the caravan moments before hearing the voice. The voice wasn’t that far away which only tempted Xiulachus curiosity, into what had just happened, even more. As quick as he could, Xiulachu ran off in the direction he had heard the voice but he really didn’t need to run due to the scene he came upon just a few moments after running out of the camp. The girl name Akilia was sitting against a tree just inside the tree line that let out to the caravan. What luck, she didn’t run off. Though why is she waiting for me here. The questions that came to Xiulachu outnumbered the answers he had already gathered and left him wondering why. Xiulachu stood only a few meters in front of Akilia and just stood there leering at Akilia with eyes that could spot a field mouse a hundred yards away easily.

"Your good at tracking." Akilia commented as soon as Xiulachu appeared. She pushed herself to her feet, then leaned her back against the rough bark behind her. Eyes wearily watched Xiulachu as a finger twisted and twirled a piece of her dark hair. "You followed me. Why?" Akilia asked pointedly, "Did you get tired of that merchant running his mouth or are you curious to why I'm out here? It isn't common why such a young girl is out here is it?" She walked forward towards Xiulachu then turned the other way walking deeper into the woods towards her previous destination Kouri's tree. She did so slowly taking her time as she talked a little louder now so Xiulachu could still her her clearly.
"Well, I'll tell you a secret...I'm not common." Turning around and still walking back she did a mock salute to the man figuring him for a knight or some type of military guy, the she dashed off once more, really putting on speed.
"Catch me if you can!" She cried merrily over her shoulder. She dug her boots into the soft dirt beneath her, little arms pumping hard at her side. She dodged trees, leaped over bushes, finally skidding to a halt at Kouri's tree. "Haha!" She laughed exilierated, "I left him in the dust!" Or so she thought. She looked around expectantly then called, "Hey Kouri! Kouri! I came! Ditched all those nosy merchants! Can you believe it? One actually tried to discuss killing you with me! The nerve, right?" |

Grrrr... that woman... I'll kill her... no... I'll butcher her daughter first and then kill her... Kouri's ghostly form was buried under the ground, biting her thumbs with her teeth and gritted it. Extreme jealousy mixed with anger plagued her mind, she wanted to wring the neck of the those petching mother and daughter. She hugged her knees and was about to scream when a familiar young female voice resounded in her ethereal eardrums.
It was Akilia... her voice sounded tired, like she had been running or something... and she told her about the merchant discussing about killing herself with Akilia. The nerve of some humans...
"Ehehehe... hahahaha! Did he now... did he... now..." The familar high-pitched giggle echoed in the clearing Akilia was in, the clearing just next to the tall tree where Kouri made her home. Kouri's form rose from the ground in the middle of the clearing, her back facing Akilia. She then slowly turned around to face her Kelvic friend, her very long ethereal hair billowed and gleaming in the moonlight. Her snake-like pupils glowed dangerously crimson, angered at that merchant who had the guts to talk about killing her; with her friend nonetheless.
"Ehehehehehahahaha! Akilia... Akilia... Akilia... why don't you just kill him on the spot? Why... don't you?" She floated closer to the Kelvic, materialized herself, and touched their forehead together. Her current state of mind wasn't quite... right, as the result of jealousy, envy, depression, and anger mixed into one. "Ehehehehe~ Why do you sound tired? Did the merchants chased you here? You know... we could kill them all.. It will be fun, yeeeesss?!" |

The necessity to answer the questions that assaulted Xiulachu at every turn during this most unusually night was the only objective that kept Xiulachu following this girl who was more akin to the forest than to a city. Xiulachu had a pretty good idea why he was following her though he would wait and see before he spoke to her, her body language and speech were giving Xiulachu answers to the questions that he’s been wondering ever since he first saw the girl. Though he was not too thrilled about the specifics of the conversation that Akilia and the merchant had had in the caravan such was not the reason for Xiulachu following the girl, Akilia; yet he still held his tongue.
As he had never let his guard down since exiting the caravan he was not jumpy and frightened when Akilia seemed to come towards him yet break off to turn the other direction. She thinks to intimidate me. Xiulachu thought to himself. Xiulachu had known that the phantom girl and Akilia were as far from common as anyone Xiulachu had ever seen and Akilia stating she wasn’t common was not much of a secret. She is tempting me; she has not told me her true secret I bet. Xiulachu thought after hearing the statement and the salute that Akilia gave him.
Some people would not be able to keep up with someone as fast as Akilia and the trees seemed to pop out of nowhere in defense of Akilia though Xiulachu was far from normal himself and his enhanced sight and hearing proved to be most useful in tracking the girl who seemed to know exactly where she was going.
Thought the forest they both went though Xiulachu purposefully lagged behind so as not to let Akilia know exactly where he was. To the right of Akilia and a few meters behind, Xiulachu followed until Akilia came to a break in the woods where a single tree stood tall, though Xiulachu didn’t break out of the tree line after her. The sight was not so much a shock as a confirmation to Xiulachu when he saw that Akilia had let him straight to the phantom girl from before. The sight of a bloodied girl was intimidating to Xiulachu before yet now he knew that it wasn’t really a girl, it was a creature of some sort. Xiulachu kept to the shadows of the tree line and listened in on the conversation between the two yet he made sure to drop his pack on the ground as softly as possible just in case he had to fight.
OOCI wonder how this will go. I'm actually pretty excited, there's so many things I can do, so many options |

