Stretching northward along the coastline of the Suvan Sea, the Cobalt Mountains are the home of the Bronze Wood, numerous ruins, and creatures both strange and fantastical.

"Ehehehe~ Woosh~ Woosh~" The usual haunting girlish giggle and laughter could be heard in the Bronze Woods that afternoon. A translucent little girl floating above the ground by a few inches was the source of the voice. Kouri, the aforementioned little girl, was having a jolly good time; dancing and twirling around like a ballerina.
She looked so innocent and cheerful, however if one looked closer, one could see four sinister spinning daggers forming a makeshift chakram was revolving around the little girl. A ghastly ethereal black tendril jutted out from the girl's back and wrapped around the chakram, acting as an elastic arm. Kouri was playing and practicing with her soulmist projection ability, cutting tall grasses and plants as she spread her carnage to the low-growing plants.
"Haaaaah~" She stopped for a moment and sighed in satistaction. The grasses around her were neatly cut by her chakram, she felt that she was getting better at controlling these strange appendages that she could summon and control at will. "What should I do next?" Kouri directed the question at her chakram, the chakram flew near her master and bobbed up and down as if it was alive and understood her.
"I think I'll explore some more! Let's go, Fangie~" Kouri talked to the chakram, which she nick-named Fang or Fangie, like it was her flying familiar. She then shifted her position to look like she was a launching arrowhead and flew through the forest, maneuvering and dodging trees along the way. She could just phase through the trees, but where's the fun in that? Besides, Fangie could crash if she flew in a straight line.
After fifteen chimes of flying, Kouri came to a stop near a clearing. "Nyo~♥" Kouri let out a cute voice as she elegantly landed on the ground, then her form immediately hovered above the ground by a few inches. "Hmmmm? What do we have here, Fangie?" Kouri looked around, her crimson eyes searching for something that interests her. The chakram also spun around, helping its master.
"Ooooooh! What's thaaaaaaaaaaat~?" She found something very interesting... a tent, and it looked fresh and certainly was not an abandoned campsite. "Ehehehahaha~" Kouri let out a mischievous giggle and flew to the campsite. "Hellooooo~ anybody home~?" She peeked inside the tent, but found no one there.
"There's a lot of stuffs here... hmmm... Ku ku ku~♪" She naughtily giggled, she couldn't contain her curiosity of messing around with this campsite, she was sure the owner wouldn't mind... maybe. "Stay there, Fangie~" Putting down her chakram on the ground inside the tent, Kouri proceeded to peruse the various objects on the camp. A particular thing caught her interest, a thick winter blanket. "Ooooh~" She materialized herself and touched the blanket with her hands. So soft~ Ehehe~ Hmmm... I think I'll take it... It's not stealing if no one finds out... right? |

“Okay… sit still... and you won’t feel a thing” Haylo whispered to himself as he held up his left arm towards a deer. On his left arm was a bracer that held a tiny crossbow, armed with a bolt strong enough to penetrate the skull of a deer. Haylo slowed his breath and waited silently sprawled on the ground. His brown Robe of leaves provided a bit of camouflage for Haylo from the deer. The deer was grazing on a small patch of grass, unaware of Haylo’s presences. Haylo was behind the deer and was waiting for the right moment to strike. Suddenly, an odd sound howled in the wind and made the deer raise its head, that’s when the bolt felt the crossbow. The deer fell to the ground and began twitching. Slowly the twitching faded away and the deer was still. Haylo rose up and walked towards the deer, bowing his head in respect. Haylo then picked up the deer and slowly made his way back to his camp
Haylo was out hunting for the day because he’s all out of meat to cook. While he was hunting, he came across a deer that had strayed from its group. The lone deer was easy prey for Haylo, so he made short work of it. Haylo carried the deer back to his camp. However, when he returned he sensed something strange. It was like the atmosphere what colder and had some sort of pressure pushing down on Haylo's soul. After a chime of making sense of the feeling, Haylo knew that there was a ghost nearby. The sound of a small girl giggle could be heard as he made his way to the camp. The giggling sounded as if it was inside his tent. Haylo dropped his kill near the camp and slowly made his way to his tent.
He inched closer and closer towards the tent. He reached his arms and his fingertips lightly brushed the opening of the tent. Haylo took a deep breath in, mustering his voice. He then threw out the tent’s opening and yelled out in his child-like voice. “HEY?!” He screamed. Haylo was met with a young girl with extremely long white hair, wearing strange clothing; she looked about Haylo’s age. She looked as if she was holding his winter blanket with an intention of stealing it. “Please put that down, that’s not yours!” he added, pointing at the winter blanket. When Haylo looked on the ground he noticed a weapon that didn’t belong to him, Haylo braced himself, ready to draw his rapier to deflect the blade. |

