Completed [The Kabrin Road] A new journey

Zaed stepped closer to the woman, and placed a hand on her shoulder gently, "Relax, sometimes the best journeys are the ones where you don't know where you're going." He winked at her in a joking manner, "Traveling all that way will take some time...good thing you've got me for company."
He grinned again, setting his warhammer down and sitting down on the floor.

Vassarka glanced up at Zaed slyly. So he was definitely staying with her. He must be as he seems, she thought, unlike some deceitful people she could have mentioned. Shaking herself out of past memories, she stood up, and tossed her hair over her shoulder. "Well, it'sss cccertainly a comforting thought, isssn't it, that you'll be sstaying with me?" she laughed. She liked him, she decided. She liked the way his hand had felt upon her shoulder, warm and strong, and she liked the little bit of hair that fell in front of his face, the way he smiled. In fact, she decided, she liked him so much that she wasn't going to kill him. Yet.

[Des]

Des had been camping out inbetween Pavi Lake and the Kabrin Road, perched atop a tree. Below him lay three dead bandits. So far it has gone well three kills and their unique studded bracers to confirm the kills.

The word of mouth actually worked this time. These bandits were sloppy they let many people live in exchange for their valuables. Those people however had no problem of telling were it happened. Most of them spoke of being ambushed between the lake and road. So their hideout must be in this area.

Growing ever darker it made harder for Des to be spotted atop the tree. Looking through his spyglass, Des could make out the road and the lake. The dark would make it harder for most people to see but, Des being a Kelivc can see in the dark just fine. Scaning the road his eyes happen upon two figures. Could it be a bandits setting up an ambush he thinks to himself?

He could not make out a detailed description from this distance. So reaching into his backpack he pulls out one of the climbing claws. Attaches it to his left hand and slides down the tree leaving a long claw mark on the tree. places the claw back, crouchs lower to the ground and slowly approachs the bandits. As he closes in on the bandit ambush. He spots a grouping of bushes that would make a marvellous hiding spot.

Settling into a more comfortable position within the bushes. He scans his new prey. On closer inspection they don't appear to be bandits. A man and a woman, the woman smelled of Symenstian cuisine. Which worried him, Symenstra's have great sight though he is well hidden his eyes refecting the moonlight glow in the dark. The Symenstra turns into his direction, Des having no option to move out further holds his breath and stay perfectly still.

Zaed grinned once more, and settled back, leaning against his saddle on the ground, he liked this woman. "We'll probably need to plan our journey some, I don't know about you, but I've only got about a weeks worth of food...and knowing how Symenestra feed, we'll I wouldn't want you to get hungry." He grinned again to show he meant no offence, and glanced around the clearing. He couldn't help but feel a small tickle of unease at his spine... But Zaed had never been one to get paranoid, so he simply settled back and began chewing on some dried fish.

Vassarka glanced around to where Zaed had been looking, and saw something gleaming in the moonlight. What could it be? Probably just the eyes of some creature. Having never being in the woods at night before, Vassarka felt herself growing a little nervous, but she wasn't going to show it. "Perhapsss we should gather wood to light a fire." she said to Zaed quietly. "I think there might be something there...it might ssscare it off." Standing up, Vassarka moved over to her horse to get the flint and steel from her horse's saddlebag.

Zaed was instantly alert, and jumped to his feet. He reached down and lifted up his warhammer. Although relatively unfamiliar with the weapon; he'd had little practice, he knew he'd have enough strength to stop an attack...depending on what kind of animal it was. Zaed glanced to where Vassarka had been looking. There was no movement in the shadows which Zaed could see, only a menacing darkness in the foliage. Zaed tightened his grip on his warhammer. Tied to the tree on the other side of the clearing, Ally was showing signs of unrest, and anxiously shifted on her hooves. He might not be able to see anything, but Ally could certainly sense something nearby, and he placed trust in Vassarka's superior vision and senses.
"What do you think it is?" He whispered.

[Des]

Des could see that they are aware of his presence. Looking around tying to think of a way to get away. He could change but his gear would be left behind. The armed man approached his position. Slowly he reaches for his bow and arrow. knocking the arrow back to the top of his chin. The creeking sounds of the bowstring tightening filled the air around him. Waiting to see if they are a threat before releasing the arrow at the man holding a warhammer.

Vassarka whipped around, and stared in horror as she saw an arrow come hurtling towards Zaed. "Watch out!" she screamed at him. Fortunately the arrow skimmed the air by his head, and Vassarka quickly got her bow and quiver of arrows from her saddlebag. Notching an arrow into the bow, she let it fly towards the direction of the bushes. Without waiting to see if it had hit it's target, she grabbed her throwing axe from inside the bag, and moved around to get a better look at what it was...

[Des]

Dodged the arrow sailing towards him. Dodging the arrow however made him move out of his hiding spot. Being out numbered he could not focus on the woman with the bow. quickly places his bow back and takes out his lasso. whipping it around and lassoing the man with the battle axe by the neck. pulling on his end causes the man to fall and grab at the rope around his neck. Drags the man over to him and brings his kris to the man's neck. Then looks to the woman and says " Drop your weapon or i'll kill your friend "!

Vassarka smirked at the guy. She guessed that he didn't have the guts to kill Zaed, and was just about to throw her axe and risk Zaed's life when something in his eyes stopped her. She lowered both of her weapons, and dropped them to the ground. "Pleassse." she said softly to the man with the kris to Zaed's neck. "Let him be...I'm the one that you want." She reached behind her and flung the quiver of arrows down to the ground. She dropped her gaze, then glanced back up to the man and Zaed. "Zaed, drop your weapon. I don't know what he wants but I'll let him have me."