"Killing him on the spot was appealing but that guy err...Xchilo... or whatever, was right there looking all, honorable so no doubt he would have probably defended the worthless piece of scum in the first place." She replied to Kouri grinning, "Secondly, I wasn't running away from a fat merchant, I was leaving Xiulachu in the dust."
She heard a faint rustle in the trees behind them, the sound picked up easily on her sensitive ears and frowned. No human could have possibly caught up that quickly no matter how good a tracker or runner, or both. She wanted to dismiss the noise as nothing but the new smell of a human entering her nose mad her think twice.
She turned around whispering quietly to Kouri as she did so, "I think he's here..." She looked straight into the trees surrounding the clearing with the massive one they were near. She searched the surroundings for any form of movement, her ear twitched and her head spun the other way responding to the sound of something rustling. A bush was moving in the darkness, capturing Akilia's attention, "Weird I thought he would hide in a-" She laughed at her own paranoia and shook her head in defeat, when a little bunny hopped out of the bush and upon spotting Akilia it squealed in alarm it dashed away in fear. Animals always seemed to have an uncanny sense of her Kelvic predator and the prey animals picking it up faster than others. "Ptff, I've never even got near it." The fresh scent of human still stuck in the air in contrast to Kouri's scent of blood. Akilia turned back to her friend, "I guess its nothing...but I swear there's a human snooping around here...or was. The scent is so fresh." |

"Oh... ahaha! Ahahahaha! I see..." Akilia's response delighted Kouri, her friend shared the same killing impulse as her it seemed. "Kehehehe... so... a knight in shining armor he is, eh? And he's following you? Even better... even BETTER! HAHA!! HAAAHAHAHA!" Kouri backed away from Akilia and hovered at five feet above the ground. She then held out her hands to her side "He's here? Good... we could kill him here... in these woods... his corpse will be eaten by the wolves and none would be the wiser..."
Her insane side wanted to have revenge... revenge to that man who disturbed her haunting session. A rustle was heard... and it seemed Akilia heard it as well. "....." Kouri's very long ethereal hair billowed with the wind as she turned her head to the direction Akilia was looking at. Kouri tilted her head, waiting for whatever is inside the bush to show itself; her crimson serpentine eyes glinting maliciously. Then... a bunny came out who immediately ran away at the sight of Akilia, perhaps noticing Akilia's predatory aura.
"How rude... to just run away like that..." Kouri positioned herself like an arrowhead and charged forward, chasing the rabbit. She phased through tress and bushes and spotted the rabbit scramming frantically for its life. Kouri flew directly above the rabbit, staring it down like a bird of prey. An ethereal black tendril then jutted out from Kouri's back and grabbed the rabbit's right hind leg, she picked it up and the rabbit thrashed around; trying to escape. "Heh... hehehehe~" She giggled and flew back to her clearing, the rabbit in tow.
"I got it, Akilia..." She showed off her catch to her friend. "Hmmm? A human snooping around? Is it Sir Xiulachu? Heh... hehehehe... tell him to come out... I won't do anything~" She lied of course, the dripping venom in her voice showed such. |

Xiulachu was actually amused with the fact that the two ‘people’, a term that would obviously be used lightly in this situation, had yet to find out where he was hiding. Somewhat about testing his stealth skills and somewhat about attaining answers to the many questions that have confounded him ever since he entered the caravan a few bells ago, Xiulachu continued to eavesdrop on the conversation that the phantom girl and Akilia were having. Though he was not surprised when his name was mentioned by both the phantom girl and Akilia but the added title of sir in front of his name shocked him. who did they think I was? Xiulachu wondered as he moved from bush to bush, tree to tree in the hopes that he was not discovered by the duo that stood not but thirty meters from him.
Knowing it was the right time to reveal himself Xiulachu quickly stepped out into the opening behind where the duo was standing. Xiulachu knew after seeing some of what the phantom girl could do, some sort of arm that could materialize out of the phantom girls’ body. They’re on edge. I better watch what I say or this will turn into a fight. Xiulachu stated to himself while looking directly at the two most unusual people he had ever seen.
Just so you know, I am no knight and I care not for any merchant too rich to understand the basics of survival. Xiulachu announced to the two who were less than twenty meters from where he stood. And Akilia, I know very well how to track people who need to be found. Xiulachu said as he placed his hand on the dagger he had sheathed at his side.
