Zaed was confused for a moment, perhaps he had made a mistake in labelling her a symenestra, but he was almost certain he hadn't. He brushed the woman's denial aside and grinned widely, shifting in his saddle to relieve the pain of his aching backside from a long days riding, "you still haven't told me your name...and it's getting dark, what say you to sharing a campfire tonight?"

Vassarka sighed, she supposed she would have to tell him what she was called sooner or later. "My name'sss Vassarka." she said reluctantly. "I'd be up for sharing a campfire with you...but why would we need one now? It'ss hardly dark." She glanced around, although the sun had set it was still relatively light to her eyes.

Zaed grinned, "here's a tip...Vassarka" he put emphasis on the name as she had to his, "if you're trying to hide the fact you're a symenestra, don't go flaunting your racial abilities..." He glanced around, it was intact growing particularly dark. He nodded to the side of the road, where a small clearing of trees appeared to be the perfect spot to settle down for the night, with room for several tents. "That seems a good enough place."

Vassarka smirked at the little man, who was clearly trying to seem smart. "I think it would be much better if we camped there." she said, pointing to a similar clearing on the other side of the road. "You obviousssly can't sssee as well asss I can, or elssse you would have noticcced that that ssspot is already occupied." In the shadows, where Zaed wouldn't possibly have been able to see it was a large hole in the side of the ground, with barely discernable tracks leading up to it. Although Vassarka didn't know what it was, she could see that there was clearly a creature that inhabited there, and she really didn't want to find out what it was. Without waiting for Zaed to say anything, she led Flash to the other clearing, which was slightly more visible from the road through lack of foliage and not as large.

Zaed paused before following Vassarka, peering into the darkness where he had pointed before. He could just make out a dark undertone of shadows where he assumed some creatures had made its home. He glanced down and noted with satisfaction that neither Ally nor his ferret, resting insides its cage infront of him in the saddle, showed any signs of agitation that a predator was near. He hid a smile, regardless, he doubted it would be a good idea to inform the woman of the fact: she appeared to be the kind that didn't take being confronted well. Remaining silent, Zaed nudged Ally toward the other clearing and ducking under branches, drew abreast with Vassarka. Placing his hands infront of him, Zaed swung his legs over the saddle and slid down to the floor, landing with a thud and small stumble. He drew Ally's reins over her head and led her to a small tree, tying her up while he removed his saddlebags and took off her tack. Taking a moment to briefly wipe the sweat from Ally's body to ensure she didn't chill in the cold with a dirty rag, Zaed glanced to the side to watch Vassarka. "So why exactly are you travelling north?"

Vassarka looked over her shoulder as she tied up Flash, and looked Zaed up and down. Even though it was getting dark, even to her eyes, she could still see that he was handsome, in a strange kind of way. She shook herself, and pulled her tent out of the saddlebag. It was so cumbersome and heavy...and she had never put up a tent before. Then Zaed asked why she was travelling North. "Well, asss you've probably guesssed, I am a Ssymenesstra. And the home of all Ssymenesstra is in Kalinor. That'sss where I'm going. What about yourssself?" Vassarka shook herself as soon as she had uttered the last word. What? Why had she told this...this stranger where she was headed. She didn't even know him. Fumbling with the knots on the tent bag, she heaved it onto the ground. She hadn't the first clue how to start putting it up.

[The Kabrin Road] A new journey

Zaed caught the woman staring at him, and felt a chill enter his spine; he knew how the symenestra fed... He shrugged the worry from his mind however. Moving around Ally's front, he patted her neck and gently scratched behind her ears. She snorted, and tried to pull away from him, but Zaed persevered, and after a moment found that she allowed his touch. He grinned. Turning back to the woman, he replied, "You're pretty, I'll give you that, but something tells me you're not so great at your Geography...why are you heading north to get to Kalinor? You ought to be travelling west, maybe find a place on a vessel heading across the sea that way."
As he finished saying it however, he realized she was focused on the tent in her hands and probably not listening to him. He watched as she handled it, fumbling with the knots. He held back a chuckle, "Would you like a hand with that?"

Vassarka dropped the tent and pouted playfully at Zaed. "Sso, first you want to know all about me, then you criticise my methods of achieving my goal. And yess, I would quite like some help with my tent. Please." she added. She had been just about to give up the tent, and was prepared to sleep under the stars. It was kind of him to help...but was he just trying to get close to her to find out more. Vassarka decided to play it safe, and act as though she trusted him completely, before she found out who, and what he was.

The tent itself was simple enough to put up, though as a four person, took up a large amount of space. With Vassarka lending a hand, he swiftly set it up. Glancing inside, he laughed, "You've got enough space in there for your horse as well!"
Heading over to his own packs, he pulled out his single person tent and set that up facing hers, throwing his tack, saddlebags and packs into the tent once it was ready. Reaching down, he also picked up his warhammer, and using it to prop himself up, said, "You have a habit of avoiding questions don't you...why are you heading north?"

Vassarka, ashamed of her own naivety, looked away for once, rather than matching Zaed's gaze with her own stare. "Well, I jussst, I thought that I could jussst take the road as far ass it goesss and jussst...make my way from there..." she muttered sullenly. "I'd be able to defend myssself though" she said, feeling the inside of her sleeve where one of her three throwing daggers was kept.
