Haylo, The Child of the Spiritist Name: Haylo Armsworth Age: 12 Birthday: 86th of Summer, 501AV Gender: Male Race: Human Language: Fluent - Common Appearance: Haylo is a small child who stands about 4 ft tall and weights about 75 lb, and still growing. He has short straight brown hair, dark blue eyes and fair skin. He'll wear often wear a black shirt, black boots and long brown pants which are slightly too long for him, and over that clothing he wears a brown Robe of Leaves for protection. He a carries his mother's Rapier by his side, a few Rope darts coiled up in his robe, a satchel on his back and a Crossbow bracer on his left wrist. Character's Concept: Haylo ran away at the age of nine. He’s independent, but emotionally unstable due to his father. He now lives in the forest in a tent. However, He does go to the city and sleeps there every now and them, but he spends the majority of his time in the forest. He maybe young, but he was taught how to survive due to his mother guidance and knowledge of the forest. He is able to hold his own in combat, but he is still young and growing. In combat he relies on counter attacks rather than brute force, due to his child-like muscles are still developing. Haylo is also able to deal with ghost and spirit due to his mother’s training. (expanding) Personality: Haylo is a respectful and well-mannered child. He’ll often speak to people formally and politely, just like his mother taught him. Even when faced with an opponent his respectful nature shows, bowing before engaging with them. However, underneath this polite nature of his, hides a lonely child. Haylo feels secluded from everyone. He’s emotionally aloof, but social. Haylo enjoy peace and doesn’t like unnecessary fights. He prefers to talk things out before taking arms. However, if it’s a dire situation, he’ll take arms before talking. (expanding) Housing: Haylo lives in the Bronze Forest in Syliras. He takes shelter in a tent, but doesn’t stay in one place for too long. Haylo tends to set up his tent near food sources or places where the temperate is pleasant. When he is in need for food supplies, he will pack up his tent and sleep in the city for a day or two then head back out. History: Because of his father, Haylo ran away from home. After his mother’s death, his father blamed him for her untimely demise. For a whole season, Haylo would be emotionally abused by his father, who was wasting his life away at The Herald’s Arm. Haylo couldn’t bear staying with him any longer so he ran away and lived in the forest. Weapon, Techniques and Styles Weapons Weapon image Name Description Mother's Rapier This is Haylo’s mother’s Rapier. This Rapier was handed down to Haylo from his mother. This Rapier is in good condition considering it has been passed down for four generations. It has been repaired multiple times, but it still works perfectly. The rapier’s blade is slightly flatter than common rapiers, which allows it to slash as well as thrust. Mother's Bladed & Chained Rope Darts The Bladed & Chained Rope Darts (BCRD) is a utility weapon, like all of Haylo's weapons it once belonged to his mother. The BCRD is used to stab and slice opponents from a far, as well as confusing them as it swings around Haylo’s body. The BCRD is very useful for Haylo if he fights enemies who won’t get close to him. The BCRD functions as a grapple hook of a sort, stabbing or wrapping an enemy before pulling them towards himself. The BCRD requires to be swung around Haylo’s body if it is to be used effectively. Mother's Crossbow Bracer The Crossbow Bracer is ranged utility weapon used by Haylo. As the name suggest, it’s a tiny crossbow mounted on a bracer. It’s small enough not to interfere with Haylo’s movements, but big enough to be practical. The Crossbow bracer is another weapon passed down from Haylo from his mother. It’s main use if you shoot at enemies who are too close or too far for the BCRD to be effective. It also serves as a surprise attack as it is hidden under Haylo’s left sleeve. Techniques   Rapier Skills Image Technique Description Lunge/Thrust Lunging or trusting is a basic attack with a Rapier. Lunging is a strong attack that uses the attacks body momentum and channels it into his rapier as he thrusts. The lunge may be basic, but if it hits it will pierce the body fairly easily. Parry Parrying is a valuable skill that both protects the body and deflects an opponent’s attack. Parrying is very useful both defensively and offensively. When used offensively, parrying is used as an opener to a counter. Parrying requires focus and concentration, as well as predicting where the enemy will strike. Riposte Riposte is a counter attack used after a parry. After parrying an attack, the enemy will have no weapon defending his main body – unless they have a shield. When the enemy’s body is defenceless the attacker thrusts his rapier into the enemy’s body. This attack requires the attack to seize an opening in the enemy’s defence Disarm Disarming an opponent is a good way to either defeat them or force them to yield. Disarming requires a lot of practise if it is to be used effectively. Swift Lunge A swift Lunge or thrust is a very risky, but powerful attack. As the enemy is about to strike, the attacks rushes into the attack and stabs the enemy’s body before that can actually swing their weapon. This move is risky because the enemy can easily intercept the attack, leaving the attack vulnerable.   Spiritist Skills Image Technique Description Spirit Anchor Spirit Anchor is a simple skill which prevents a spirit from running away via flying. A BCRD is thrown at the Spirit, piercing its body. Then the rope is tied onto something that will keep the ghost from running. A ghost is able to blink out of the ability if it’s smart enough. However, ghost who are low on soulmist and are unable to blink will have a very frustration time.   Acrobatic Skills Image Technique Description Styles Image Stance Description Basic Rapier Stance This is the basic stance when wielding the rapier. Its posture is well balanced for offensive, defensive mauvers and strikes. As well as moving around the enemy. Rapier & Dagger This is an aggressive stance. Used mainly for deflecting an attack with a dagger, followed up by a thrust of the rapier. This stance requires duel wielding.
