Ricky's face dropped for a moment but then broke into a laughter, admittedly Castor already found himself under the influence of Hannah's charm it seems. It's true though how she needn't work so hard to get what she wanted, Hannah was cunning and knew just how to get things in the most clever ways. Castor proceeded to return the book, and reminded Ricky that should he come back to read it the librarian would remember its location. "Thanks mate." He nodded with a humble expression, sincere to Castor after he put the book away. He stood and looked around while waited for Castor to climb down, the library once more peaceful now that Hannah seemed to go about her business. He actually worried if she really did try any "dirty" business in the library, seeing as how she went to such length to convince Castor to try and do so. Thankfully he didn't take her seriously until she decided to leave with an impression, thus the blush the librarian gave was evidence enough.

When Castor decended he looked Ricky in the eyea with curious intent, and the question that followed being one Ricky should've expected. 'Aw shyke, should'a seen it comin'.'He blushed a bit with a rub on his neck, the humble guard did his best not to seem so embarrassed about such a subject. "It's a long story actually, we did have somethin' but then a lot o' stuff happened.' He didn't think it best to go into full detail about his story, their place in the library certainly not a good one to share it with. He honestly wouldn't mind sharing it with Castor for sure, but the two were better off elsewhere so they could sit; it was a long story after all. "but yeah, we'd a thing once. Short though, very short." He rambled now as he felr unsure about Castor's interest, whether he was satisfied and no longer wanted to know more or hear the story; that remained to be see apparently.

Castor witnessed the Wave Guard's face bloom the, by then familiar red and knew he had hit the nail on the head before the man had even confirmed it. He was taking way too much guilty pleasure in the make-Ricky-blush game, and had to wonder if that was because Ricky's reactions were invariably funny, or because he'd somehow been infected with Hannah's devilish sense of humor in their short meeting.

But Ricky did seem quite embarassed and was skirting around the subject, not really going into it at all, which sobered Castor up. He figured that the man didn't really want to talk about such intimate details of his personal life with, practically, a stranger. "Oh, sorry, didn't mean to make you uncomfortable. Or maybe I did, a bit, but I'm stopping now. I don't want to press you for details or anything," he said raising his hands apologetically. He caught himself hoping he hadn't put Ricky off the friendship he felt might develop, and was quite perplexed. He wondered if that might also be something Ricky brought out of him.

"Hey, we should meet up sometime. Outside of the library, you know? Maybe catch a beer after season change? I heard there's this opening event for some new shop in town..." He felt rather awkward, like he was asking him out or something, which he supposed he was, but not with the same intention he usually asked people out. With his father's illness, he had never really had much time for true friendships and all that social stuff. His life had oscillated between working at the bazaar and caring for his father at home. Of course, he'd had the odd toss-about in the proverbial hay, but these had been affairs of pure lust, guilty minutes taken away from time his morality decreed should be spent elsewhere. He had never had any deep relationships outside of familial ones, and his sudden desire to start one that was more than just surface-deep unsettled his usual calmness.

"Teh," He smirked a bit as he regained a bit of his original color, "believe me mate it takes a great deal to make me uncomfortable. What ye and Hannah did ain't got me near close." He mused with a small chuckle; admittedly he had been embarrassed a bit on multiple accounts, but not once did he actually feel uncomfortable during their little flirtatious charade. He made sure Castor knew this with a wide grin and wink as he came to be totally relaxed, his face now a shade of light red that would soon fade to its original tan color. "If ya absolutely wanna know ask me later, I'm sure I won't mind sharin' a little bit 'bout it then." He assured Castor with a nod, a humble stare at the man to show he was thought of as a friend to say the least.

'It's the end o' the season already?!' He had forgotten the amount of time it took to go searching for Hannah, the trip to Nyka being what felt like the longest trip in his life. He remembered that he actually just got home yesterday even, and admittedtly while he's only been home for one day it still felt longer. Strange how that worked really, but for Ricky he could only sigh in joyful content as he enjoyed being home. "Aye that we should mate, definitely would like to see how many mugs o' beet ya can handle." He enthused with another light chuckle, the warm positive energy bound to rub off on Castor if he could sense it. Ricky always tried to maintain a warm and humble demeanor, but of course now that he's been home and finally confessed his love to Tel, it had a way of naturally coming out on its own. The fisherman who became a guard had come a long way in just one season, and now he was on the verge of becoming a father as well.

Ricky remembered that the time for his patrol would be coming up soon, and he then started to worry at what time it might be. "Oh shyke! I gotta check in with the Offices and start my patrol." He gave Castor a friendly grin and held his hand out in a manner to shake it. "I tell ya mate it's been a pleasure meetin' ya today, we definitely gotta buy a couple drinks at the Kelp Bar sometime." When Castor would say his fair bit of the farewell Ricky would nod in a friendly manner, and wish him a good day as he went off.

Castor breathed a sigh of relief, hearing Ricky's words; he hadn't been uncomfortable and was fine to share information, just preferred a different setting. He couldn't help but smile at Ricky's reaction to the news that season change was fast-approaching. The same was true when hearing Ricky's enthusiastic agreement to his invitation. "Well, you'll just have to see," he said, with a certain confidence in his drinking ability. Castor took Ricky's proffered hand and gave him a firm shake. "The pleasure has been all mine. Truly, you have no idea. You have a good day, too" He felt he had had more fun in that one afternoon than the rest of the season combined, and he got the impression that if he stuck with Ricky, he'd have more of those.

He watched as Ricky turned the corner, rushing off to whatever Wave Guard business he needed to attend, and just stood there for a few seconds, pondering the series of events that he'd just been a part of. He started off then, chuckling to himself a bit. That day quite a few students who approached Castor, frantically searching for the research materials they needed to complete their final projects, were thoroughly perplexed by the librarian's sudden fits of chuckling, leaving with books in hand, confused expressions and the sound of suppressed laughter echoing in the hall behind them.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. This has been one of the funner threads I've been a part of, and reflects a bit better the way I wanted Castor to appear to begin with. Looking forward to our next thread!