"Nyaaaa?!" A rather cute terrified scream Kouri's lips as her eyes widen in surprise at the sudden boyish scream. The blanket she was holding with her tendril dropped to the ground. A boy with short brown hair, dark azure eyes that contrasted greatly with Kouri's bright crimson, and a fair skin-tone. His clothing suggested that he was someone who knew their way around the Woods and not a lost child.
Is he... is he the owner? Kouri blinked twice to examine him again, this boy was short... Kouri stood up from her kneeling position and edged closer to the boy. Yes, he was shorter than Kouri by quite a margin. Ohoho... heeeey~ Hehehehe~ He's just a little kid~ Kouri knew that even she was quite short compared to the usual humans, being a Vantha, and seeing that her even short form towered over this boy filled her with confidence. She thought that he was eight years old or somewhere around that.
"Ehehehehe~" Kouri hauntingly giggled and put her right hand atop the boy's head to ruffle his brown hair, sucking his body warmth and giving her chilling touch in return. "What's the matter? Are you lost? Big sis was just looking around~ and tsk tsk... good children do not carry weapons, bad bad boy~" Kouri acted like she was an adult teaching a child on how to act properly, but her girlish voice somewhat betrayed her act.
"You know... hehehe, big sis doesn't really like being surprised so..." A tendril shot up from her back and picked up her dagger-chakram. She spun it on her side, the four steel daggers glinting dangerously. "So if you could just kindly leave big sis alone for a while~ It would be nice, yes? Ehehe~ I'll not be here long..." She utterly underestimated the boy just because she was taller than him. |

The ghost let out a yelp as Haylo startled her. After she regained her breath, she dropped the winter blanket and examined Haylo. Soon after he began to giggle as she towered over him just by standing. Haylo was fairly shorter that average child his age. People would often mistake him for being younger that his actual age. The ghost reached out to Haylo, placing her hand on his head and ruffled it. Her hand was cold, and Haylo thought that the gesture was demeaning. Haylo backed away from the ghost, escaping the ghost’s hand. Soon after the ghost began to talk, asking if he was lost and commenting his weapons. The way the ghost spoke made Haylo think two about think she was a threat. However, as the ghost spoke, she lifted the blades that were on the floor and began spinning them. The ghost requested for Haylo to leave his camp, but Haylo wouldn’t give up his home.
“Sorry, but I’m not going anywhere.” Haylo said as he drew his rapier. The metallic sound of the weapon being drawn was like music to Haylo’s ear. Haylo then fixed his posture, adopting a combat stance. His legs were bent and he stood side on to the ghost, pointing the rapier in her direction, ready to fend off her weapons. “Please, we don’t need to resort to violence, ‘Big Sis’” he said, trying to sway her thoughts of attacking. |

"Fuh... fuhehehehehehe~" Kouri giggled and scoffed at the boy's pitiful attempt to defend himself. It was clear that the boy barely knew how to use his rapier from his stance and positioning, this boy was a novice. "Ehehehehahahaha~ Big sis is afraid~♪" Kouri mocked him. "Ehehehe..." Her hair ribbons magically disappeared and her very long ethereal white hair spread out like a cobra hood, her crimson pupils also narrowed to serpentine slits. She would teach this little child to know his place. The chakram beside her also spun rapidly, eager to follow whatever its Master desired.
Kouri then vanished from her spot and appeared directly behind the boy in an instant, using her ghostly blinking ability. She then raised her hands and covered both of the boy's azure eyes with her pale corpse-pale hands, using her chilling touch to stun him by touching his eyes. She knew that most people couldn't ignore the chilling and pain from being poked in the eyes due to the very delicate tissue of the sight-sense organ.
As she did that, the chakram launched itself to the boy's neck and stopped just right before it made contact with his delicate flesh. "Sssssh..." Kouri put her lips beside the boy's left ear and whispered to him. "Big sis doesn't like violence either... Big sis loves to play though... like... playing 'milking-red-juice-out-of-your-body' game... do you like that? No? Then be a good boy and listen to what big sis said... okay~♪? " |

The ghostly girl giggled and laughed. Haylo wasn’t sure if she was mocking him, or laughing at him. Nonetheless, Haylo kept his guard up. “What’s so funny, ‘big sis’?” He asked holding his rapier in a defensive position. However, he was responded with an assault. The ghost blinked behind Haylo and covered his eyes. The cold touch made Haylo grunt in pain a bit. Soon after he felt the air from the daggers brushed across his neck. He was in a bad spot. He wasn’t able to do anything to get out of his situation. The ghost mocked and requested for Haylo to listen to what she had to say. Haylo stayed silent for a while. “Okay, what is it you ask of me?” he said with a smile. He was smiling because ‘you must be polite when talking, show the person you are talking do a smile.’
Haylo prepped a plan as the ghostly girl spoke. If he didn’t like what she said, he would elbow her in the stomach to stun her for a brief moment and roll away from the ghost. After that he would fire his crossbow at the girl and pull out his rope dart and prepped it for use. However, Haylo isn’t ready to do that. He needed to weight what the girl had to say, she better hope that it was something worth listening to. |

