✥ Introduction My ultimate goal is to get every player and every PC heavily invested in Kenash and what goes on in this city. To this end, I've created the Swamp Perk Points System and its subsequent Treasure Chest. The Treasure Chest is filled with gear, pets, magic items, unique items, god-blessed things, all sorts of weird and wonderful creations. All these Treasure Chest items cost points. The more points they cost, the more exotic and cool the item will be. Each item will have stats and any bonus' or magical properties clearly outlined before the item is purchased. Any character may earn Perk Points from any domain. However, all Perk Point development must be Kenash Specific. This is Kenash's take on creativity and character involvement and the city is going to reserve this system for its own use. ✥ Perk Point Purchases The second post - The Perks Treasure Chest - in this thread will contain a list of items that can be purchased from the Perk Points Center. All items are somewhat unique and subject to change at the whim of storytellers at any time. Once an item is purchased it will be removed off the list. Most items on the main list are one-of-a-kind unless they are from the 'grab bag' section. Items, or Perks as we call them, will be added to the list all the time. Players should feel free to suggest items in the Suggestion Box thread. Inspiration takes time so be patient about new items being added. At first the Treasure Chest might seem sparse, but it will be fleshed out and replenished as people earn Perk Points and purchase Perks from it. ✥ Earning Points Players earn points through both IC and OOC activities. Below is a list of points each sort of activity is worth. More activities could be added to the list at any given time. There is no minimum to how many points a PC can earn or how long it takes a PC to complete the task. Players can be earning points through more than one activity at any given time. Feel free to suggest new ways to earn points. New additions to how to earn points might crop up on this list at any time. Perk points are not transferable among alts or among players. Lending A Helping Hand Mentor a Newbie OOC: 10 pts (up to ST's judgement) Peer edit/critique a World Development Article: 5 pts Editing Lore (Grammer/Spelling/Wording): 5 pts Acting as a Guest Moderator for training: 15 pts Acting as a Guest Moderator for a Quest: 20 pts Produce a Good Quest Idea: 5 pts PC Activity Have Active Threads In Kenash: 1 pt per thread per Season Start a Business: 20 pts (One time prize) Teach Another PC Something: 5 pts Mentoring a Newbie IC: 5 pts (ie take on an apprentice/employee) Create IC Art/Literature Piece: 5 pts – 25 pts Host an IC Event : 50 pts – 100 pts Volunteer IC : 10 pts – 20 pts Contests Top Seasonal Perk Point Holder: 50 pts Weekly Development Contest Winner: 50 pts ✥ Getting Points Counted All projects being done towards Perk Points must be turned into the suggestion box thread. Once the project is completed and installed (in the case of development) then Perk Points will be assigned and recorded below. ✥ Using Points and Purchases You may use Perk Points at any time. Simply post in this thread and let a storyteller know your cashing in your Perk Points (or a portion of them) for whatever item is on the list you covet. Now, here's the tricky point. Once you 'have' the item - ie purchased it - you must write a thread (which can be a solo) explaining how your PC acquired the purchase from the perk store IC. Your character can 'discover it' or have it 'gifted' to them. The sky is the limit on how these items are granted but you must be creative. This 'award' thread needs to be detailed, in depth, and well thought out. If it is a poorly written thread, there's a chance a storyteller could revoke your Perk Points purchase and you'll loose both the item and the purchase. Storytellers are very fair in this and its expected to never happen due to the caliber of writers on Mizahar. If the item comes with a title like "The Talingrad Bow" your IC thread must clearly define why its called that and why it's a legend or whatever its title hints at. You could even go so far as to have some of Miza's famous events incorporated into these tall tales. When the thread is graded, the item is yours to keep and will be added to your Storyteller's Secret thread. ✥ Purchasing Points You can never purchase points using Mizas or any other means (ie donations to the website). However, you can cash out your points for a 1 point = 10 GM ratio. I realize sometimes PC's need emergency funds and this might be a good way to have a wealthy uncle die and leave your PC some Mizas if the need ever arose. ✥ Tracking Points All Perk Points will be recorded here. Or a full dress. Shoes, and a jewelry valued at a total of 20GM or less) A Chalice with Fizz doses included. Two sets of Exquisite Clothing. Free passage on the water taxis for a season. 75 Perk Points A Spectre with Golden Pocket Doses Included. Fifteen Doses of Orange and Blue Quill (Each) Free Tutelage with any of the Tutors (For one season. Up to three threads.
