Kouri kept trudging or rather, floating, through the forest, making no sounds whatsoever save for the slight shake of her basket. Her dainty high-heeled red shoes floating just a few inches above the ground. A family of rabbits immediately ran in fear at her mere presence, sensing a chilling aura from the translucent little girl. "Hey... wait... awww..." Kouri was a bit disappointed. Ever since she became a ghost, very few animals would go near her on their own will save for a few domesticated ones such as Akilia's dog, Ginger.
She liked the white with creamy-red dog. It approached her without hesitation and with friendliness. It didn't even flinch when Kouri materialized herself and petted it. Hmmm... I wonder where's Akilia today? Kouri couldn't help but wonder on where her Kelvic friend is. She's one of the few young people who looked at Kouri's age and wasn't afraid of her. Of course there's also Sir Merle, Sir Kise, and Alabast. But they were all boys and were slightly older than her.
"Oh? Where... am I?" When she returned her attention to her surroundings, she found out that she was somewhere deep inside the woods that she had never venture before. This part of the forest had more tall trees than the area around her favorite tree. As a result, sunlight didn't touch the forest floor as much.
Kouri was lost, to say the least. Ordinary little girls would freak out and panic at this, but not her, Kouri merely shrugged her shoulders. She could just fly above the trees, observe the landscape, and head to Syliras City. It's very hard to miss that giant fortress the people called a city.
"Now the- huuh? What is it this time?" She slowly stopped as she heard howlings near her area. "Heh... wolves..." She scoffed, not a tinge of fear or panic could be sensed from her voice. Moments later, she could feel that she was being watched. What are they going to do? Hunt me? Very funny... Kouri knew the wolves were being cautious, they sensed something was wrong with this humanoid figure. She didn't emit any breathing sounds, she didn't have any body warmth, and she was floating.
"Come out now, doggies~ Come on~ Come on~" She directed her sound at the trees around her where the pack of wolves used for hiding. She didn't care how many of them they are, it didn't really matter unless one of the wolves could use Reimancy which is very very unlikely.
She heard a snarl and looked to her right side to find a rather large wolf slowly inching to her, it bared its fangs, trying to look as intimidating as possible. This wolf looked rather old... Kouri thought. She didn't know for sure and merely judging it from the wrinkles on its face.
"Oh my, grandma, what big teeth you have~" She mocked the alpha, her haunting voice echoing in the area. The wolves felt intimidated, preys didn't sound this way... The alpha, feeling that Kouri is a threat to his pack's territory, snarled more at her and prepared to lunge itself.
"Hmph. Come~" Kouri made a mocking gesture with her right index finger. They never learn... As expected the wolf launched at her and... *Woosh!* It went through her as if she was air, it almost hit the basket carried by Kouri's tendril in accident though. The wolf made a yelping sound as it crashed into a tree, completely unexpecting that its assault would... go like that.
"You... you..." Kouri's pupils suddenly narrowed into slits, her hair magically lost its ribbons, and swayed wildly whipping the air. "You almost hit my basket... the basket Madame Atta gave to me... how dare you... how dare you..." Her echoing haunting voice had much lower pitch than usual.
The alpha wolf was visibly intimidated now, this creature wasn't afraid of it, that much was clear. Still, trying to protect its territory, he snarled more and called for back-up from the other wolves.
"Hahaha... hahaha... I'll kill you all..." Kouri didn't let them proceed any further as her voice got louder and louder "I'LL KILL YOU!!! I! WILL! KILL! EVERY! SINGLE! ONE! OF! YOU!!! HYAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!" She exclaimed each of her threats and let out a laughter that would make a banshee proud.
The wolves with their sensitive ears couldn't take the echoing high-pitched insane haunting laughter, their eardrums transmitted extreme pain and they instinctively retreated out of fear, yelping and running with their tail between their legs. "COME BACK!! COWARDS!! HEHEHEHE!! I'll find you all someday..." Kouri's chaotically swaying hair calmed itself down and her pupils returned to normal. It always worked, almost like magic~ Kouri giggled, that demonic act was surely effective against common animals like those wolves.
Now then... Kouri wanted to continue her search then her eyes noticed something. Spread before her, on the forest floor was filled with numerous Windflower plants, their pretty white petals and yellow stamens decorating the ground before her. "Ooooh! Yes! Hehehehe~" Kouri excitedly knelt down, put down her basket, and began her work. Selecting and picking up the flowers that were in pristine condition.
After gathering ten stalks of wildflowers, Kouri decided to even the numbers and picked ten more flowers even though Madame Atta only asked for ten for the Windflowers. Ehehe~ More couldn't hurt~ She wanted to give the extra ten to Atta as gifts.
Putting the last flower, Kouri huffed and picked up the basket. Time to go back to Madame Atta~ Then she flew upwards, above the tall tree branches. Once she was cleared of the forest ceiling, she immediately spotted the huge castle that was Syliras City and happily flew there, carefully carrying the basket with her tendril as to not let any of the flowers fall.