"Hehehehe... ahahaha~" Kouri unmaterialized herself and removed her hands, the chakram was just millimeters apart from his neck. One move, one single sudden move and his jugular would be torn apart by the cold hard steel. "Hehehe, I'm impressed... I made a muscular giant of man screamed in pain when I poked his eyes... but you, you only grunted? Do you have some kind of special ability or something?" Kouri was genuinely intrigued by this boy because grown adult men, wolves, and other targets she poked so far couldn't stand her touch, especially on the eyes and they went screaming in pain.
"I wonder... why do you sound so confident~? Are you going to pierce me with that rapier of yours? Go on! Try it! Hahaha! Try it... hehehe... do that and my chakram would milk red juices out of that pretty little neck of yours..." Kouri knew the boy was in a hopeless situation, what could he do? Attack her unmaterialized state with physical weapons? She would really like to see him try... and see how his warm blood spraying to her body will feel.
"I don't think you fully comprehend the situation you're in, little brother... ehehehahahaha~ I can poke your eyes again... harder this time and you will scream in pain... or... would you like my daggers to poke your eyes instead?" Kouri flashed the boy a malicious grin, she liked his spunk. Admirable, but useless... "What if I say... I want you to die?" She would not actually kill him, she just wanted him to cower in fear and begged for his life. Breaking a brave person's resolve always felt good... |

The ghost removed her hands from Haylo’s eye and questioned how he was able to resist the pain and if he had special powers. Haylo grew accustomed the soulmist of ghost due to his mother’s training. If Haylo was an ordinary child with no Spiritism training, he would be in tears. “I’m an ordinary boy, ‘Big Sis’. If you’re trying to make me cry, your little brother has grown into a man.” Haylo said with a smile.
Haylo listened to the ghostly girl’s words, keeping his polite smile on his face. “Well, ‘big sis’… Why do you think I’m confident? Does it scare you? Do you fear your defenceless brother?” Haylo said, trying psyche out the ghost. “My rapier…? You want me to try? Well… If you’re offering I’ll gladly oblige, ‘big sis’. Your little brother wants to play with his big sister.” He said, rearing his head, staring into the ghost’s red eyes.
The ghost continued talking to the Haylo with an ominous smile on her face. “I do understand the I am in, ‘big sis’. Eheheheh! But I don’t think you don’t understand the situation you’re in, ‘big sis’… heheheh” Haylo said, staring into the ghosts eyes with wide eyes that twitched. A ghoulish smile grew on his face as he stared it the girl’s eyes. “Does ‘big sister’ love her little brother’s screams? I like screams too… I like ‘big sister’s screams… the louder she screams, the more of she blocks out daddy’s yelling.” Haylo said, staring the ghost dead in the eye. “What if ‘big sister’s little brother wanted her to die with him? Will ‘big sister’ play?” he said, smiling.
Haylo continued the physiological warfare with the ghost, in hope that she would back away. He turned around slowly and faced the ghost. Haylo reached out to the ghost with his left hand and placed in over there the ghost heart would be. She soulmist felt soft and cold. “Does ‘big sis’ feel funny here? Like a knot that won’t come undone? I think its confusion ‘Big Sister’ are you confused?” Haylo said, as he removed his hand from the ghost. |

OOC I don't want to do this, but Kouri IC could actually kill you if your char continues to aggravate her.
Your combat abilities are still novice and you don't have enough level Acrobatic skill to evade a point-blank strike from a Competent-leveled Soulmist projection in time
The boy turned around to face her. Bad move... the chakram was now located just behind his neck and out of his vision. At this point-blank range, it was all the more easy to just kill him on the spot without giving him any time to react. "Ke..kekeke... KAHAHAHAHA!! OHOHOHO!! HAHAHAHAHA!!!" Kouri's mouth opened wide, as wide as it could be and cackled at the boy's face.
The boy's attempt to intimidate her back and the mention of the word 'daddy' triggered Kouri's insane side even more, the part of her mind that never recovered ever since she witnessed her parents torn apart before her very eyes. The side took over Kouri's original personality now, her morals and etiquette went out the window. "I do understand the situation I'm in... little brother... I understand that you're a foolish, foolish child... do you think you can hurt me with that flimsy weapon of yours? Hahahahahaha! Heck, you couldn't even hit me with the way you're holding your rapier..."
Kouri had killed before, not just wolves and wild animals, but living adult warriors as well. The pirates at the Suvan Sea made great targets... She had gone past the moral event horizon. Killing a little boy was nothing for her insane side. "Yes! YES YES YES! I WANT TO PLAY!!! PLAY WITH ME! HAHAHA!! HOW DO YOU LIKE THIS?!!" *GNASH!!!* The chakram that loomed behind the boy's neck suddenly flew to the side and stabbed his right shoulder.
Then Kouri separated the other three daggers, leaving the last one embedded in his shoulder flesh. "HAHAHAHAHAHA!! HOW DOES IT FEEL?!! DOES IT HURT?!" Then the other three daggers loomed to his left shoulder and stabbed him there. "DOES IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT HUUUUURT?!! SCREAM! SCREAM FOR ME! HAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!" The boy's both shoulders was now stabbed with two steel daggers. Kouri brought the remaining two daggers near the boy's face. "Now... I still have two... do you want your eyes to be replaced by my lovely pets?"
"Beg for your life... and I may just spare it... how pitiful it may be..." |
